Binions is a local tradition. Yes the restaurant has been around since the 1990s and the interior is very well worn. No, you are not getting a Kobe in a certified organic Wolfgang Puck marinade. But you will get is a great old steakhouse with delicious steaks and salads. Be prepared for a wait during popular times, but it's worth it. read more

Their Old West theme welcomes you with a wagon, totem poles, and murals in the front covered porch. From there more murals, totems poles, wine barrels throughout, a moonshine still and craved bear cub in the lobby. Roasted Peanuts on the table to greet you and peanut shells on the floor also adds to the laidback feel. The waitress (Lexie) took my drink order quickly and promptly brought the unsweetened tea and a basket full of fresh yeast rolls. She then offered to take my order, but I asked for more time to go over the menu (since it was my first visit). After a short wait, she answered my question and took my order. I opted for 2 skewers of beef tips and bacon cheese fries for my side. My food arrived shortly thereafter and it included ranch dressing to dip the fries and grilled onions and peppers on the side and then she asked if I needed any steak sauce of mushroom gravy. I opted for the latter. This was great service especially since I for got to ask for ranch and mushroom gravy originally and thought I was only allowed the peppers and onions or the mushroom gravy. During the meal, my glass was refilled just as I finished it and she remembered I was drinking unsweetened tea. As for the food from the rolls, to the steak tips, fries, and condiments was all excellent. And too much for me to eat. We were in town and stopped by! Renegade Sirloin was cooked perfectly medium, was fall apart tender, and seasoned to perfection. I orderd fries which were thick, crispy, and hot! My salad was cold crisp, amd topped with plenty of tomatoes, and egg half, croutons, and cheese. The service was fast, friendly, our glasses were kept full by Raina, and as we left we were thanked by all the staff that saw us. You c ant ask for more. The outside of the restaurant has been updated since we were there last which is good because I dinged them in the past to it being shabby. Our server Shelly was outstanding! The ambiance was "old school" but cool. We had a party of 4 and we really liked everything except the onion rings had tons of breading on them and the Filet was a little grissley for my taste. The rolls, ribs, wings and salad were all phenomenal. read more

The food and dining experience was a bit off due to the service. The atmosphere was cool decorated with an old west setting. I had a salad and squash casserole. The bread was so delicious. Our friends were upset about the T bone steak as it was charred. Then it was sent back and came back undercooked. Our server was less than helpful. We stumbled upon Binions when the Texas Roadhouse had a long wait. Binions told us 40 minutes waiting time but we got our seats in roughly 20/25. Service was quick, efficient and spot on. Our waitress was a doll! The vibe of the place was the perfect mix of country and american grill. The food was cooked very thoroughly and brought out in a timely manner. Ryan was amazing, he had a full section but always made sure he checked on us even when we didn't know he was watching he was paying attention. Our Porter House steaks were so tasty and well cooked there was nothing but juices and flavor. Then to top the night off Jerrad (the manager) super friendly came over to greet and mingle with laughter. Them greeting and attention given was a 5star alone. Always a long wait, but not very many good steak restaurants in the area. The servers have way too many people to serve in their area so it takes a long time to get refills or anything else needed. The restaurant is dark and has a step up or a step down, kind of dangerous for older people. The food is ok, not the best, but maybe the best for the town since it's always packed and loud. I guess it depends what piece of steak they pull for you. Sometimes it's soft like butter, sometimes it's very hard to chew. read more

He ordered the New York Strip (over $30) with a baked potato and house salad, and I ordered the lunch sirloin with a baked sweet potato. While I understand that a lunch sirloin may not be the highest cut of meat, the New York Strip at that price point should have been a quality cut. Unfortunately, both steaks were excessively fatty and full of gristle. We each left more than half of our meals uneaten because the meat was simply not enjoyable. The potatoes, however, were good. Our waitress was polite and accommodating, but she never once asked how our meal was. It almost felt as though she avoided asking, perhaps to avoid hearing feedback. Binion's has been a long-standing restaurant in the area, and we've enjoyed many meals there over the years. It had been quite some time since our last visit, and unfortunately, after this experience, it may be quite some time before we return. read more

Just had the worst meal in a while. The steak tips I ordered medium came rare. They were advertised with mushroom gravy that didn't come with it. Upon requesting some I got just plain brown gravy. The food came seconds after the salads came out. And the waitress was less than enthusiastic to wait on us. When I said the steak wasn't cooked enough she said sorry as she walked off. Ok, we were starving after visiting the Saluda Grade, and this place kept popping up on our phone in google and in yelp. I am not sure why the only got 3.6 out of 5 stars, but this place was awesome! Our server, Pressley, took very good care of us since it was our first time. He even did acrobatic moves to keep from slipping on peanut shells. Food was spectacular! We tried Binions when we first moved up here in 2006 and 2007 and forgot why we didn't want to go back A neighbor has been bragging on the quality of it So we decided to give it another try today. We are horrified at the BAD quality of the food. 1. We ordered a large ribeye, salad and baked potato. The only good thing was the potato and rolls and my gin n tonic. We got a 10 Oz. instead of 14 Oz. steak, so much inedible gristle. Every tiny bite I chewed took 2 minutes to break down this tasteless meat. I have NEVER IN MY LIFE used steak sauce on a Ribeye. Hadn't been here in probably 20 years. Stuck in traffic on the interstate and needed to turn off to get a break. Husband remembered we were at the right exit to stop and get a steak. I have recently been ordering my steaks rare and they did not disappoint. Came out perfect. The sides were perfect with the steak that are huge and tasty. Filled up on dry roasted peanuts at the table, had to take the potatoes home to the hungry kid. Superb service with several check ups on us. Place was packed, but still got prompt service. I ordered a rare hamburger here and received a raw hamburger. It was light gray on top and refrigerator cold raw meat inside. I couldn't eat it and hated to send it back to the kitchen but did. . The manager comes over and tries to explain that this how they serve rare hamburger. It was completely inedible and she had the audacity to try to tell me that I didn't know how a rare hamburger is cooked. I was a cook all through college and know what a rare Burger is. Absolutely stellar, start to finish! Recently dined (09/21/35, ~7:30 P.M. on a Sunday) and was overjoyed at the whole experience. Binion's signature Tombstone Teas were delicious, and I had to hold myself back from downing the whole quart-mason-jar at once! The host service was speedy with a warm and friendly reception. Our skilled server (Courtney) was at our beckoning, waiting on us hand and foot with a huge smile--I would travel state lines to be served by her! The food was out-of-this-world; I ordered the TrailBoss sirloin and made it teriyaki-style like a different steak, and let me tell you--the already high-quality and delicious cut of steak was complemented by a perfect tangy punch of flavor. Never before have my tastebuds rejoiced more, I wager. The meat itself (medium rare) was also grilled to absolute perfection. A supreme highlight of the meal (as with many) was the rolls--but almost better than the rolls themselves was the paired butter (honey butter, maybe?) that surely was whipped in-house, because the texture and flavor makes you close your eyes and go "ooooh..." Y'all, I didn't even describe the sides, and you know what, I don't have to. Just listing what a few of them are will give you the picture: corn puddin; broccoli casserole; mac and cheese; onion rings; baked sweet potatoes. You can't flex these and have them be sub-par in the least bit. Perhaps the greatest thing about Binions is the atmosphere. Being from the south (Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, & NC), I love a good down-home roadhouse, and this place checks all the boxes. -Giang wood carvings, vintage signs, and cool historical pieces to look at? Check. -A TV continuously playing Tombstone on loop? Check. -Every person in the building seems like they respect their mama and say "y'all?" Check. We drive about 45 minutes to come to Binions and never regret it! There is often a long wait but other times we have been able to get right in. We never mind the wait because it gives us time to connect and it speaks volumes about the place i.e. it's just that good, everyone wants in! The service is always amazing and the atmosphere is fun too. The food is so yummy that the only time we end up taking leftovers home is because we decided to save room for dessert. read more
