I came across some towels, and I had bought two. I loved the sayings on them. They have some handmade items also, which I love. When I entered the shop, the owner was sitting at the cashier and painting an item, I'm assuming that is for sale. Seeing something like that makes me happy. I saw the same item she was painting on the wall to be bought. She was sweet too. She had a table. In front of the cashier, for safe distance for the both of us. A few platforms to stop and catch your breath. The view at the top is unbeatable. Take the extra few steps up and you can see the light turning at the top!

Lately though, as a semi-landlocked refugee from Ohioooooooooo, I make it a point (ha!) to get over (and up!) here every chance I get!! The beach is beautiful, (any/every season) the boardwalk hike (from Parking Lot 5) is VERY easy and scenic (look for deer!!) and the view from the top of this historic lighthouse is priceless!! There's a lighthouse museum next door to the lighthouse itself, which is worth a visit (very friendly/informative info/volunteers) but if you're in a rush (esp. toward the end of the day/sunset) head right over the lighthouse itself and get tickets for that climb/money shot!! If I'm able to do the climb with only minimal huffing and puffing (!!) you should be able to as well, and the AMAZING 365 degree view you'll find will be more than worth the "struggle!!" DO IT, L.I.!!!

I called the owner, Debby, to tell her. I said I didn't think there was anything she could do, but I wanted to let her know that the quality of it probably wasn't very good if it fell off within a few hours. She said it could have gotten caught on something and I said a good quality ankle bracelet ( it was sterling silver) should not fall off that quickly. It was apparent she didn't want to hear this because when I said I probably wouldn't shop in her store anymore, she said "Alright, I'm going to hang up. And she did; she hung up on me. It is very much similar to The Paper Store, but more focused on gifts and clothes. There is also a small section of greeting cards if needed. They have two fitting rooms behind the jewelry area. You will need to grab an associate to let you in. The fitting room I went into was very nicely decorated and had a nice big cushioned bench and large mirror. There were plenty of hooks to hang clothes to try on. There is plenty of room to take in a stroller for the mom's shopping with little ones. The store is spaced very well that I had no issue pushing the stroller around. The prices of the merchandise varies depending what you buy. They have a lot of the big name merch like barefoot dreams, UGG and Pura to name a few. The staff all were very nice and welcoming. They were very attentive to greet each customer and able to tidy up areas where customers shopped to keep the store looking nice. Definitely would come back again since they have some cute stuff. For the grand opening (March 29 & 30, 2025) they have free gift cards for the first 100 customers each day and also provide a breakfast treat from Grace's Marketplace. I paid a pretty penny for it, too: $72. Kurt's store remains my favorite clothing store on Fire Island. It is the place to go to shop for T-shirts and sweatshirts for family and friends.
