Used them for an event this weekend and was sadly disappointed. I thought they were a catering company from a wedding I went to but found out it wasn't. It was too late to change plans and they had great Yelp reviews so I went with it. First, they showed up late. And while unloading they were taking their sweet time. Guests had arrived and no food. We ordered from the Elite menu. The tri tip and mashed potatoes were ridiculously salty. The sautéed chicken with creamy white sauce was bland, dry and there was no white sauce. The rice pilaf, steamed vegetables and Cesar salad were the only decent dishes. I gave 2 stars because Elizabeth with really nice and easy to work with during the ordering process. read more

Amazing setup, great tasting flavors, fresh red and green salsa and chips. I was at an event and had a plate of the birria, fajita chicken had bell peppers and grilled onions with rolled up corn tortillas. The bean had a great flavor and red pepper chiles, that everyone asked for one one on their plate. The rice was fluffy and just the right taste. Everything was authentic and great presentation! I was also able to sample the horchata and lemonade with slices of lime floating in the jug. Again, great presentation! I would recommend this company with my photo booth business. I would give them 6 stars if I could. We threw our daughter a traditional, Filipino debutante ball with over 250 guests, and we looked everywhere for a reasonably priced caterer. We were so glad to find Maria who helped us in every step of the way. When she told us that they did decorations, we went to their warehouse to check it out. My daughter loved all the options, and they were able to accomodate all of our requests. We met a few times prior to the ball to go over the busy itinerary. On the evening of the event, Maria took care of everything and followed the schedule. They were kind enough to get my daughter, my wife, and myself food as everyone was getting food at the buffet. They were taking care of minor details that we didnt even consider. When we realized last minute that we had a couple of vegans coming, Maria added a veggie lasagna dish and it was a hit. We used Elma's for my sisters 40th birthday. It was a November outdoor evening and our first family gathering for over a year due to COVID. Not only was the food absolutely delicious but the service was spectacular! We had a lot of running around to do and they arrived early, did their own set up and were ready before we were! Also we had to delay the start of dinner due to some technical difficulties with some guests, Elma's crew made sure the food stayed piping hot for when we were ready. Elma's Catering and Events is a great place to go to if you are having a big event. Last year we used them to cater for our middle school Dinner-Dance. Mr. Medina, the owner, went above and beyond to help us with our needs. As a school our budget is a little limited and Mr. Medina gladly gave us a very affordable price. He even offered to get the cake for us from another vendor, which helped us save money. We were invited for food tasting, they served us like five different dishes, to try and we even received free food to go. On the day of the event, Elma's not only served everything that we requested generously but they also made delicious quesadillas for those who wished to try them. Maria and her crew were our decorators, caterers, and florists for our wedding last Saturday at the San Jose POA and I am beyond happy and grateful for everything from the food to the decorations to my bride bouquet. We initially contacted Maria for chiavari chairs (which she also did for us) earlier this year and she called us in to meet with her at her warehouse where we were already impressed at how nice everything was and how much stuff she had. She sat down with us and told us everything she can do and my then-fiancé and I were very skeptical on getting one person to do pretty much EVERYTHING on such an important day of our lives. After much talk about getting her or not, we decided to get her and I told her that I was very picky on a lot of things so I made Maria a binder of exactly how I wanted the tables to look, how I wanted the flowers, which type of flowers, what centerpieces, what kind of plates, what color drapes and linens... I was very SPECIFIC. Maria set up several meetings with us months before the wedding and weeks before the wedding to make sure the decor and menu were still everything I wanted, and on the day of the wedding, everyone was BLOWN AWAY by the food and the decor. Maria outdid herself for our wedding.. I was so happy with everything she did for us and I want to thank Maria from the bottom of our hearts for making our wedding dreams come true!! If anyone reading this is debating whether to book Maria or not, the only thing I advise is that you give her all the correct times and places for her to be at, give her pictures and lists of exactly what you want done, and trust her because she definitely knows what she's doing.... I would give Elma's Catering 10 stars if I could. Mari is exceptional in allowing the Bride/Groom decide what they want. This company can provide everything for an event from food, flowers, photo booth, chairs, draping, etc. It could be a one stop shopping if you so choose. They provided the food, chairs, flowers and draping for my daughters wedding on Oct 12, 2019 for about 350 people. Mari and her helpers had everything running smooth from beginning to end. Her helpers were also extremely helpful in helping me get my part done in the hall so that I could make it home in time for pictures with my daughter. During the event Mari made sure that everything requested was taken care of. Her helpers kept in touch with me as well. They will work with you on your desires. Pictures of what you are looking for all extremely useful. A timeline of the event is also very helpful. Most importantly they provided a wedding setting that my daughter had in her mind. Elma's Catering Did our food and decoration for my wedding 1/5/19, and Maria went above and beyond what I expected. Decoration was stunning exactly what my wife had asked for, flowers were fresh and the color we wanted sage green. Our guests had nothing but complements about how good the food was. But the thing that wants me to give them 10 stars if I could was the service, amazing, we had some requests during our wedding and Maria took care of them with a smile on her face. We had Elma's cater our New Years party and it was well worth it. The filet mignon was high quality, cooked perfectly to medium rare and exceptionally tender. The lobster was obviously fresh, cooked through and moist on the inside. Elma's delivered when we wanted and their presentation was organized and easy to implement, we were able to lay everything out for our guests with some time to spare. I found this company at the Levi's Wedding Expo and hired them for my May 2017 wedding and this was "THE BEST DECISION" I made for my special day. From the initial meeting I was impressed with the passion and attention to detail for our upcoming nuptials. Planning a wedding is a hefty task and takes a lot of work to do so. Elizabeth is ABSOLUTELY amazing and is God sent to help with the planning & coordination!!! I met with her early last year to plan the wedding and told her what I envisioned for my special day. I live in Sacramento area and was only available to come down on weekends to meet with her. I let her know in advance when I was coming down and she made time and effort to meet with us. She was always available via email/text and when I called she was very responsive!!! I never stressed about not getting a response to any of my inquires and when I was explaining details she asked me to send her examples for her to envision. Because we planned so early in the year...what had me at HELLO was when Elizabeth called and reached out to me the beginning of Jan checking in and to see if I had any other ideas, details, and to see how I was doing. I was ABSOLUTELY AMAZED and didn't expect that at all!!! I was beyond APPRECIATIVE for her going above and beyond to check in and continue to be involved throughout the whole process!! Fast forward to our wedding....I told Elizabeth I am a planner and usually don't like to let go of the reigns for planning and making sure everything is to my expectations, but told her I am putting it all in your hands. Elizabeth and her team were incredible! They catered and decorated for my son's wedding reception. All of the guests said it was the most perfect wedding they'd been to. Elma's provided the most gorgeous eucalyptus leaf garlands for the tables with flower accents. They used beautiful linens and table settings. And finally the food was amazing. We had more than enough for the over 250 guests that attended. The food quality and service were perfect. So many guests commented on the quality of the food. The food line ran through very quickly and efficiently, and Elma's team were very on top of serving the guests and doing prompt clearing of the tables when the guests were done eating. I recently had my wedding on June 25th 2016 and hired Elmas Catering to host my event. I met with Elizabeth who was in charge of setting up the tables and the buffet. I also hired her to be my coordinator for the day of my wedding. She was extremely helpful on the day of the wedding. She had everything organized for me created a timeline in which we followed during the day and she managed to set up the buffet and appetizers for my guests in which they all cant stop talking about how delicious the food was!! I was extremely happy with her service and all her staff. Everyone was very professional and my guests were all taken care of so I did not have to worry about anything. I truly got to enjoy the day of my wedding knowing that everything was taken care of thanks to Elizabeth and her team, I truly want to tell her thank you for catering my event and putting in so much work and time to help me the day of the wedding. DONT BE FOOLED!! I hosted a quinceañera for my daughter and it was a complete disaster show all thanks to this woman who declares herself a party planner. She ruined my poor daughters quinceañera. It all started with the flowers. I payed so much money which I thought was going to be worth it since she had shown me such a nice example, but when I show up to my event the flowers are dead and the wrong color (almost orange instead is a soft blush). Another thing that had my daughter in tears were the decorations that were not at all what she wanted and asked for. The owner, at the time of the party, FORGOT the appetizers. What kind of business forgets a whole course of food? Then the chocolate fountain was a nightmare because so much money was added to the bulk to have it and it was a complete joke! I wish I had taken a picture because mine did not look a thing like the photo they have posted on yelp. You could but that think at target for about 20$! I write this review not to bash this company but to warn innocent people not to go with this lady because she knows how to sweet talk incoming costumers but be warned... don't let your events fall apart due to terrible service. There are plenty of party planners out there that offer the same thing at the same price but with a much better delivery of service. read more

Maria was recommended by the staff at the venue I was checking out for my daughter's graduation. I worked with Maria to provide the chivari chairs/linens, place settings, silverware, centerpieces and backdrop for our daughter's graduation. I met with Maria several times to go over the logistics as I am picky about how I wanted everything to look. She came to our venue a couple of times as well to make sure we were on the same page. In the end everything looked as I had envisioned and all the guests commented on how elegant it looked. Maria does get busy but was prompt in returning my phone calls and text messages. Towards the end there was some confusion about how the flowers should look and I had to make a couple of trips to ensure it was up to the mark, the quality of the balloons also could have been better. We had also hired four wait staff from Maria who did a very good job, we were especially happy with Annabelle with several guests asking her contact information. As long as you are very clear on what you want, Maria and team will make all efforts to deliver. I woudl recommend Maria and her team. read more
