Dr. Cole spent maybe 7 minutes with me. He recommended a brace and sent me to a durable medical equipment (DME) company. I was measured for a custom brace, but the DME company needed updated orders from Dr. Cole to bill my insurance. DME representative started working with an individual at ROC, then the communication went silent. Roughly a month later we learned that the ROC representative resigned and no one monitored her emails. Found a second person to talk to at ROC and they have now gone silent. Finally reached Dr. Cole's MA and he has now gone silent. Original appointment was in June. It's now August and we (me and DME company) still have not received a response from ROC or Dr. Coles office with a response to a very simple question. I still do not have my brace. This is beyond horrible. There are many good orthopedic alternatives.

It is not only the physical pain you feel, but you also have emotional and psychological pain. During my pain journey I lost some friends because they didn't understand, I became withdrawn from others because I could no longer do the things I use to do. My family watched me go from a very outgoing, full of life and one who loved to laugh. My daughter said to me "Mom, I want to hear you laugh again like you use to". One day I was told I should look into Functional Neurology. I didn't know what that was. I found people who were knowledgeable in this area of expertise and were able to explain exactly what it was about. I discussed with my pain doctor as well what I had been looking into and she was so excited that I was thinking "outside the box" in my possible healing other than through procedures and medications. During my research I learned about Dr. Glen Zielinski with Northwest Functional Neurology. I didn't know what exactly to expect and I was extremely nervous. From the moment I walked through the front door I was treated with so much respect, understanding and treated as if I was a family member of theirs. This appointment was known as a "Discovery Day" where they examined my neurological responses as well as my physical responses. This was day was around 3 hours. In the end Dr. Zielinski went over with me my results and took the time to explain in terms that I could understand. He felt that with some outpatient rehab therapy at home exercises there was also a form of treatment that I would benefit most from was a treatment called TMS Therapy. TMS helps treat depression and when a person in chronic pain for as long as I had been in chronic pain their serotonin goes down extremely. That TMS has shown that with treatment and the raising of the serotonin levels that chronic pain can be reduced. I was sent home with information to study over and talk with my husband. I did decide to start the TMS treatment that following week. During the course of the treatment I was able to see changes happening in me. I started to laugh, and not with my fake laugh. I actually was really laughing! I was able to pick up on when something was hitting me that normally would cause my depression to deepen and was able to see the trigger ahead of time and keep it away. I smiled a ton more and my pain was becoming more controlled. I am so thankful for Dr. Z and his team. I am so thankful for what he and his team were able to help me with. I can never express my thanks enough.

Told by one of the associates that the practice had been advised not to see anyone of "Medicare" age while various approvals were being sought. We were very hopeful that this "different" approach to our condition might provide some hope and could not be told when we could possibly be seen. The lack of professional practice management makes us doubt the value and skills of this approach and we will be unlikely to accept a future appointment. Extremely disappointed! Felt we were told a series of lies regarding the scheduled appointment. Seriously deficient in management of the basics of a health-related practice. This rating would be lower if it was offered.

Dr. Kellogg said it was a 45 minute operation and I would go home the same day. I got to the hospital and got all checked in all prepared for the operation. I was lying in the bed and in walks an anesthesiologist he said he would go talk to the Dr. he would be back. After a few minutes Kellogg and the anesthesiologist and another Dr. walked in and Kellogg said the won't let me do the surgery because I was to big. Really are you kidding. Since then I have never heard anything from Dr. Kellogg not even a phone call. I was left helpless in tremendous pain. This man could care less what happened to me. I am in so much pain I can barely walk. A woman from his office named Jackie just blew me off she claimed she sent my case to OHSU you and marked it urgent. This of course was more BS. Nothing was sent marked urgent. I spend my days in so much pain I can barely function. I have to work to support my disabled wife. I am not sure what to do. If anyone is considering going to see this Dr. Kellogg remember he doesn't care about people. He has never picked up the phone to see if I am even alive. I have no quality of life and I have no idea how much longer I can go on. If anyone knows a Dr. that really cares about people I would really like to know who they are. This Dr. Kellogg is obviously not the kind that cares about you or your pain.

When I didn't hear from anyone, I called the next Tuesday morning. They didn't put in the order until the Friday afternoon after my appointment. I ended up calling the nerve study facility myself. I was told they had NO appointments. They couldn't schedule anything for me. I called the Dr's office the next morning and spoke to the person at the front desk. Her response was "yes, that can happen." I asked what to do at that point, she asked me to hold, came back on the line and said there was nothing they could do. WHAT?! So, that's it? No suggestions for next steps? When asked, she said there was no alternative for a nerve study facility. She didn't offer to speak with the Dr. - nothing. I asked that she ask the Dr. if he had any other suggestions or I would have to find another Dr. She said she would check with him. That was over a week ago and I have not received any communication from Dr. Van Allen. I would not recommend going there.
