This store does not even deserve the one star. They do not stand by its deficient product that they sell. What was so frustrating was the company that made the stocking that ripped a week after the purchase said "exchange with the store" and this store said they do not do returns or exchanges so my mom is out $65, that's it, not even an offer to remedy the situation. This is no way to treat a customer, you should be ashamed. I am normally supportive of Bergenfield businesses but this one is not a good one. read more

I just got off the phone with Adam at Cornell Surgical Supplies regarding a lift chair that I bought for my brother about 6 months ago. After I placed the order for the lift chair but before it was delivered, I called again to emphasize that my brother has no use of his right hand; therefore, the control for the chair had to be placed on the left side. Their price for the chair was originally much higher than the price for the chair online. Adam agreed to match the online price, saying that they would give better customer service that an online company. The chair was delivered with the controls on the right. I let it go in the hope that my brother could adjust, but he fell out of the chair because he couldn't reach the controls. At that point, I called Cornell Surgical and requested that someone come and adjust the controls to the left side. We were in the midst of scheduling an appointment to do just that when my husband and I left for overseas. I called yesterday and left a message for Adam. I called Adam again and the gist of the conversation was that he insisted that I have to pay for the electrical cord to switch the control to the left, and I would have to pay a fee to have it properly installed. Adam questioned whether or not I had conversations with other members of the staff at Cornell, which is insulting. When asked the cost of this electrical cord, Adam said that it cost $15 plus shipping. I am curious about their customer service. I would think that they would extend themselves to assist a client who has already fallen out of his chair because the issue of which side of the chair the controls were on were addressed before the chair was delivered. And the cost of $15 seems insignificant to keep a client satisfied, especially in light of the more than $1000 we paid for the chair. read more

Cornell Surgical is a life savor. I visited the store seeking information since I was going in for hip replacement surgery. I was given a list from my surgeon and Jodi who works at Cornell Surgical gave me details on each item and how to use them and what I actually needed. No one was pushy to sell and wanted me to leave there happy. Very knowledgeable staff and extremely friendly. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs equipment for recovery after a surgery or for any other needs that would require medical supplies for their home or office! read more

Is there a 0 stars rating. I had to use this place for years, and they are the worst. If you can get them to talk to you, they are nasty and unhelpful. Luckily I have not had to go there for a couple years -- maybe they have improved...but my dad is with us for the holiday. He needs help with his CPAP unit and I refuse to go there. Appreciate any other options from yelpers out there in Teaneck/Englewood area. Would even go to Washington Heights. read more

The people that work there are all so very personable you feel like you are family and you know that they really care to help fit whatever your needs are! They go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable in these uncomfortable situations that we may have to deal with medically and they are understanding to your medical situation And want you to be comfortable and satisfied :) It is very comforting to know that there are real people still available to help you in difficult times and make you more comfortable! No Stars I needed a wheelchair after ankle surgery to repair a break. I stopped on the way home from the hospital. They said there were only 2 sizes of chairs. The standard was too small so we took the larger. When we got home, it wouldn't fit through the doorways, making it useless. I couldn't use either size. I found out there were other sizes and a friend lent me theirs. Cornell refused to return my money when I returned the chair. I offered to pay for the 1 day rental as I had the chair for less than 24 hours, but they refused to help at all. They gave me misinformation and then wouldn't rectify the situation. So, I never write reviews, but I am astonished at the poor service here. I needed a boot for my son. I called, she said they would order it. I called a few times and there is no central system to see what has been ordered, so I had to wait to talk directly to the person who I had initially ordered with. When (she never calls back and I call her) I finally get her on the phone, she pretends she ordered it but tells me it won't be in until the following week (she had initially said later that same week.) It's three weeks later. I went to another store. I found it. They have YET to call me to say they've received it. Why? Because they are ineffective and dishonest and I am sure never actually ordered it. read more

And when you need to leave a message they actually call you back and you don't have to wait a year and a day, usually within the same business day and within an hour or so of you leaving the message. My brother purchased a Golden Technologies lift chair through Cornell Surgical. When the mechanics stopped working, I contacted Cornell Surgical and spoke with Adam. He arranged to come to Riverdale to repair the chair within a day or so, and my brother's chair is now working well. Thanks for the good service, Adam! read more

My elderly mother made a purchase at this store for my father, a Korean War Veteran, earlier this year. The equipment proved to be defective. She asked me to help her contact the store to get a replacement. I called and received directions on what we needed to do. We were told to take a photo of the equipment and email them the model number.serial number and name of manufacturer. We were assured that we would get a replacement within 5 days. Well this never happened. I called four times over the course of over one month leaving messages for the owners son who we were told was in charge of warranty issues. No return calls were received. Finally, I contacted the manufacturer of the equipment directly at their Long Island office. Magically within hours, Cornell Surgical called me to say that they felt we had waited long enough (1 and a half months) and if I brought the equipment in they would "give" me a replacement. Since my father couldn't go without this equipment for 1 and a half months we had already purchased a replacement from another company weeks ago. Cornell would not offer a refund so we took the replacement and plan to donate it to the Veterans Administration. Another example of how the elderly are taken advantage of and how US Veterans ,who served our country , are denied proper medical care. read more
