This place just can't get it together. I just left from there on a Thursday evening with my 13yo son. We waited over an hour on 2 burgers and that was after waiting for almost 15 minutes just for them to take a drink order. The restaurant was not full at all but they have very limited parking so we had to park in the back and walk around to the front entrance. I can't begin to imagine what it would be like if they were busy. This is not the first time going here and experiencing this type of service. I guess it will be another 6+ months again before I try to give them another shot. It sucks to want to eat at a neighborhood spot and them aways turn out to be a let down! read more

Nice, convenient location. Went to dinner here for the first time on a Wed night (5:45) with some friends. I looked at the menu prior and was a little taken aback by the prices. What's funny is, the items on the drink menu were surprisingly affordable. If I didn't have a passenger to worry about, I would have gotten a cocktail in a second. Usually drinks are outrageously priced at other places but not here. Their apps prices are as high as a normal entre at other restaurants. I would have loved to try one or two but they don't have a happy hour!! Wahhhh???? I understand their drinks are very reasonable but can't you have a few apps 1/2 price on Wed for a few hours? I guess not. I think that's a dumb move but who am I. Anyway, it was crowded and noisy so we just had step up our game and talk louder so we could catch up. Our waitress (forgot her name) was pleasant. I ordered the Corner 16 burger simply because it was cheaper ($13.75) to get it rather than do the "Build A burger" since it came with a bunch of stuff on it already. Unfortunately, it was just meh. It came with fries which were just o.k. too. The entire dish was room temp but I ate it anyway. I did order a side salad w/ Bleu Cheese dressing and it was better than the meal itself. Two of my friends got a "Build a burger" and one friend got the meatloaf sandwich. They liked their sweet pot. fries but weren't enthused about the rest of their meal. I think it's safe to say we won't be back. The cheapest sandwich on the menu I believe was the BLT for $11. Really? Come on. I paid $20 not including tip for an underwhelming meal. (I also only had water) There's nothing here to make me want to come back, unless they start serving 1/2 price apps during a happy hour. I'll come back for apps and drinks. P.S. we've eaten at this location twice in about the last 30 days. the first time I had the pork chop and it was really good and so are the onion rings. my wife has the Turkey and dressing and loved it. our services was good but not great that time. The second visit I had the Rocky Top Hot Brown. it wasn't bad but was not close to a real hot brown. The whole thing was really dry and not really very tasty. there was hardly and mornay sauce on it. it should be swimming in it and especially at a place that isn't a fancy 'hip' joint. Really disappointing and I hope they will work on that dish some and improve it. Service was excellent. as soon as I took the last sip of my Diet Coke, a fresh one was on the table. read more

Visited this location today and the food was alright. Service was pretty good the biggest issue we had was it took a really long time to get our food and when the bill came the prices were significantly higher than the menu listed prices. Be aware and double check your ticket when it comes. We pointed it out to our young server and he had a manager correct it but even at that they still were not the prices listed on the menu. We finally just gave up, paid and left. Not sure we will return. read more

This used to be my favorite restaurant and my husband and I would eat here most every week. I have hosted numerous business dinners here and always been pleased. The food historically was consistently good and the service amazing. Today was a different experience. I ordered my normal ale chicken and my husband got his beef brisket. After being seated for over 40 min, my husband walked around looking for our server. After she brought our drinks, she disappeared and never returned. He finally talked to the bar tender who checked on the food. The server came to the table with part of our order and an attitude. She said the kitchen was new and we needed to be patient. She said our sides were still in the oven and would be out later. I tasted my chicken and was so disappointed. After ordering this dish 15-20 times over the past year, it was covered in salt and inedible. I had to spit it out and so did my husband. When I asked to talk to the manager, she also had an attitude and said that her kitchen staff was new and maybe heavy handed. I asked her to please try it to confirm that this was extreme and not normal. In 48 years, I have never returned a dish to the kitchen. The manager refused to taste it. She said the ticket time was only 28 minutes for the chicken so I should be patient. She didn't even offer to replace the inedible dish. Also, I am sorry but I don't think 28 min times for an empty restaurant are reasonable. Maybe if the staff and manager were doing their jobs instead of hanging out in the back, ticket times, food quality and overall service would be better. If I ran my businesses like that, I would not have customers. As an owner, I never lodge complaints but this was such a horrible experience, I don't want others to feel like I did. I left the lowest tip that I ever have in my life but I hope the young server will realize that goofing off in the back and being rude to customers is not how you make money. I was a server in college and a 30% tipper. Todays 2% was to hopefully teach a lesson. Long story but summary was rude staff including manager and an hour of waiting to get inedible food only to be demeaned and made to feel uncomfortable. read more

We came with four people on a non-busy Monday, and the service was incredibly slow. We asked multiple times for refills or more drinks and we either never got them or they took forever to arrive. Corner 16 is the most family friendly restaurant we've found in Knoxville! Kids can play on the large patio area without disturbing other diners, which allows us adults to enjoy dinner and conversation. They have a great cocktail menu, and drinks are reasonably priced. We've always had good service at this location. The restaurant is large, so even on weekends we've never had to wait more than about 20 minutes to be seated. My husband also loves that he can order his beloved Ale Steak in a more kid-friendly environment since Corner 16 is part of the Copper Cellar family of restaurants. read more

This was our first visit here, having been to the other location in North Knox County before. It's an identical restaurant, but a different location. It has a kind of modern/rustic industrial feel. Our service was very good, and so was our lunch. We shared the Corner 16 Burger and my wife and I each found a beer we like. The prices are reasonable too. I think it's a very good place that you can probably depend on having consistent quality. We would definitely return to either location. read more

Horrible food. Worst service ever. Waited over an hour for a burger and vegetable plate. The manager offered to buy us desserts. When we said we don't eat dessert, he walked off. Yummy comfort food! Tomato pie is the best side and the chicken BLT is Not only is the food great the outdoor patio seating is perfect for families. Food is decent, but completely unoriginal - just standard southern comfort food. The atmosphere is nice. I would give them more stars if it weren't for their method of taking payment. Instead of giving your bill at the end they bring card scanners to your table and then stand there and stare at you while you decide how much to tip. I'm a good tipper when service is good, but its extremely uncomfortable to have them staring at you when the service is bad and you don't want to tip much. The food here is okay nothing special, but what made our experience was our server. He was super knowledgeable in the food selection. This made me feel comfortable because I have a gluten allergy. Okay. Let me start by saying I've grown up in Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Texas. My entire family has lived in Louisiana for roughly 150 years- we know southern food like we know the menu at a sonic drive in- Very well. It would hurt to admit that the food I just ate from Corner16 surpassed anything in the family recipe book if I weren't in a food heaven state right now. The banana pudding is the absolute best I've ever tasted and the walnuts, slight anise flavor and white chocolate ribbon curls make this place an experience in itself. Brisket sandwich was excellent, and the fried green tomatoes were out of this world. Curbside service and phone ordering was extremely attentive patient and polite. We have been here before and like the food but tonight our waitress Emma D. made it even better. She was friendly, helpful and very attentive. I love the tomato pies there but found they don't heat up as well at home so Emma ask the general manager if she could sell me some unbaked ones. Extremely Disappointing. Fried green tomatoes batter was raw, Seared yellow fin Tuna was terrible and had a streak of connective tissue right down the center. My wifes chicken and dumpling were edible but the center of the dumpling was cold. 80% of the menu was Calhouns standard fare... but probably wont be back to find out if its any better....Stay away. read more

Had a dry meatloaf sandwich with bacon on it that tasted like jerky.The nachos weren't very good either, very sad... ended up with more on my shirt than in my mouth... very thin!!! We have been to the Northshore location several times. Decent restaurant but the managers need to help more. I witnessed a manager Hayley be very rude to the receptionist and servers. She leaned up against the front counter almost the entire time we were there. Our server got pulled from our table. The girl that waited on us said the manager ask her to take our table because a table was pulled from his section. This was a dark skinned, young handsome male. We liked him. We witnessed her being very ugly to him at the entrance to I think the kitchen. She was yelling. I do not like to see employees mistreated. I manage a bunch of people and I wouldn't have any if I acted like her. Hayley needs to value working people more. Fix Hayley and the experience will be much better. I do not come to watch hostility. I'm a fixer at work so behavior like this is distracting. Watching managers be lazy and yell at staff is disturbing. She is at the Northshore location beware!! read more
