Well, this was a fun surprise! We were looking for a cool brunch place that we'd never tried before, and although it was outside of town, it was totally worth the Uber. It's ADORABLE. Love the decor and the pretty and interesting atmosphere. Lots of cute little things in this spot. Everything was delicious and the portions were impressive. I was really surprised by this one and highly recommend anyone coming here for a good bite. Server was super sweet and took great care of us; she helped me decide on my order because I was truly so stuck.

Great food, great service, nice atmosphere! What more can you ask for? A trendy, chef-owned Modern Southern restaurant at 5018 Kingston Pike in Knoxville. Renowned for thoughtfully sourced, farm-to-table Southern comfort food. Great weekend brunches, and a tasty cocktails!

    Chicken and waffles, beignets, mimosa

Chicken was crucified, beignets were stretching like the dough wasn't cooked and I ordered a mimosa that was over priced and came out the size of a double shot glass. Felt like I got robbed as I walked out of there.

Biscuits and gravy "with candied bacon" (aka sugar crumbles)

We genuinely wanted to love this place. It came so highly recommended, and we walked in excited. But my husband summed it up perfectly: underwhelming. Not terrible by any means, just... far from what we hoped for. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. The gravy arrived lukewarm, and the biscuits tasted strongly of raw flour. One of them was so tough I actually had to work at it with my knife--never a great sign. The chicken itself was tender enough to cut with a fork, but the biscuit beneath it was bland and dense. The "candy bacon" turned out to be more like crystallized sugar than bacon--just sweet crumbs that made the whole dish even sweeter. I mentioned to the server after the first bite that it was overly sweet, and she simply acknowledged it and moved on. The dish really needed seasoning and balance. My husband ordered the Brekkie with brisket, and he said it tasted more like pot roast from a crock pot than smoked brisket. No smoke, no seasoning, just a very earthy, monotone flavor profile. The whole dish was one, boring palate. The restaurant itself is charming, and our server was friendly, but her attention was almost entirely on the large table beside us. We didn't get drink refills, and she didn't check back in after the initial drop-off. The food also took about 30 minutes to arrive, so even though we were disappointed, we didn't say anything--we didn't want to wait another half hour. We might give it another try someday, but breakfast won't be what we order if we do. With all the glowing recommendations we heard, it was disappointing to walk away feeling like the experience was barely average.

Yummy breakfast. I got the sunny and it was light and flavorful. The staff was wonderful and the over all dining expert and ambience was 10/10!

We celebrated a birthday today and there was only a 20-minute wait. Considering that we arrived at 12:30, 20 minutes was not bad. We were originally seated in an area that was quite loud, but when I asked for a quieter table, we were promptly seated in a nice enclosed banquette with table that was perfect for our hearing impaired guest. This is the first time we've dined at the new location. It's more roomy, spacious and has a homey feel. The new menu has e-x-p-a-n-d-e-d and there were so many entrees and appetizers it was hard to pick. I chose the black and blue fries which are hand-cut with Nashville hot sauce, buttermilk dressing, blue cheese, candied bacon and chives as an appetizer. They did not disappoint. For my entree I chose the Sunny which was described as multigrain bread toasted (4 slices), smashed avocados, tomato, sprouts, radish feta, cured red onion, lemon, olive oil, zaatar, two local eggs sunny-side up and Malden sea salt. Overall it was a good choice, but by the time my order arrived, the eggs were already cold, the slices of avocado were thinly disbursed on the toast and the onions were surprisingly salty. I had hoped that they would have been pickled. For the birthday girl, she chose the Lemon-Berry Cake. This was an outstanding gluten-free lemon cake filled with lemon cheesecake cream, brown sugar-honey soaked blueberries and raspberries, topped with fresh whipped cream. Fabulous!! Annabell, our server, was spot-on in her impeccable service.

Have been wanting to try this place and finally got a table on daughter's last day in Knoxville after graduation. We were seated outside on a beautiful day. Food was great, service was fast and our server, I wish I'd gotten his name, was wonderful. Lots of space for parking. Recommend advance reservation as this place is always busy

Food was great. Everyone at my table loved theirs. Service was more like a 2/5, server was awfully rude. Example: my mom and I got waters, she specifically asked would you guys like lemons, we said no. Once she brings the waters out there's lemons in them. For me whatever not I big deal I just took it out, but my mom is allergic to citrus. Mom is shy as well, she tried asking the server for a new water w lemon and she raised her voice saying what?! She had a fake smile on her face and once mom went outside of script she dropped it and resumed her normal RBF. I took over and said she NEEDS a new water with no lemon because she is allergic to citrus. She rolled her eyes and got smart and asked do you need a new water (to me) I said no but she does if you would be so kind. Anyways food was great, probably would get takeout because I can't handle snobby college girls as my servers. Oh tables and chairs were cute and comfy though.. lol

I was in Knoxville for work and wanted to grab a bite before heading home. I was in the mood for brunch, and this spot came up on Yelp. I sent a few options to my wife, and she chose this place. When we arrived, we were told there would be about a 30-minute wait, but it ended up being closer to 15 minutes, which was a nice surprise. The ambiance and décor were beautiful--very cute, cozy, hometown vibes. While waiting for our server, we looked over the menu. There were tons of unique items--definitely different from what you normally see. Even though I thought I wanted brunch, I ended up going with the beef dip, while my wife ordered the burger of the month. She also chose the goat cheese hot honey as an appetizer. When the appetizer arrived, I wasn't sure I'd like it, but it turned out to be surprisingly delicious, especially paired with the crostini. My beef dip came with seasoned brisket that was incredibly tender. Some of the brisket juices soaked into the fries, giving them an extra layer of flavor. The au jus was perfectly balanced and didn't overpower the brisket. My wife really enjoyed her burger. Her only minor complaint was that the fries were mostly short pieces instead of longer cuts, but they were still crispy, hand-cut fries. Of course i had to have a big back and try the cookie skillet. The cookie wasn't too thick, soft center and crispy edges. Overall, this is a solid spot, and if I'm back in Knoxville, I'd definitely return.

    My delicious burger and fries!

Always a great meal and exceptional service! I can't wait to go back and experience more of the delicious menu!

Canyon Ranch ("brisket burrito") Brekkie (back) and Shawarmacy Chicken Sandwich with fries (front)
    Tony S.

I expected the decor to be farm themed, but oddly it's almost kind of southwest or beachy, but in any case it's casual and comfortable, which is what you want for a breakfast/brunch spot. We had a reservation, which is highly recommended on weekends as it was packed. The service here was very good but the food was even better. Even the coffee was a cut above. We had two brunch items. The first was their Canyon Ranch Brekkie, which is basically a "build you own burrito" with braised brisket (au jus), two eggs (our server smartly recommended scrambled for this dish) and "fixins" that included very tasty black beans, cured red onions, sweet potato hash, feta cheese and guacamole, served with corn tortillas. This was large and amazing! The brisket with its au jus was just so good. Our other choice was their Shawarmacy Chicken Sandwich. It was equally amazing. The zatar-based shawarma seasoning was fantastic and the chicken was so tender. Some of the feta and tzatziki sauce spilled out onto the fries which made already great fries (with some potato skins left on) even better. We'll come back here on our next trip to Knoxville to try some of their many other interesting menu options.

My partner had the Irish Bennie on gluten-free bread (which can be hit or miss elsewhere, but they nailed it), and I went with the Frog in a Ditch--both were flavorful, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. We added fresh fruit and collard greens on the side, which felt like a perfect mix of fresh and hearty. Drinks were just as fun: I tried the breakfast margarita (heads up that there's grapefruit juice if you take morning meds), and my partner had a lavender lemonade with gin that was super refreshing. Big shoutout to our server, Melissa: she made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming. Overall, an outstanding first visit. My go to are the bennys and some form of a meat with it. For me some of the sides could use some love or a refresh; at times the sides are a little on the tough side or the temp just isn't where i'd want it. We did not have any drinks but the offerings cover the local, standard and top shelf tastes. The staff is even invited to events to learn about food and drink parings. Lunch was grab and eat. It was very quiet becasue we were well past the lunch rush and before the early dinners. I needed something more than a salad or bowl even though several were tempting. Not always a burger guy, but a bison burger will draw my attention. You don't see bison much in TN. Delicious. Juicy enough I needed an extra napkin. The second reason I chose the burger was for the carrot fries. I don't ever remember having them before or even seeing them. Their good, no reason they can't be a replacemnt to traditional fries and they don't "sag" as much as sweet potato fries. In my case, the kitchen put potato fries on the plate rather than carrot fries. Our server, Daniel noticed it and brought out a separate plate with proper side. Great service there. Another upgrade is that seasoning on the fries. There are several different ones and they differ byt the dish and fry. It was fun to compare the difference on the plate. So, cazzy's is not at diner but a fine gastropub.

My husband is the breakfast person in our marriage, so this was absolutely his kind of place. We ordered the famous pancakes with their Blue Mélange blueberry butter, along with scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, and a biscuit. First of all, these pancakes are THICK. Not "slightly fluffy" thick. These things have some HEIGHT to them. But somehow they were still soft and fluffy inside instead of being heavy or dry. The blueberry butter on top was such a good touch too. Sweet, creamy, a little fruity, and completely different from just throwing regular butter and syrup on a pancake. The rest of the breakfast was classic and hearty. The scrambled eggs were good, the bacon was crispy, and the biscuit was huge. This is definitely one of those places where you should come hungry because the portions are not playing with you. I also loved the personality of the restaurant. It doesn't feel polished or cookie-cutter at all. It has this funky, quirky, old-school Chattanooga character that makes eating there feel like part of the trip instead of just another breakfast stop. And coming from someone who is NOT usually running toward pancakes or breakfast food, I still had to keep reaching over to my husband's plate. The pancakes were easily the standout for me. Definitely worth trying at least once while you're in Chattanooga, especially if you're a breakfast person. Come hungry, order the pancakes, and DO NOT skip that blueberry butter.
