Overpriced hospital food at best. After ordering two sandwiches which came out to over twenty dollars from a teenager with a bit of an attitude we went to sit outside. Since we had been driving by and wanted a place with outdoor seating. Every table was COVERED with crumbs,used napkins and dirty plates. I checked inside thinking maybe nobody was paying attention to outside much since there was only a couple people eating outside. But inside tables were almost as dirty. So I wet a napkin and cleaned a table outside myself. A guy who I realized was in charge of bringing food out and clearing tables (who was nice but obviously not cleaning the tables) brought out two small sandwiches that I was shocked cost over twenty bucks. Was here on saturday for a lunch with my BFF, i had never been it was her idea to stop there, i had passed it a bunch of times before seeing as i live like 5 mins away. They have good soup and i got the santa fe salad and loved it, i like that you can mix and match salads and soup or sandwiches, and get half a sandwich or salad, i got a bowl of soup and it was huge, next time ill just get the cup. The food is terry good but the price they charge and the quantity they give definitely don't make it worth it. I ordered a trio platter with soup, chicken salad and pasta salad. I waited 15 minutes for the food, switched to take it out due to the length of time it took and when I opened it up, I got 3 forkfuls of pasta salad and about 5 of chicken salad. Really? It's clean and well lit, definitely a good venue to meet up for brunch and lunch. However, food wise there is nothing super impressive about this place. They have your typical sandwiches and wraps. I had the apple sausage Panini and it was tasty enough. There was a hint of sweetness from the apple and the Panini was nicely toasted. My friend got the well-advertised Anaheim scrambler with bacon and avocado. The eggs were a tad too dry and bland. I've been to this chain in the past, and I remembered I liked the Corner Bakery I ate at in Chicago. So when I saw one popped up in Willow Grove, I thought I would give it a try. The food was eh. I got eggs scrambled with peppers and potatoes and I felt like there was more peppers than actual egg in my meal. But it was ok. On the way out I grabbed a brownie, which was good once I let it thaw for a bit. It was obviously taken right from the freezer and put out for purchase. My grandma was especially confused by this place, as she was expecting a bakery, which I thought was funny. With a Baja Fresh and a Peace a Pizza right there in the same shopping center, I feel like there are better options out there for a quick bite. read more

Nothing special but a good alternative to Panera. And they have pasta! We had: Chicken Carbonara pasta and the Smoked Turkey Cobb on Brioche Flatbread. I had the pasta and it was pretty good for $8. Served with a panini'd garlic bread, there was tons of chicken, bacon and peas. I also had a bite of the flatbread sandwich and it was delish. Fresh bread and lots of turkey. After dinner we brought home little treats, red velvet whoopie pie for me, macadamia nut cookie for T. The red velvet cake on the whoopie pie was a little dry around the edges but the icing was SO good and rich and cream cheese-y. I haven't been to this franchise in a few years, but I do like it every time I come. I've had salads, paninis, sandwiches, and I have to say that I don't recall a time that I was let down. I like the way this place is setup. It's kind of like chipotle but with american food. There's a self serve fountain drink station, and the food (if you're eating there) is brought to you by the number ticket they give you (which you put on a card holder so the server can find your) Though it's not gourmet or anything like that, it IS a decent place to grab breakfast or lunch. read more

The people who posted reviews to this store are "class A" D-bags. These idiots think that they since they are shelling out $2 for a muffin it should be the best muffin ever created. (Incidentally, the CB Chocolate muffin is crazy good.) Corner Bakery is an upscale casual dining option, ie better than a McDonalds and on par with a Panera Bread. The CB's DC Chicken Salad, all pasta options, salads and their Chocolate Crumb muffin (again, simply out of this world) rock. I eat here often. Great for a quick cup of coffee, lunch or a dinner. The food is consistent, as is the coffee. Staff is friendly, too. This is not an elegant restaurant, and it is not meant to be. Every time that I have been there, I've been satisfied with my meal. Service is usually quick, they bring out your food, you eat and away you go. I've never been thrilled with this location - high prices, slower than average service, sticky tables, etc. But tonight's meal really convinced me to never return. It was like my 18 month old daughter prepared my meal. I ordered the 1/2 panini (caprese) and 1/2 pasta (primavera). Both items are on special and depicted on large ad boards around the restaurant. The panini came out grilled only on one side, the other piece of bread was oil soaked mush. The pasta was even worse. In my bowl we're cavatappi noodles with a bland (butter?) seasoning. There was literally 1 CHERRY TOMATO, 1 SMALL RED PEPPER SLICE, and the zucchini and spinach were completely missing. This is not what was depicted or described. The pasta didn't even taste good. Dirty! Dirty! Dirty! Had lunch here today a little before 2 PM. Wife and I found a cleared table and sat to eat. As wife and I were sitting and eating we watched the employees clear the tables near us. Not a single employee wiped the table after they cleared the dishes. Tables were visibly dirty after they cleared the dishes. Several customers were walking around looking for a table. I could hear the comments they were making ie, "don't sit here the table is dirty, don't sit there the table is dirty." If management does not care about the dirty conditions in the part of the restaurant that the customers can see; can you imagine what the kitchen and other areas are like where the customer cannot see. Bracing for a cloudy day I headed into Corner Bakery for a cafeine fix and some warm breakfast. I let the crowded parking lot tell me I had made a good choice and was pleasantly surprised to walk into the warm dining room. I ordered their commuter croissant which was egg, cheese and tomato minus the bacon, a pastry and a large cup of coffee. My sandwich was piping hot, my coffee was nice and strong and the pastry was sweet and delicious. Was this a Panera Bread last week? Ok, I'm being snarky but there are many similarities between this and Panera, and that's NOT a good thing. I had the entree-sized Cobb salad. The small amount of chicken was dry and poorly seasoned. It was all iceberg lettuce which means an unflattering watery crunch. Bacon had decent flavor but was cooked so long it was hard as a rock. I will say that it was pretty clean, which is a big thing for me, and found the coffee tasty. My son and I went there for the BC chicken salad sandwich. Would have been nice if they sell the brown,(pumpernickel?) bread all year. Biggest complaint I have is there needs to be a lot more chicken in the salad and a lot more chicken salad on the bread. My teenage son complained about the lack of meat on his sandwich and I noticed mine was the same . We noticed when you open up the bread.. they put a lump of salad in the front. The back of the bread/roll has no chicken salad! It's a trick so when you take the first bite it appears to have a lot of meat. Do they think we are dumb? Stopped here on a road trip and was starving. Had intended to go to nearby Qdoba but when I saw the swarming crowd at this place, I decided to try it instead. Ordered the chicken pesto sandwich and it was fantastic! comes with tomato and greens and pesto mayo, and the chips were delicious, too! I am a fan! On my return trip, decided to stop here again, and when using the restrooms noticed how dirty the floors were and also got a glimpse of the kitchen. I decided to pass/wait to eat. I have eaten at CBC before in another state and it was good. However, I went here and order a sandwich. It was bland and no taste. They didn't even melt the cheese. The potato soup was really good! I went back on another day and they were out of potato soup. I ordered a salad. The lettuce was weltered and flavorless salad dressing. I will not be going back. It was quite late when we arrived here but before closing 6:50 on a Sunday. The servers were not happy maybe because we were close to closing time but they had not closed yet. We saw others walking in with us too. They had closed the panini grill but took our panini order and burnt it. I do not recommend this place but if you do go please avoid closing time. The pasta was not cooked well the sandwich was made as if it didn't want to sit on the plate. Please tell customers you closed up before they order . They come for a nice meal with family and if you cannot face that we would rather eat next door and have a better time. We were in the area. In the past I had a nice experience at the Bala Cynwyd location. I was happy to see another Corner Bakery and went in for lunch. It was really crowded. After ordering our food we couldn't find a clean table so we finally sat at a dirty one and wiped it down with our napkins. The table was dirty next to us too, not pleasant. I went into the cafe and ordered a chicken apple sausage and side of potatoes i asked the cashier how they make the potatoes and are they fresh. She stated they make them fresh in the oven with onions on top. I then ordered a coffee my food came out in 3 min which was fast. I checked my and the food looked dry, dehydrated and not fresh. I went back up to the cash register to two men talking and stated that my food was not fresh and that it was dry and it tasted a day old. One of the guys said, well i didnt make it and we are going to give you the same potatoes and chicken its all the same. I told him my food wasn't hot. i like hot food. I used to treat myself to Corner Bakery when I was in the area which wasn't often. I hadn't been there in about two years which is how old my child is. I was on my way home from a gymnastics class today and we stopped in for a sandwich . Every patron in the dining room looked happy to be there. I can say that the gentlemen that waited on me was very friendly and even read my order back to me to make sure it was correct. I ordered a club panini, a fountain soda, and a brownie to go. I noticed that the coffee and beverage station was pretty messy, and the floor by the waiting bench was filthy (there were tons of people there so that's not so bad). We only waited a few minutes and then headed to the car. I opened the bag and saw a really dilapidated and pitiful looking soggy panini sandwich. The bacon was haphazardly thrown on and the turkey was slimy and cold. I took the turkey off and tried to eat the rest of the sandwich. 15 dollars isn't super expensive for all that i got, but it's not cheap either. I was really disappointed in this sandwich and would definitely not order that one again. read more
