On Tuesday, I ordered a pizza for pickup on Wednesday. Arrived at the specified time. Door was locked. Called 20 minutes later, no answer, left a message. They called back and said they had my pizza. I called back a little later to verify that they had my pizza ready. They said they did. I went and pizza wasn't ready, It was still in the oven & I had to wait for it. this place is constantly locked-up, even when there is a guy working inside. I talked to someone that knows the situation. She said they have trouble finding counter help and they have trouble buying food stock items!!!??? They close and turn out the lights on their whim. WEIRDO-RAMA situation. We have been getting pizza here for 40+ years. Sunday we got the worst pizza . The crust was thin, it had way to much sauce on it and it was soggy and undercooked. We will try it again to see if the bad pizza was just a bad day. If we get one like it again, we will have to look for another favorite pizza shop. Very sad. I don't want to give my opinion on this place, but I feel Cornered because Yelp keeps asking me to. So OK I will. It's been a year or so since I had their pizza, which Matt ordered in because he loved it. Based on that experience, I might have given them 4 or 5. I couldn't decide which, so I stopped by one lunch time to finally figure out how much I like their pizza when it's hot and fresh out of the oven. Only guess what. I didn't get to try it. Because they don't serve slices! You need to start serving slices. You'd have a 4 or 5 rating if you did. Even if they've been sitting out all day, idc. Throw one in the oven for me, take 2 dollars from me and get a nice rating on Yelp. Oh well. No slices in North Eastern Ohio. Well, lots of people beg to differ but a lot of the better places (cough Angelo's) don't serve slices. I really like this pizza. Just order it crispy especially if you get the 14" size. Sausage and mushrooms, and get the peppers in the sauce. Seriously. The sausage is the best, not those large chunks you get at most places. Ground up crumbly not greasy sausage. Extra cheese is good too. read more

Updated review! I'm beside myself with the new ownership/management. Pizza is garbage, and a shame to Cornersburg alone. They were famous for their sausage pizza. See my pictures and what's become of the legend. They said ownership/management has changed! We took back the pizzas for a refund. This is so sad.... read more

Who else grates their own cheese, takes half a day making sauce or sausage, makes their dough daily etc... and doesn't advertise it like you should kiss their asses because of it?! -- That's because this is how it SHOULD be, (at least anywhere you're expecting wholesome / handmade food.) Fair prices with generous toppings and fully customizable. Christ, these guys will make 1/16 of the pizza a certain way if need be! Another valley staple, approaching 50 years (for good reason), you'll never regret getting yourself a pie from here... Recommended: 1/2 Mrs. Lou (Brier Hill + onions + sausage) & 1/2 white pizza with hot peppers. Staff and Owner are genuine down-to-earth people. Let me start with this: I have been a customer for 45 years. For so many years, I always counted on a pizza that I loved. That was always the case, and when I went to Cornersburg Pizza Boardman I knew that EVERY time I went I could count on got the same great experience. Over the years, I tried the other branches in this local chain in the area - Poland, Cornersburg, etc. - but they were NEVER up to the standards of Boardman Cornersburg. Not EVER. Not ONCE. I think Mrs. Matula and her son simply provided the absolute BEST Cornersburg pizza there is. Last week, I was shocked to experience a pizza without pepperoni - although I ordered it with several toppings. Mrs. Matula would NEVER have given me a pizza without the toppings ordered, nor would Larry. Under new ownership, this location cannot hope to be what it was: The best pizza anywhere around - and JUST the pizza. CARING. Think for a minute about this. No matter who takes it over, Cornersburg Boardman is a crazy SPECIAL place - not because of the name, the location, the owner(s), but just because of THAT PIZZA OU CAN COUNT ON.
