Hello, It seems like my review was deleted. I've brought many concerns to the attention of this apartment complex and there has been no effort to fix. At this point we are breaking the lease. We have holes in our carpet, broken door (huge safety concerns - considering we have cops at the complex nightly and even had a swat raid a few months back), lots of dirt on the walls, lights falling out of fixtures, mice, general pest issues everywhere, our fence is rotten and needs to be replaced, screen door has had holes since we moved in. So many issues that go unrepaired simply because they dont care. Im so happy to be leaving this place. It has been a nightmare from day 1. I am sure even though all these issues were documented since we moved in that they'll still keep our deposit. I highly recommend staying away from this place!!! read more

CornerStone Management Team does not support nor care about healthy lifestyle living. When we first moved in, they said they were going turn the old daycare center that is empty into a gym 5 yrs ago, it never happened. All other apartments around our area have gyms for tenants. Amenities, Cornerstone only has 1, A cold swimming pool. No hot tub, no bike racks. I live on the 3'rd floor & my family & I have 3 bikes. They expect us to carry the bikes 3 floors up and down every time we want to go for a bike ride. If I nicely park them in my assigned stall, they send threatening letter saying they will cut the locks and dispose of the bikes. Living here is so stressful with our management as they are always looking for a reason to send threatening letters. They recently towed our neighbor's car from her assigned stall because she doesnt drive it, when her tags were legit. After her raising hell, they towed the car back and put it back in the stall. What if I was a senior citizen, on the 3'rd floor with grandchildren & bikes. It would be very dangerous carrying my bike up and down 3 flights of stairs, even on the first floor at that. Trying not to dirty the carpets or damage the walls. WTF read more

We've been in this apartment since 2009 and we are so grateful that we live here, because the place is beautiful, peaceful, clean and close to the nearest plazas and schools. The staff and maintenance always do their best to keep the appliances and amenities up to date and working. Every time we submit a work order, they do not fail to get on it asap. I just moved to Cornerstone Apartments, and like most moves, it had a bit of stress and a few hiccups included. At first, I wasn't really sure that I had made the correct decision, there were a couple of issues that I was not really happy with, and I had some second thoughts. But I have to say the office staff, and especially Andrea, completely turned around my experience. Whenever I needed some question answered or help with something, she never hesitated going the extra distance to see to it that I was getting what I needed without any worry on my end. Because of her, I have felt so taken care of and included. Now that I'm completely settled in here I am so thrilled that I made the changeover plus I love the fact that Peet's Coffee is just nearby as well! It's not very common to receive this sort of personal attention and care these days, and I'm totally grateful for it. Thanks a million to Andrea. read more

Cornerstone at Gale Ranch - Apartments Near Me - San Ramon, California

DO NOT TO LIVE HERE. The management is so lazy and has shown time and time again they have nothing but contempt for their residents. From personal experience, I have had neighbors throwing parties up until 4 AM with the music so loud it shakes the entire building for several nights in a row. It was so bad that several of us didn't sleep for four days, yes you read that right FOUR DAYS. This should be taken seriously by management, at least you would think. However, to this day management has taken no action and the parties continue in our building despite the countless complaints. This has been going on for over a year now and sleepless nights have become common. Another example is smoking. Yes, there are residents smoking inside the apartment buildings. No, management will not do anything about it. If you do end up choosing to live here just know it will not be a pleasant experience and the management is doing whatever they can to keep it that way. read more

This apartment used to be very nice. Now, it is SUPER GHETTO!!!!! The dumpsters are constantly full of trash, outside of the allotted areas. It seems, this is the new dump, people are leaving car engines, mattresses, random, old pieces of furniture, etc. Put cameras or something, they should be able to afford it for peets sake!!!! Then, there are several old cars, which are collecting dust, some even have old registration. They said, they will remove vehicles such as these, but they do not. Next, the characters that live here are sometimes scary, I do not even feel safe walking around in the evenings anymore. I bought a stun gun. I'm not sure of the process to enter these apartments anymore, but I do not feel as though I live in the suburbs of San Ramon. There are people constantly sitting in there cars, smoking weed, I do not know what the heck is going on around here anymore, it is ridiculous. Even more frustrating, they want to charge you an arm and a leg for rent, while hardly ever doing any upgrades. I have not had any upgrades for around nine years, yet they are posting pictures of beautifully renovated units. They constantly bother you about signing a new lease every single year, which was never done previously and then raise your rent exponentially over $250 + a year. When it comes to getting maintenance requests completed, it could take months to get things fixed, yet...your rent is still the same. I feel as though I need to do my own maintenance, in order to get a job completed. Some of the staff want to be condescending, and act as though they are for sure right, even when they have hardly worked here long. I have informed them of how long I have been here and how things have been done. I do not believe this property cares about their residents, or their safety. Nor do they have any loyalty to long term residence. I have lived here for over 14 years. In order to get a pool key, if you have misplaced it, they used to charge you $5, now it is $100. Really, as though the rent is not expensive enough. I am not sure if this property is under new ownership or what, but unfortunately, this place is no longer my little oasis. These are the facts, no lies. I do feel blessed to have been able to be a resident of San Ramon for so long, but I would definitely not recommend this apartment complex to anyone, until I can leave, I hope something seriously changes. read more

My first review, sucks it has to be one star. This apartment complex's in dire need of new management, maintenance, and upgrades. . The units in this complex haven't had any upgrades or renovations since being built. Imagine having the same appliances that multiple people have used for 17+ years with no changes. Let's start with maintenance. There's only two staff members on the maintenance team for this multi building complex. There's a supervisor who reside on the property but I've never seen him do any work besides cutting down the trees and leaving the cut trees throughout the property. When I leave for work in which my work schedule vary, I've noticed the maintenance supervisor walking his dogs during the work day. I've heard the maintenance supervisor breaks into units when tenants aren't home from a few residents. The residents stated the property managers in on the shenanigans. Repairs aren't completed properly, but patched up with the problem recurring and even more worse than before. All of the contractors hired by the company come and do half jobs as well. I've seen cockroaches outside of one of the buildings. There's spider nest, ant colonies, pincher bugs, stink bugs all throughout the property. Squirrel nest in the building. There's a rat infestation on one side of the property. The trash receptacles are always full, so much illegal dumping. The pool water hasn't been changed in the last 2yrs. The grass smells like pet urine. Residents allow their pets to poop outside of the property so when walking you see tons of dog crap. There are non operable vehicles parked throughout the complex. Property manager seems to lack empathy for the residents suffering in these deplorable conditions. The property manager is very condescending and unprofessional. I've seen her come to work in sweatpants and jeans which says a lot about her attitude. Claudia marks incomplete work orders as complete. I've had quite a few residents tell me maintenance have stolen from their units. Look elsewhere. read more

We have been living here for a year now, the only reason we decided to stay for an additional year is because our neighbors. They are friendly and they each have children in the age group as my toddler. The office however, are unprofessional and always finds an excuse as to why maintenance aren't doing there jobs. When we first moved in, we had a mildew problem, six months later mildew in the walls, dryer constantly give us problems and this Morning I contacted them In regards to my kitchen light going out!!! It's been out for two days!!! Again excuses! They have No problem collecting rent each month, but when it's time to fix there property, it's a issue. I have a relative at there sister property ( Deer Creek) they blame everything on covid 19!! Truth is, they aren't doing there jobs!!! Update: August 2022 we have been here going on three years now. We still have a mold issue, we have been reaching out since 2020 and the issue is still not resolved. We will have to report this issue if it isn't resolved. The picture does no justice of how it looks in our bathroom, we bleach, use mildew sprays once a week but the problem has not been resolved. I spoke to the front office people, they were not helpful, I have submitted a complaint to the department of fair housing because at this point, my house is a health risk. We pay almost 2300 monthly in rent ( and have NEVER been late, even during COVID) we should not have to beg the front office to maintain a habitable place of living. read more

I moved here three months ago, and have placed multiple maintenance requests in to fix the ac drop over my tub. Something I was told not to worry about. However it is dripping day and night, and turning my tub brown! I have contacted the property 5 times now and it just gets worse each time. It is so unhealthy and insane that this is a known issue that you are charging me to live in an apartment that has this horrible of water leaking causing Heath issues. read more

When we first moved in 2 years ago we were so excited!The overall atmosphere of the complex seemed appealing and located close to my work. We did have some trouble with the office losing our initial deposit, which we had to pay again - which was frustrating and I had to track everything down with my money order to prove in fact Cornerstone Apts had cashed it. Our account was credited and we received our double deposit fee back. We ended up with an apt on the 3rd floor which we didn't get much a choice over - which kind of sucked for a while because we moved in right after I had a c-section. Although the view from the 3rd story is nice. Over our two year stay, we had some issues getting maintenance done in a timely manor. From everything to our dishwasher leaking, toilet leaking, fridge shelving being broken and never fixed, to our washer and dryer going out. As of now all of the maintenance staff has quit, including some or most of the office staff. The apartments have really gone downhill, which is why I'm assuming staff is leaving as well. The new move in's are so ghetto, driving way too fast for a parking lot - will dang near run over you and your children!!! Will blast their stereos late at nights and loiter in the parking lot late at night while smoking and drinking. Half of the complex is full of unattended children, wrecking the landscape and digging in the dirt. Also people don't pick up after their pets and there is poop everywhere! Not to mention the pool is almost always dirty. I don't recommend you go for a dip. People will park in handicap stalls with no handicap sign, and will park no op vehicles on the ground taking up already sparse parking. We've even had people park in our assigned parking stall! After two years of living here and watching this place decline, I am happy to say my tenancy is over. The only helpful staff member in the office is leaving as well. Also I will say, that I've had the best downstairs neighbors ever! Never once complained about us walking or running our dishwasher. Best of luck to all future residents. read more

The property is in awful condition. Do not move here. The maintenance are inefficient and dumb if you ask me. Under qualified in every aspect of maintenance and maintaining a huge complex as this one. There's a Russian who can barely speak English and doesn't have the skills to complete the repairs. There's two Latino men who also work maintenance, one being a supervisor who's very arrogant and extremely unqualified. Has no idea what he's doing. If you love your property, don't waste your time moving here. You'll be at total loss. The parking isn't the best, the trash receptacles are always dirty and full. The pool is never cleaned. There's broken trees all over the property which I would assume is a breach of habilitation under California law keeping the walkways free of debris. The parking lot and walkways are never steam cleaned and there's plenty of pets here. The tenants with pets allow their pets to poop all over the property without cleaning up behind them and there's pet poop bags throughout the property. The office teams very irresponsible, vindictive, and under qualified as well. You can tel they don't have the educational background to manage the property. Very entry level skilled. I guess that's why they work here. Tenants have complained about rodents and bugs in their units they didn't bring here. I cannot stress the issues enough as to why you shouldn't move here. KEEP LOOKING!! If new property management takes over and turn things around then yes, other than that, NO! RUN! read more

This is a beautiful complex, the grounds are well kept and beautifully landscaped. The park next door and trail down the hill are both fantastic. The maintenance staff is very friendly and are generally very fast to respond to requests. They seem to take pride in the repairs they do, which makes a huge difference in the quality of the work. Everyone in the office is always very available, understanding, and fast to respond to questions or concerns. The only complaint we have is that the trash and recycling dumpsters are often left out for days in the parking lot - either to get ready for the trucks to pick them up, or after they've already been picked up. It's not a huge issue, just annoying to have to drive around them for a few days every week. read more

I love the office staff, maya is always on it if there is something wrong with the apt she ALWAYS gets there in a sufficient time to take care of the problem. Always helpful in answering questions and if they dont know they find out and get back prompt with a answer, I just wish we had a gym here and maybe a area to sit and smoke with ashtrays, that would not bother other tenants, instead of standing in the parking lot or my car other then that I feel I will be here until I move outta state and that's not happening no time soon. read more

My worst experience ever, when we arrived apartment it was not vacuumed, the kitchen has some broken cabinets, the bathroom was not clean with soap leftovers and hair in the drain, the refrigerator didn't seal properly, the bathtub was clog, we put everything on the initial inspection sheet and they didn't sign it back or did anything to solve it, they clean common areas once a year, on fall the leafs stay for 3 to 4 weeks on the ground, you can't walk on the hallways, they never change bulbs on the hallways, never clean garbage containers, really bad maintenance, I lived there 8 months and they clean the stairs one time only!!! Neighbors are noisy sometimes and they don't do anything to solve it, I paid a break lease fee of $2,675 to get out of there and left the unit sparkling clean, and on top they asked me for a fee of $675 for painting (not needed) and cleaning fee (I'm not kidding!!!) and they threat you sending to collections if you don't pay it ASAP. I recently moved to Cornerstone at Gale Ranch. The staff is amazing. Andrew the manager is nice and Myah the leasing consultant is incredibly helpful. My neighbors are all friendly and quiet but there are parts of the complex that are louder than others but over all it's an affordable place to live in San Ramon. Maintenance staff is on top of everything. They responded to my issues in a very timely manner. read more

I lived for one year at cornerstone apartments. To my horror they deducted $400 from my security deposit despite we left apartment crystal clean, no damage at all and as an explanation they said they deducted charges for carpet usage but there were no such damage to it was just regular wear. Please refrain from these apartments if you dont want to bear loss for your security deposit. read more

I would like to start with WOW! Great Community very nice and beautiful place to live in. As soon as you enter the leasing office the staff greet you with a warm and welcoming attitude. They work with you step by step and they make sure to answer any questions or concerns you have. The apartments are nice, spacious , very clean and well maintained. This place is supposed to be low income restricted apartments yet they raise your rent between $130 - $200 every year. They send you a lease renewal 1 mo before and are good about remaining you every chance they get. Once you sign they don't tell you that your rent is now $200 more. They are bad with getting back to you on maintenance issues. They do take section 8. When your neighbors start to hit your wall because you drop something or your dog is running at 10am they start to bang on the ceiling. They complain about you then the office is good to send you emails and actually call you about how your downstairs neighbors are upset that your walking. Lol really!!! Yet when you complain to the office how they cuss at your 11 yr old and bang the freaking celling even when you freaking fart or probably crap and we are to noisy when walking they tell us go talk to them. But they don't call that neighbor to tell them to stop hitting the ceiling. Why because they are on section 8 that's how we felt. This place is becoming real ghetto. For $2,900 you would expect something high end and classy. Especially in San Ramon. Ppl don't last here more then 2 yrs. Beware before you rent here. It's not worth a penny. read more

Horribly built buildings. Walls are way too thin. You can hear the neighbors, even if they are just talking and walking. Too much noise, there is a daycare right by the office so all the blocks around the office have all the noise from the daycare and this is as early as 7am and as late as 6pm. Neighbors going up and down the stairs make a lot of noise day and night. Overall, it is an ok apartment (although counters stain and peel off easily ), in a really good area of San Ramon but the noise becomes a real disturbance especially if your bedrooms are close to the parking lot, stairway and office. You won't get any sleep! Marisela and the manager are the only reasonable, nice ones. I would hate to have to move in just a year, but I don't think I will be renewing here. read more

I've been living here for over three years now and loved the location / school district and most importantly, it was affordable -- as we qualified for reduced rent. It was important to me that rent was controlled and discussed this at length when we applied with then asst. mgr. AJ, who answered us that "if rent increases they are minimal" so we made the move. The first two years our rent only went up by $100 each time, which we felt was reasonable but this year a whopping $550 increase! What happened to the affordability factor?? This is unreasonable and after multiple conversations with staff about how we like living here, can't afford the new increase, have never been late in our rent payments, etc., we are wished best of luck in "finding a place that is more suitable". ... wow!! I guess I will take my measly $2,500 monthly and go. read more

GHETTO! The new management doesn't care who they let move in. No background checks or anything. Mya and another lady were property managers when I first moved there. They were awesome and stayed on top of everything. They're no longer there which forced me to move. When new managers came there was so much more nuisance and the good tenants began moving out. The new tenants not to sound racist were black and moving all of their friends to the property. I notice they drive through with the music really loud, even at 3am. They smoked marijuana outside of my window all times of night and morning. In which we have a no smoking within 25ft of windows and entrances ordinance. They were always outside arguing underneath my window to the point I couldn't hear my television. Then they let friends and family move in with no problem. They even had a car wash going on in the parking lot at one point. I noticed they were dumping everything everywhere, didn't even think about putting it in the trash cans. They need to do a better job at screening tenants. It's better to have vacancies than moving all the good people out to turn this into the ghetto. This apartment complex is going down hill by the day. Oh yeah, not to mention when the guest can't find parking they park in the tenants parking lot, and you have no idea where to find them to move their car. I've even had drunk people come stand at my door calling someone else's name. TRULY THE GHETTO OF SAN RAMON. If you wanna live in an environment like Oakland, Antioch, etc etc. I'm sure the new property management would love it next thing you know there's gonna be all type of drug sales going on. read more

I've been here since 2012. I love living here. The location is great which is close to Safeway, Petes, a few restaurants, park and walking trail. The size of the apartment is decent and rent is affordable. The staff is friendly. But my only complaint is they never call you back when you have a maintenance issue. I left a message 3 weeks ago and yet to hear from anyone. I'm not sure if they ever check their messages. Besides that I do like living here. read more

I have lived in Cornerstone since March of 2008, and it is spectacular! The location first of all is absolutely amazing. Safeway is right across the street; Creekside Park is adjacent to the property; and tons of schools are within walking distance. Sometimes I feel very spoiled! Every summer the pool is where we see the neighbors and spend some wonderful time. I like the diversity, because I have a child, and it is family friendly, but there are also some residence in their early 20's, it's nice to see the assorted population get along. Feels like home. The staff has been absolutely amazing. Always so kind when I see them around the property. I have called or emailed and gotten a response every time. We had an emergency and they responded in the middle of the night for us. Also, a fire alarm went off a few years back, and they all responded with magnificent care, even though nothing was on fire. Really, this kind of thing can not be beat. read more

The staff is good, the property is keep well, and it is very convenient to Dublin and San Ramon shopping. The downside is the only amenity that they have is a pool; no spa, rec room, weight, room, tennis court and they charge the same as other 1 & 2 bedrooms in the area with all of the amenities. If you are looking for pre-school on site, then they have that. They advertise on rent-Com that there are Chef kitchens which is a not true. Average aging white appliances with laminate tops and vinyl flooring. The apartments are in need of major renovation and they do go for the cheapest everything. As far as places to live, it is fine, but set your sights low if you are looking for anything upscale or modern. read more

It's a perfect apartment for us. It's very peaceful here. Great location. Safeway, gas station, UPS store, dry cleaner, Wells Fargo, Chinese food, Bobba place are just right around the corner. A nice park & children playground with jogging track are just right next to the complex with its own enterence gate from the apartment complex. 15 minutes walking to Quail Run elementary. AC is cold in a hot summer day. It's a nice & clean apartment at affordable price compare to other apartments in the area. read more

These people advertise apartments that are not even available. They have a 3-12 month waiting list for 1 & 2 bedroom apartments. Knowing this they allow the credit check to go through and then won't refund your money. They also do not call back when answering an ad on Craigslist. NEVER do any business with them without going in person and looking them in the EYE! read more

The staff here is RANCID. They do NOT care about you. They are NOT knowledgable. They are NOT helpful. They do NOT have any of your emergency info correct. There is a new person "working" in the office every couple of months. They will answer the phone 1 out of 10 times and you will have to leave a message that will never be answered. So when you do get fed up with leaving unanswered messages you will have to physically go to the office to talk to the manager (Alfonso). But unfortunately the manager (Alfonso) is NEVER in. So you will have to deal with his extremely rude and ignorant secretary person. Over the almost five years we have lived here our rent has increased nearly $500. If you have an issue with a neighbor or the cleanliness of the complex you will find NO relief from the Cornerstone staff. And the walls are paper thin and it doesn't matter if you're on the top floor. read more
