My husband and I have been coming to cornerstone dental care since 2012. Dr bae and his team have always been exceptional and our experiences are great at every visit. I had an after hours emergency tonight bc I so happened to somehow lodge a small piece of fish bone in my teeth which immediately resulted in pressure and super tight teeth spacing - so tight that it was impossible to run floss through the 4 teeth in that area - floss would just break. With a wedding coming up in 2 weeks I knew I should've made this appointment sooner but Dr. Bae was more than accommodating given my short timeline. I had some yellowing and chipping here and there that never bothered me too much but for my wedding, I definitely wanted everything to be in the best possible condition. Dr. Bae basically saw me during his lunch hour and despite being fully booked, did not rush through the procedure and made sure to get me the best results. His chairside manner is very laid back yet informative, not once did I wonder what was going on. I finished in just under and hour and love my smile more than ever now! First off, I should point out that I am deathly afraid of going to the dentist. Having had only not-great experiences in the past and generally finding that most dentists don't have any chair-side manners--some no manners at all---I avoided them like the plague. Cornerstone Dental Care has really changed that for me. Even though I went into my first appointment hyperventilating with fear, I was really put at ease by the friendly staff and then by Dr. Bae. The office is all state of the art but even better than that is the actual care and personal attention that is given to you. Dr. Bae is meticulously thorough but also really patient in showing you your x-rays, explaining what is going on with your teeth and what needs to be done. The teeth cleaning I got here is the best I've had and even the root canal that had to be done wasn't so bad at all. Seriously. You can always tell when dentists or any others in the medical field are in it for the money. Dr. Bae is certainly not one of them. I've been spending a lot of time lately trying to find a new dentist, specifically one that specializes in orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry. After numerous hours spent trying to find the right one, I had a really good feeling about Dr. Bae at Cornerstone Dental Care when I found his website and Yelp reviews. I realized very quickly that Dr. Bae is in very popular demand and it was initially difficult to get a last minute appointment within my preferred time frame. Imagine my surprise and delight that Amber (the OM) went above and beyond to work with my scheduling preference so I wouldn't miss much time from work. She was so patient, courteous and helpful and gave me a call as soon as they had an earlier date/slot available. Dr. Bae himself even gave me a call the day before my appointment to introduce himself and his availability in case I had any questions and concerns. WHO DOES THAT?!? I've never in my life met a dentist and his staff who have gone out of their way to that degree. I was very impressed and appreciative. Flash forward to the my appointment date (today). Every patient seemed so content there (this is a dentist's office, right???). I didn't wait long at all. Every staff member I met was so nice, caring and professional: from greeting to cleaning, x-rays to consult. Overdue review for a wonderful dentist! When I moved to Orange County I knew I had to find a great dentist. I've had a lot of dental work done in the past (root canals, jaw surgery, crowns etc.) and it was very important for me to find a dentist that did great work. Dr. Bae definitely delivers! He is so smart and actually takes the time to explain all procedures he does (and why he recommends them) and will expertly answer any questions you may have. He is very skillful and all the procedures I've had in his office have been virtually pain free! Furthermore, he takes a conservative treatment approach; he will not recommend any procedures unless they are actually necessary. This in particular was very important to me. I recently got my crowns redone by Dr. Bae and every step of the process went great. They look wonderful and I couldn't be happier with the result! Additionally, Dr. Bae's hygienists and office staff are beyond wonderful. Everyone (including Dr. Bae) will get back to you quickly with any questions or concerns. Whether you are just a two times a year teeth cleaning person (like my husband) or have a little more complicated of a situation (like myself) you will love Dr. Bae. It's hard to put a short review for Cornerstone Dental Care, but here it goes: Parking: plenty available every time I visited. Office: Very Clean, TV/ movies, comfortable chairs, ....etc Receptionist: Very nice young lady, welcoming and friendly. I had a lot of work to be done in a very short time, but she worked her magic and voila! Dr. Bae: He introduced himself as Thomas! Very down to earth guy. He gave me all the time I needed and his full attention to me to explain what mygoalsare,then he explained what will need to be done to meet those goals. This was the first time, a dentist didn't make me feel uncomfortable by telling me how bad my teeth are. Like mentioned by other reviewers, this guy is not in this business to get rich he actually like his job and cares a lot about his patients. I posted a photo of his work here. Dr. Bae gave me a better solution (my previous dentist thought it can't be done) for a fraction of the cost. Zero pain, even when he injected the numbing agent and when he pulled out my cracked wisdom tooth. Honestly, these folks exceeded my expectations, which is very hard to do with me. I'd have to say, Dr. Bae is one of the nicest dentists around. Today I went back to his office since last year. I initially went in for an Invisalign consult, and he took the time to explain everything. He's very patient and helps you be at ease. I have had a little bit of a bad experience with previous dentist treatments. But even though I haven't done dental work yet, I already feel comfortable going through with the procedure. I've since moved out of state and make appointments whenever I come home to southern California because I trust these people with my life. Just kidding. I trust them with my teeth. What can I say besides remarkable? A truly wonderful experience from the minute I walked through the door. Nikki at the front desk was incredibly professional, pleasant and eager to please. In for a routine cleaning I had Angelica as my hygienist. Very, very good at her job explaining exactly what she was doing step by step through the process. She noticed a couple of issues during my cleaning and gave Dr. Bae the heads up. I was so surprised after first meeting Dr. Bae as he spent several minutes with me discussing his concept of dentistry as an approach to total health rather than a quick fix. After reviewing my x-rays and doing a thorough examination we discussed a strategy by which to solve the problems he discovered. Rather than try and do everything at once, (which can be especially overwhelming.) he prioritized based on need. I truly can't say enough about this place. Every single person here seemed deeply concerned about insuring you have the best experience possible. First things first, if you make an appointment here, let's say at 10a, your going to be seen by the hygienist or Dr Bae himself within a few seconds, they are amazingly punctual. But since they are so awesome, appointments are made pretty far in advance. Besides cleanings, I have had 3 silver fillings replaced with white fillings, one was broken/chipping but the others were replaced for cosmetic reasons. I literally did not feel any pain when Dr Bae was replacing my fillings, even the broken one! I've honestly had worse pain at "routine cleanings" at other offices. It's not just Dr Bae that's awesome, every member of his staff is amazing, from the ladies answering the phones to the dental hygienists, It doesn't matter what you read here, go try him for yourself you'll understand why everyone gives this place 5 stars. This review is a long time coming. I can simply say all of the reviews rated at 5 stars reflect the same experiences I had, but I must add my own 2 cents: To start, Dr. Bae's staff is WONDERFUL! Each person is warm, welcoming and most importantly helpful. That being said, even if they weren't nice, even if getting an appointment was impossible, even if I had to wait for an hour in the waiting room (none of which would ever happen here) I would STILL have Dr. Bae as my dentist. Dr. Bae is only the second dentist I have been to in my entire life. My previous dentist took care of me, literally, from the time my first tooth came in until I moved to California 4 years ago. As you can imagine, I had a strong rapport with my dentist and a significant level of comfort. It is astonishing, that in the first 5 minutes of speaking with Dr. Bae, I had that very same level of comfort with him as I did with my dentist of 28 years! From a professional standpoint, he is thorough, intelligent and genuinely listens to what you say. He is kind, warm and very relate-able. I cannot say enough about this man and the confidence that I have in him as my dentist. During my last visit, I begged him to go to medical school so he could be my primary care physician too. I went for a checkup/cleaning for the first time today and he was the best as the other yelp reviews state. I've never been to a dentist who thoroughly explains every process.. even with a simple cleaning. Today, I got an old, cracked silver filling replaced with a white filling and I was SOOO nervous because I haven't gotten major filling work done in over a decade! This is not a weee little filling, it's a huge filling in one of my molars. Dr. Bae is extremely unprofessional. I was asking questions about an upcoming emergency procedure and he completely lost his cool. Raised his voice at me, had an incredibly aggressive tone, accused me of calling him a liar (which I never did) and even shamed me for having previous dental anxiety at an appointment three years ago. No one should be called out for a medical condition that's been diagnosed by a doctor. (General anxiety disorder stemming from childhood cancer). Dr. Bae has a temper and will lose it on you. I have been there with them for a while now. I did my x ray. Full month clean. And fixed 3 of my broken teeth. I was super nervous about the snoreness and pain during doing my teeth. Cornerstone was awesome: Dr. Bae and all the staff. From the patient setup portal, to the friendly greeting at reception, to all the dental service and follow up. Long story short, I had visited another dentist to fix a toothache I was having and they made it worse! Rather than go back to that same dentist, I decided to drive all the way from Los Angeles to visit Dr. Bae who I had seen once a long time ago. Dr. Bae took the time to review my notes and X-ray from the other dentist, talked through his clinical analysis and recommended procedures, and made me feel confident I knew exactly what the potential problem was and how he was going to treat it. The treatment itself was awesome. I never once had a novocaine injection that went as smoothly as this. I literally felt no pain, not even a pinch because he told me he would take his time with the injection but it would be much more comfortable. I'm sure he could have applied the novocaine hurriedly and move on to the next patient but he didn't and the difference was much appreciated. Dr. Bae also took care of my toothache, after the other doctor said I might have temperature sensitivity forever and possibly need a root canal. I 100% recommend Dr. Bae as a dentist, and having read the one star reviews below, I say he is worth the wait. Guess what? A toothache is not an emergency scenario that entitles you to go ahead of other patients. I have a suggestion for you if you need to wait....chew on the other side! It works pretty well. There was a reason everyone raves about Dr. Alana and Dr. Bae. I made appointments for myself and my husband. My appointment went smoothly and Dr Alana was attentive and thorough. My husband has a fear of going to the dentist and he actually put off going for several years. It took lots of coaxing and threatening to finally get him in. The staff understood and accommodated his needs. Dr. Alana and Angelica were amazing with his deep cleaning and made him feel comfortable and at ease throughout his appointment.
