Ohhhh Cornerstone. So many interesting moments at Cornerstone. I've never seen a day where Corner wasn't open. I've also never seen a day where someone isn't drunk, dancing their hearts out in the middle of the dance floor. Doesn't matter what time it is. Cornerstone's definitely in the "happening" area of Raleigh at the moment - Glenwood South. And it's also added on another building so that it can meet the high demand of young people trying to get wasted on Fridays and Saturdays (and every other day of the week). The bar has 3 buildings total with couches and seating areas on the perimeter. I think there are about 5 bars total throughout the complex. Wait time at the bars is pretty manageable, but don't come here if you're afraid of crowds. Cornerstone's very rowdy and there are usually events and other things going on here throughout the week. Definitely stop by with a group of friends if you're trying to turn up. read more

Company employees literally committed a crime and are discriminatory. Went out in the relatively earlier hours of the night (only about 11pm) to be able to have a good time before it got crowded or hectic. The building was only slightly busy, with a lot of space. Essential to me because I am disabled, and require the use of disability aids in order to enjoy places like this safely. One of those aids is a perfectly behaved, task trained service dog. Under federal and state law as long as my dog remains well behaved, establishments such as this one legally are required to grant access to him. The whole place had rooms that were completely empty, and my dog and I would've been able to navigate and exist in this establishment safely and without getting in anyones way. However, bouncers immediately denied access to my service dog, making explicitly clear that it was because of my service dog that I was denied access. Which is ILLEGAL under federal and NC state laws, and is legally labeled disability discrimination. We just left, as this was one of many places to turn us away at this point and we were disheartened and upset at the amount of ableism and how little education these "trained" employees had. Save your time and go to somewhere with better reviews. This and many other places on this block are going down the gutter and are, if my experiences were at all indicative, going to end up experiencing a load of lawsuits and legal trouble. read more

Very shady establishment in downtown Raleigh. Bouncers were very rude and pushy. There were also multiple fights that broke out between the bouncers and other people. My party noticed multiple people who were stumbling drunk/couldn't form sentences, but the bartenders still served them. If it's a Friday/Saturday, good luck getting a drink or going to use the restroom. They don't limit the amount of people that can come in, so you have to wade through large groups of people to get anywhere. Just generally felt very unsafe the whole time I was there. Spend your money at a different club like Alchemy or Legends, because this place ain't it. read more

I got physically assaulted (shoved) by a bartender when I asked numerous times to open a tab and get 2 shots of Don Julio and appeared irritated to him when he wouldn't stop serving girls their drinks, even if they waited for a shorter period of time. He took time out of his way to get physical with me when I asked sarcastically how hard it was to get some good liquor around here. I've been here many times and I truly try & stay away. The reason I gave it two stars instead of one, is because I've had some fun nights (maybe 2-3) with girlfriends, dancing the night away after a few or more drinks. Service is lacking. I know it's a bar and people get drunk, and it's late, but don't act like you hate being there when it's your JOB to serve drinks. Secondly, I hate how crowded it gets. Who wants to go to a bar where it's so packed you can't even walk? Nope. Last, I had a truly horrible experience maybe 6 months ago. I went there with a girlfriend, and was in the line for the bathroom. I was NOT drunk by any means and my girlfriend hadn't even been drinking. We are in line for probably 10 minutes, not sure what the people ahead of us in the bathroom were doing. Well these chics were BEHIND us in line, and not sure if they were drunk or the bouncer just thought maybe they were hot and wanted their attention, but as soon as the individuals from the bathroom came out, these girls told bouncer man that we cut them. Cut them? Am I in elementary school? The bouncer then proceeds to let them go ahead of us. That wasn't cool, so I walked to the men's bathroom because I was about to use it, or maybe just prove a point. Before I could even open the door, bouncer literally tries and almost picks me up, grabs my arm, HARD, and basically shoves me out of the bar. This was harassment and disgusting. On New Years Eve a group of friends and I went to Cornerstone Tavern at 1130pm, a place we have been several times with no problem. When we walked up the bouncer told us there was a membership, something we had never heard of-ever. He said it was new, recently started. We asked him how to obtain a membership and he said that they were out of papers, but people could apply online, however the membership couldn't be approved tonight. I pulled up the website and there was nothing about a membership on there. During the time that he was telling us about the membership he continued to let several people in, saying that he "knew" the people. I asked the people inside and people he was letting in who were in line if they had memberships and they had no clue what we were talking about. This led me to question why we weren't being let in; was it race, age, maybe gender? How could a group of professionals who had been there several times not be allowed in under the guise of a "membership". Have you given your bouncers the ability to decide who they do and don't want in your tavern simply by their personal preferences? When we went to the bouncer we were not drunk, rude, or disrespectful. We were just a group of friends who were trying to go to your club as we have been before. Well, ok- there are some redeeming qualities. The fire pits are nice. And it may be fun to come here on a weekday when it's not so crowded. Even though it was packed, there was fairly easy access to the bar. And that's where the good ends. Douchey crowd. Annoying people. Watered down drinks. Not a fun place on a busy Friday. I like to unwind, not be surrounded by loud, douchey people at the end of a long week. That said, I did make a new friend. (Non- douchey). Not everyone is a douche. Just 80% of people here. The closer you get to it the heavier the smell gets. It's basically a smelly frat house with 90% guys dry humping girls in the Cornerstone (literally in the name). The drinks were ok but they have a wild formula and tiered system for how they will charge you for drinks if you pay with card. Most of the table camp fires weren't even working. The reason the experience is so bad is the staff is very racist. Security at the door have no manners and don't know how to treat customers. My friend wasn't even allowed to enter the club without a reason. They didn't violate any of the dress codes and had valid identifications. Went here Friday night with some friends. This bar is located right in downtown Raleigh. From the outside, this bar looks like it could be someone's house. There are swings & seating outside & the steps leading up to the bar look like your walking up steps to someone's house. Inside it starts to look more like a bar. It's your average looking place with a decent amount of space. The outside part of this bar is rather dark however as they do not have that many lights out there. When we got up to the bar to order drinks, the bartender let us know that one of us needed to be "a member" in order for us to get drinks. One of my buddies decided to become one & he was charged $20 for the membership. It was a little odd, I actually have never seen that before. Once my buddy became the member the service wasn't bad at all. The bartenders were getting our orders pretty quickly & the prices were fair. If I could give Cornerstone zero stars, I would... I do NOT feel safe going out at Cornerstone anymore. This establishment has gone downhill... Last weekend, I and many others witnessed the most vile and vicious attack on two girls that could have led to some real physical long-term damage, and what did security do? Nothing!! The two attackers pushed themselves INSIDE the bathroom after these two girls and proceeded to beat them when their guards were down, completely unprovoked. I watched many people try to find security to help these two girls get out of that situation, and yet somehow, the two attackers were the ones that didn't get kicked out....are you kidding me? I didn't have anything to do with this, and it was the most disturbing thing to watch go down... On top of this, this isn't even the first time I've seen something like this happen. I have watched the nastiest fights between others with little to no security, with some individuals walking away hurt. These instances have added up and don't make me feel good about returning. Security at Cornerstone is NOT good, any assault can happen at any time and nothing will be done. Catch me anywhere else but here. Went out for a friends birthday this past weekend. They wanted to go to alchemy across the street. It sucked so I left for cornerstone so I could be comfortable and get away from all the noise. Within 5 minutes of sitting down on the patio I was told I had to leave with no reason being given. I politely asked the bouncer multiple times what his reasoning was before being forcibly removed. While waiting in line at alchemy a guy comes from across the street to tell them not to let me in and I found out I've been banned there too despite only spending a total of 3 minutes inside earlier in the night. I was out for the night , celebrating my husband birthday and my brother who had on ripped jeans and long dread locs was denied in this establishment. I went to the bouncer who said his name was Brad who was VERY rude and disrespectful said he had to change his jeans because they had rips in them.
