My husband planned a surprise long weekend getaway at Cornerstone Victorian B & B for my birthday and it was a great experience. The young couple that own and run the B&B were so friendly and accommodating. The room was wonderful, with a jet tub, heated bathroom floor and a bed that felt heavenly. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The homemade cookies in the evening were a definite bonus! Stayed here 1 night in July 2023. This place really exceeded expectations in just about every way. Short drive from Lake George. The hosts were able to accommodate our 2 young kids with a cot bed and the room still felt plenty spacious. Breakfast was absolutely incredible! When planning a trip to Lake George, I came across Cornerstone Victorian Bed & Breakfast. I was skeptical as they did not have many reviews and had a small online presence. I am extremely happy I chose to stay here. My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. The hosts, Doug and Louise are 2 of the nicest, friendliest, hard working people I have ever met. They have set the bar extremely high since this is the first time I have stayed at a bed & breakfast. First, do not expect a modern, sleek hotel when coming here. The house is old, however it is kept in beautiful condition and the age simply adds country charm. It is clean and well maintained. There are only 5 or 6 rooms total here, each are a little different from each other and offer a different experience. My wife and I stayed in the "Victorian". All rooms do have a private bath and I believe they all have air conditioning as well. From the moment we arrived, until the minute we left, Doug and Louise were so pleasant and gracious. They even helped us carry our bags up the stairs to our room. Louise cooks a homemade 5 course breakfast every morning. She is an amazing cook. She is also very accommodating and will go out of her way to make you happy. I left there 2 days ago, and I'm still thinking about some of the food we are here. Seriously, after eating her breakfast, you won't want lunch. She also features a homemade dessert every day. Again, a very nice treat and she's also a great baker. They also offer a beverage bar that is available 24 hours. Included is bottled water, soda, an assortment of different teas, coffee, hot chocolate. As far as price is concerned, I feel they are extremely reasonable. They offer packages in the off season that can't be beat. Doug and Louise..... A special B&B gem in the mountains. From the beautiful garden flowers to the comfortable, modern but historic bed and large in room bathrooms,, wonderfully serene wrap around porch, WiFi and TV (for those of us that need it),special dessert treat every evening to the most kind and gracious hosts - Doug and Louise - I can't say enough about our 4 night stay. The gourmet breakfast each morning deserves comment all alone! My husband and I couldn't wait for each mornings surprise. That said, if you want a bit more simple or with dietary restrictions Louise will do that too (but seriously - give up the diet just to experience her talent for making each breakfast a gourmet delight) Literally located at the foot of Hackensack Mountain allows for a great morning walk right off the front porch! We also found the quiet town of Warrensburg to be centrally located for short drives (15 minutes or less) for dinners at top restaurants in the Lake George area. Doug was so helpful with restaurant selections - both go to ones and perhaps don't go . Lake George, Bolton Landing, Glen Falls, Outlets, Saratoga Springs - short drives. Lake Placid less than 2 hours and so worth the visit. We've been to several B&B's in many US and European towns and can say with great conviction this is the top one ever! For sure we will be back. We just stayed at the Cornerstone Victorian B & B for the first time, and it will surely not be our last. From now on, Doug and Louise and their beautiful home will be the gold standard by which all future B & Bs will be judged. First of all, the 1904 Queen Anne mansion is absolutely stunning. It appears to be entirely original, and has been absolutely meticulously maintained. Architecture buffs and historic home fans will revel in such period details as abundant fine woodwork (the house was built by a lumber magnate) stained glass windows, decorative hardware and terra cotta fireplace surrounds. The Master suite features a balcony overlooking the beautiful garden, and guests can use the handy porte-cochère to pass their luggage into the house with minimal steps, just as they did in the goode olde days. The house is furnished with beautiful antique furniture and decorative arts. The rooms are equally exquisite. We stayed in both the Eastlake and Master suites. Both featured king size canopy beds that were out of this world in comfort. The bathrooms were also fantastic, with the Eastlake boasting a two-person jacuzzi. But the real treasure to be found at the Cornerstone is not wood, stone or glass; it's the people. Doug and Louise are the most joyful, kind and generous hosts I have ever encountered. They love their jobs, their house, their family, and each other -- and that love is passed right on to the guests. You will never feel more welcome anywhere else. You will be fed gloriously here - Louise is a consummate chef and baker. Her desserts while we visited were a delicious walnut tart and heavenly lemon layer cake. Some highlights of our 5-course breakfast were homemade pastry, quiche, waffles, egg sandwiches and muesli. Special treats were vegetables and flower garnishes from the house's garden. There is very little here that isn't perfect, but it is worth noting that in summer air conditioning is provided by individual units in the suites and the downstairs common areas can get warm. Also there is no powder room on the first floor; I like to wake early and run and it would have been great not to have to disturb my sleeping partner by fumbling back into the room to use the toilet. The 24/7 coffee and tea bar more than makes up for that, however. The Cornerstone Victorian is everything a B&B strives to be, and more. I can't wait to go back. read more

This B&B near Lake George gets 5 -stars for three main reasons: 1) the inn keepers, Louise and Doug, make THE BEST breakfast you will ever have in a B&B or quite possibly any restaurant you ever go to. It is a 5-course breakfast- typically a fruit medley to start, a crumb cake or homemade dougnut, a pastry/vegetable tidbit, home made granola parfait, and then a choice of pecan praline pancakes or a quiche with bacon on the side or a combination of the two. These are just examples and every day is something different and better than the last. They will even whip up some good old fashioned eggs if you prefer, of course with home made toast and bacon for your 5th course. After this breakfast you really don't even need to eat lunch! In addition, when you come home at night there is a home made desert waiting for you and a fridge filled with cold drinks. 2) the rooms are very nice and clean and luxurious. Ours had a Sleep Number bed, heated bathroom floor, and double jacuzzi tub. 3) the value - we paid $159-179 per night, but got a 4th night free. We would easily compare this to other accommodations we have stayed in that are priced much higher. In fact, last year we moved on for the last night to another B&B down the road that was $199 a night and it was a huge disappintment compared to this place. If you are visiting Lake George and not staying DIRECTLY on the water, then this is the only place to consider... read more

Staying here was a great experience. Louise and Doug are extremely accommodating and delightful people, the house is beautiful and the food was incredible. We stayed in the Victorian Chamber, which is complete with a two-person jacuzzi bath and heated floors, a very nice feature after spending much of the day outside in February. The linens and towels were clean, the bed was very comfortable and the decor was tasteful and elegant. After we checked in, Doug was extremely helpful in telling us where are all of the good local places to eat dinner are and Louise put out a tray of cupcakes, that were possibly the greatest pastry anyone has ever concocted, for all of the guests to pick at. The breakfast at the Cornerstone is one of the largest meals you will ever eat and you'll in all likelihood have a very difficult time not eating every bit of it. We can't wait to come back here the next time we're in the Lake George area. read more

HIGHLY recommend! My boyfriend and I stayed at the Cornerstone Victorian B&B this weekend during our first visit to Lake George and could not have been happier with our visit. The house and our room (the Victorian Chamber) were charming, beautiful, and immaculately maintained. The owners Doug and Louise were incredible hosts - so friendly and accommodating, provided solid recommendations for activities to do in the area, and served an amazing 5-course breakfast both mornings that I miss already! Our room was super cozy. The queen-sized bed was very comfortable and the huge whirlpool bathtub (complete with bubble bath) provided much-needed relaxation after a long day of exploring. The breakfasts were hearty and homemade, served at a long table in the dining room with all the other guests, and included dishes such as a vegetable frittata, egg sandwich, almond coffee cake, applesauce pancakes, muesli with yogurt, and of course endless coffee. Doug and Louise were very attentive, never letting anyone go hungry or thirsty, and timed the courses like experts. Oh and there was dessert waiting for us at the end of both nights - such a nice gesture. We felt very welcomed from the moment we arrived and did not want to leave. I wish we could have spent a few more days here, as we spent a lot of time exploring and not enough time hanging out in the house. This is my 8th or 9th summer in a row staying at The Cornerstone Victorian. Owners Doug and Louise are consummate hosts/inn keepers. Their painstaking effort to maintain the inside decor and the stunning gardens in the front and back is apparent. This B&B oozes with old world Victorian charm however they do have 21st century amenities such as free wifi, flat screen TV's, modern bathrooms etc.. There are only 5 guest rooms but all are very comfortable- each room has something unique that makes it stand out. Louise makes amazing sweets for an evening snack/dessert and her 5 course homemade breakfast is out of this world and would cost a fortune on its own in NYC or a fancy resort. I truly can't say enough about how amazing Doug and Louise are- they're a genuine, kindhearted down to earth couple who take pride in pampering their guests with warmth, charm and comfort. We needed a weekend out of the city and since we wanted to snowboard at Gore Mountain, we decided to stay at the Cornerstone Victorian. Louise and Doug are very gracious hosts. Every room was unique and each had its own bathroom (which some B&B's don't have). We stayed in the Eastlake room, since there was a whirlpool. It was so comfortable and spacious! The homemade breakfast was delicious, but I think we were stuffed by course three! Coffee cake, fresh brewed coffee, granola, waffles, walnut tart, etc! My fiancee was most impressed by the complimentary dessert, soft drinks, and coffee/ hot chocolate station thats available all night. Hotels don't offer this perk! Best bed and breakfast I've ever been to. The house is a gorgeous, fully restored Victorian home, complete with original woodwork. Doug graciously welcomed us by pointing out the 24-hour coffee and tea bar. Our room was immaculate, gorgeous and comfortable, and stocked with water, shampoos and fluffy bath towels. The shower was great. Best of all was breakfast, a delectable five course meal - we left the table absolutely stuffed. Doug and Louise were lovely, warm and charming. I agree with everyone who gave this B&B five stars. They are the must helping and considerate hosts I have ever meat, I have been to about 100 B&B's. Never have I had such a wonderful breakfast, we stayed three nights and each morning our breakfasts was exceptional. The evening baked snack was also wonderful. No mather how busy they are they are helpful in finding a good restaurant and something to do. I do not think I will ever be happy in another B&B anywhere. We plan to go back any time we want to visit Saratoga or Lake George. They also do not raise their rates for racing season like every other B&B or Inn or hotel in the area. read more

Cornerstone Victorian B & B is run by a charming couple in an equally charming turn-of-the-century Victorian house. Doug and Louise are attentive to every detail, and incredibly knowledgeable and helpful about things to do in the area (hiking, restaurants, towns to visit, and Martha's ice cream). The rooms were clean and spacious, bathroom was bigger than my NYC studio, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Louise's cooking is AMAZING. The five course breakfast is no joke!
