When…read moreI checked in at the Motel Montreal, the front desk clerk said to follow her and she walked me to the front desk at the Lake Haven hotel next door. The room she gave me had a view of the parking lot. I indicated the room was advertised as having a partial lake view. She didn't offer anything else except to give the number of a reservation manager. I called and texted that number with no response. The number listed on Expedia was for the Sundowner. I called that number with no response. I ended up turning in the keys and working with Expedia to try to get a refund. Customer service is terrible!

Stained beyond belief. Spiders crawling on the walls. Sheets were wrinkled which really made me question how clean they were. We ended up leaving that same day. Normally I would have stuck it out for the two days that we were booked BUT we had our one year old daughter with us and there was NO WAY in hell I'd let her sleep in her pack and play on that disgusting floor. I'm so beyond words disappointed. There's truly no excuse for this sort of negligence of such beautiful property. Parents be warned, pictures are misleading.

When we came up for the wedding shower a couple months out, we saw that the place we originally booked was unacceptable. We drove around looking at different spots, and that's how we found Green Haven Resort. The place truly lives up to its name- a haven! Barbara was wonderful- I was able to book this cabin. The kids stayed in one room and my husband & I in the other. It was a perfect arrangement. The place was clean, safe, peaceful, accommodating and FUN! I very much hope for an occasion to go back, and maybe try to bring extended family together for a reunion weekend on this gem of a property. It exceeded my expectations by far- if you're considering it, GO FOR IT!

One of the bed frames was EXTREMELY loose, which my son discovered in the morning when I jumped in bed to smother him with kisses. Me thinks it's had a little use in its lifetime. The mattresses were very uncomfortable, and the pillows were super puffy and hard. Bring your own if you have a preference. The room was FREEZING cold when we stepped in, so I turned the thermostat up. What I didn't realize until the morning is that there is a separate control for the ac unit. So just make note of that. The bathroom - wow. It totally doesn't match the character of the motel, but WHO CARES!!! It has 9 shower heads, a heated blower for when you're out of the shower and LOTS of hot water!! My sons have never been so clean!! I was a little taken aback by the fact that my credit card number is written down in its entirety on the side of my receipt. I would appreciate that it be destroyed after the room is confirmed to be in the same condition it started. Pretty pricey for what you get, but with limited options around concert time, it suited our needs.

Nope. But the bed was super comfortable, the bathroom clean, and plenty of space to spread out. Really my only complaint is how the beds are set up. One side has plenty of room but the other side has no leg room so if you have to set up a device like a cpap you have to be creative. Last time, we stayed here but just a regular room and again no leg room on one side. Other than that it's a nice place to stay.

The room was spotless, beautiful, and clean. It had all antique furniture, which was all functional and worked without any signs of decay. The bed was wonderfully made, and nothing was out of place during our stay. The television and air-conditioning worked as intended. I attempted to take a shower mid-Tuesday afternoon. After turning on the hot water, I waited a good few minutes for the hot water to actually heat up. Not really anyone's fault; it just took a while. We were on the third floor of an older building - this was fine. The next morning, when I attempted to shower again, the hot water arrived quicker, but when trying to turn the heat down, it took a while. So, the heat in the shower is slow to respond. The staff were amazing. Justin, who resides on the grounds of the inn, was an awesome person who had answers and kindness to every situation that arose. My wife recently became disabled (getting her to the third floor was a bit of work); Justin asked if we wanted breakfast to be brought to her, instead of her coming down. We declined that, she would want to dine in the main dining hall. He was great with suggestions, super courteous, and overall awesome. When we had breakfast the morning of the 24th, Chad was the gentleman taking our order. He was a great person who regaled us with stories, gave us a good laugh, and made sure our orders were correct (wife is also allergic to dairy). He absolutely made the experience better, even if we were at the very tail end of our stay there. The breakfast was excellent; we both ended up eating a sausage breakfast bowl with salsa, bacon, and eggs (I had cheese on mine). Delicious. Our whole experience was fantastic. Matt greeted us upon arrival and showed us to our lovely room called "Bill". I was surprised at how spacious and comfortable the room was. House keeping also did a wonderful job of keeping our room clean and tidy. Breakfast each morning exceed our expectations. I was happy there was a little menu and was told they could pretty much customize anything I'd like. Chad was super personable and always engaged us in good conversation. You could tell how passionate he is about working there. The Inn itself was charming and I enjoyed the Victorian decor. Each day little treats were left in the lobby. The chocolate chip cookies were delicious!! The location was perfect and very walkable to Broadway Street and surrounding areas. It had the county feel. I saw a good size pool, but didn't get the opportunity to use it, due to it still being covered. It was in the 70's and would have felt nice. I truly love that you have the option of playing some shuffleboard or corn hole as you dry off from all the cannon balls you did in the pool. The fire pit is my personal favorite, and love this as a perfect night cap to sit and listen to the songs of nature or music from your phone! If you check in on Yelp, don't forget to claim your s'mores kit! I'm a sucker for s'mores! The room we had, Room #118, was a really quiet room. The housekeeping did a great job preparing the room for our arrival, and cleaned it to perfection on days we wanted the room made up. Our room was equipped with two queen size beds, so there was no cover hogging on this trip. The bathroom is on the smaller side, but comes complete with everything you would need for a getaway. The heated lamps in the bathroom are a nice touch, especially on cooler nights. Our shower had a continuous leak that we couldn't adjust, so we had to let the water drip; we couldn't hear anything over the AC, so that was fine with us. The continental breakfast is on the sweeter, more sugary side, and we honestly decided to explore other options for breakfast to better start our day. If we were going to be bad eating this vacation, we wanted to make the calories count - like, ice cream every night for example.
