Traveling with pets can be stressful, and our situation came with extra challenges in both timing and logistics. From the very first phone call to the final approval, Georgi was amazing -- patient, reassuring, and on top of every detail. Dr. Nguyen, Georgi, Louann, Anna, and the entire team were wonderful. Everyone we interacted with was very patient in the span of about 2 weeks, going back and forth to fulfill the requirements for the an international health certificate and making sure everything is accurate and true. We couldn't even believe our "feisty" cat, Sheba, had such an uneventful time in the treatment area -- I think she liked Dr. Nguyen and the staff! Dr. Nguyen was also very thorough in performing the exam and noted what their previous vet had missed. She also made great assessments and recommendations for our pets' care in the future. I also never felt judged for being conservative with vaccines/medicines and never pressured to get treatments that were not urgently necessary for this visit. We're so happy to have found a veterinary clinic that handles health certificates in-house, with personalized attention to the documents/paperwork instead of partnering with a third-party service provider. On top of that, their prices are very reasonable without compromising the quality of care and service they provide. Location is beautiful, parking was not a problem at all, waiting area had coffee and it's cool to see the original building structure of the clinic that gives it a cozy/downtown look! Their support made a huge difference during a hectic, life-changing time, and for that reason, we highly recommend Corona Del Mar Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a team that truly goes above and beyond!

We love it here! Dr. T and her staff are absolutely incredible--kind, welcoming, and always make us feel so cared for!!!

Where do I begin? My sweet Bentley was cared for by this wonderful animal hospital for years. Unfortunately a week ago today I had to say goodbye to my angel devastating for me he was a part of our family for 16 years. The doctors, the staff are just so caring, you can tell they love animals. They handled this incredibly difficult process so gracefully. I cannot express my appreciation and thankfulness to the entire staff at Corona Del Mar Veterinarian Hospital. I just received the sympathy card from the staff....So kind and thoughtful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Bentley is watching over all over us.

I have been taking my dogs there for over 12 years. They just charged me over $2,200 for dental extractions last month. I have continued to be loyal to them over the years. I recently needed a refill on ear medicine for my pets ear infection while I'm out of town and the DR. Refused to give it to me. I'm 3 and half hours away !! I now have to go to a strange Vet while traveling all for a medicine she's been using for years !! No accommodation. I asked her to reconsider and she still won't let the RX be prescribed thru online service. I can get it online asap with her permission. Posatex. She was scheduled to see Dr. in a couple weeks for follow up. No excuse !! Don't waste your money or time investing in the care of your pet with them. I feel they let me down when my pet needed them and I always turned a blind eye when they charge so much ! Shame on me. If you have any vet you recommend please let me know

My dogs have gotten their shots here for years. I've actually gone here for 20 years! But DO NOT use them if you have a medical issue. My dog, 13, developed seizures out of the blue. Overnight I took him to the ER as recommended by CdM vet Carissa Cruz. The ER told me to follow up with my regular vet, I called Dr. Cruz the next day and she refused to refill any meds the hospital gave me (and said he'd need for life.) Although they had received all his ER records and test results Dr. Cruz refused do ANYTHING for this poor dog who was seizing, crying in pain (so loud the receptionist could hear over the phone, but he didn't care one bit). The receptionist actually lied to me and told me they don't stock a medication that I have gotten filled there before. My dog is suffering for no reason because this practice won't provide the medications that could help him. Zero heart. I just don't get it. AVOID if you love your animal. (And believe me, you'll get a fat bill for whatever ticky tacky things they can charge you for - super overpriced. I used to think it cost a lot bc it was top notch care Simply, they lack the expertise to care for sick animals, just healthy ones.)

My senior standard schnauzer was going to a different vet in Newport Beach and he would go to CDM Animal Hospital for grooming services. After years of frustration with the other vet, we decided to switch to CDM. I am so happy we did! My senior fur baby has been suffering from numerous issues and Dr. Hanson and Dr. Aten have been so responsive and understanding. He shakes profusely whenever he goes to the vet, and they know how frightened he is, so they treat him with extra loving care at CDM. I trust them implicitly and know we are in the best care there. Thank you so much to Dr. Hanson, Dr. Aten and all of the unbelievably kind staff. Luke thanks you too!

I'm a first-time pet owner, and this was my first time having my dog go under anesthesia. I know these are very standard procedures, but I was extremely nervous about all of it. During the initial exam, Dr. Gordon discovered a bladder stone as well. He clearly explained the treatment options and made thoughtful recommendations for next steps. After the exam, he personally emailed the lab and bloodwork results and answered all my follow-up questions quickly and kindly. The surgery itself went very smoothly. Dr. Gordon and his team gave clear instructions for after-care. At the end of the procedure day, Dr. Gordon emailed to check in on my dog, and he checked in again a couple of days later. I sent him updates and photos of the incision site, and he responded each time with helpful feedback. I also sent updates on day 5 (when we finished post-op medications) and again on day 10. He reviewed the photos and provided his insights. My dog's recovery was overall very smooth, and as of day 10, he has been cleared of the donut! It was far beyond my expectations for Dr. Gordon to provide so much personal follow-up outside of our clinic visits. He genuinely cared about how my dog was doing, and I'm very grateful for that level of care. Additional details: - Parking: Free parking available; the clinic is up a flight of stairs. - Check-in/Wait Time: Both our exam and surgery check-ins were quick and the wait time was minimal. - Communication: Communication with the front desk was clear and easy via email, text, and phone. - Clinic: The space is very nice and clean. - Wi-Fi: They have guest Wi-Fi, which was helpful as my cell service wasn't great in the area. - Cost: Prices are on the higher end, but I feel it's completely worth it for the attentive care and peace of mind. - Staff: The front office staff and nurses were all kind and helpful. I'm an anxious person, and they were so patient with me, which I really appreciate! My dog is skeptical of new people but can be won over with treats, and the staff offered him treats with my permission to help him feel comfortable. I will absolutely return to Dr. Gordon for future care. And I should note that I live about 60 miles away, but having such wonderful care and reassurance is worth the drive. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Gordon to fellow pet owners!

This review is long overdue. I've been bringing my dog, Chelsea, to OC Veterinary for 10 years,…read moreever since I moved her down from the Bay Area. Chelsea recently passed away at 17, almost 18. She had such a long, happy life because of the care she received here. Chelsea was my baby, and I know how hard it can be to find a good vet. Pets can't talk, but you can see when they are genuinely cared for--and Chelsea got the best care at OC Veterinary. From the receptionists to the doctors, she was loved by everyone, and I am so grateful for that. Chelsea saw both Dr. Horn and, mostly, Dr. Nikki--both are exceptional veterinarians. We saw Dr. Nikki the most, and we had a very special connection with her. After Chelsea passed, Dr. Nikki even reached out to check on us, which was incredibly kind. She is practical, compassionate, and everything you could want in a vet. Chelsea also saw the groomer, Heather, who was very gentle and careful with her. Chelsea had back issues and was an older little lady, so it was comforting to know she was in safe hands. Sandra and Steve also made a big impact on Chelsea's life, especially Steve. They cared for her like she was their own family. Steve even called to check on us after Chelsea passed, which meant so much. I'm sorry this review comes so late, but I feel Chelsea would have wanted me to write it, and I want to honor her memory. No one enjoys visiting the doctor, but I am so grateful that we found such a wonderful facility to care for Chelsea. I loved her with all my heart, and after our family, OC Veterinary loved her most.

First thing he said was I'm not really a cat person but this is a cool cat. Right there I should have found another vet. From then on. I was booked with Dr. Nichols who turned out to be a temporary vet. Now he has has Dr. French another temporary vet. Last Tuesday, I had one of my cats scheduled for 12:00 noon for an exam and vaccinations (with Dr. French) Anyway, I couldn't find my cat anywhere. This has never happened to me before and I've never missed a doctor visit. I felt terrible. I called the doctor's office right away, at around 12:02 p.m. I told the receptionist I couldn't find my cat. They said they could reschedule me later that day but I was unavailable. Then after seeing one of my other cats climb into the cat carrier, I asked them is my other cat due for an exam? I was put on hold for 2 to 3 minutes then when the receptionist returned to our call she said yes they are due for an exam. Great. Can I bring her over? I live like 1 minute or less away. She put me on hold again. This time for 3 or 4 minutes and said no your appointment is now missed. By the time she got back to me it was 12:08 to 12:10 p.m. Anyway, very frustrated. I decided to just make a new appointment. I was then informed I am on an alert list and will have to pay a deposit or prepay visit. I'm done with this place! Update: Carla the Manager called me and offered to remove the alert on my account if I remain a customer. I told her I need to think about it. And after some careful thought and consideration, I decided I will not be returning as a customer. I'm looking for a veterinarian with compassion, caring and a love of all animals. Dr. Lewis did help one of my cats through a brief illness and I really appreciate that. However, after I made a mistake and missed an appointment by mere minutes and was told I have to pay ahead even though I paid thousands to them is so insulting. The front office of any clinic is so important and if they aren't able to bend a little once in awhile.. I'm out.
