I have been taking my pets to Dr Kang for years. He has helped diagnose and treat my pets many issues. He is also the most affordable vet by far. My cat Zane was diagnosed with a bladder stone. Dr Kang recommended prescription cat food rather than surgery and he is much better now. Wow where to start. Been taking our 2 Jack Russell Terriers for vet care with Dr. Khang for 8 years. Our female Jack Russell ripped her left cruciate ligament completely and after a sedation/xray and exam the dog was given Morphine. After the exam was over the tech brought her out from the back and our dog was handed to me while urinating allover the floor and then all over me. The tech walked away leaving me with a barely awake animal and then I was alone in the waiting room with my dog peeing down my shirt and pants and had to pay a $300 + bill trying to get my wallet out and get the bankcard out of the wallet to pay why holding my urinating dog and transact the payment. What really PISSED ME OFF IS THAT I COULD HEAR THE STAFF CAVORTING LOUDLY IN THE BACK AND NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM-(MONICA)- cared enough to come out from their lair and hold my dog while so that I could pay for the exam + Sedation + X-Ray + medications. I even said, hey let me go put her in the car real quick so I could pay the bill. The car was way too hot inside to leave her so I walked back in and paid all while holding my animal that was knocked out. Not the type of care or concern I expect from my Vet. There were NO OTHER ANIMALS IN THE OFFICE AT THE TIME. LOOKING OVER THE INVOICES FROM THIS OFFICE. WE'VE SPENT BETWEEN $15,000.00 to $18,000.00 for mostly routine care over the last 8 Years. This practice has become LAZY and SLOPPY with the way they treat their LONG TIME CUSTOMERS. FIND A VET THAT WILL TREAT YOU BETTER!!! I called around 10am, and even though they closed at 1pm, I was not a current customer, AND they were fully booked- they still told me to come anyways. Such a godsend pet sanctuary! I brought our family's female pit bull to this hospital for the very first time and the welcome was incredible. From intake to treatment room staff to the doctor -- everyone was warm, patient, and kind, both when we arrived and as we were leaving. Here's what made this place a true life-saver: my budget was extremely limited. I honestly wasn't sure if they would be able to help with her severe, nonstop itching and scratching (allergies + flea infestation) and also send her home with the proper meds. Dr. Kang simply asked me, "What is your budget?" I answered, and instead of pushing anything unaffordable, he tailored the treatment plan so fittingly. The diagnosis called for three medications (all tablets): allergy, antibiotics, and a single flea/tick preventative dose. Within two days...NO MORE SCRATCHING. No more misery. I couldn't be happier with the service here. All of the staff are super friendly and always care about you and your pet! Dr Kang, is honest and upfront about what is the best plan of care for your pet. Yes, at times they are busy but they have NEVER been rude or dismissive towards me or my dog! I've been taking my multiple pets here for a few years now. The staff is always polite and friendly. Dr. Kang's gentle nature is always comforting. He does go on vacation though, but his substitutes have similar dispositions. All of us animal people know that vet expenses are expensive, but in comparison, the costs here are reasonable and the care they provide is worth it. All the staff seem to be animal lovers and it's a small office so you get personalized service. One of the funny moments: Dr. Kang was cleaning an ear of one of my dogs. She's prone to ear infections. It was so quiet and my dog made the loudest yelp. We all nearly jumped to the ceiling. I forgot to tell him that she's a drama queen. I swear the dog was laughing at all of us putting our hands over our hearts to calm the shock. She wasn't in pain or anything. Everything went fine after that. read more

I would give them a zero if I could. I went in for an X- Ray after my puppy has fallen from the stairs. I was pretty worried he might have broke something and asked to make sure there was nothing broken or sprained. He took an X-Ray and told he nothing was wrong. We took him home and belonged what the doctor said because we thought he knew what he was doing. However, he has been limping for one month. I wanted to make sure he was ok so I took him to another vet and got another X-Ray @ Family Animal Hospital. They showed me a complete different X-Ray and told me my dog had broke his arm. I asked how was that missed and they told me that the first X-Ray was cut off and did not take the full X-Ray of the arm. They said maybe the doctor only though his own was broken and was not concerned for his elbow. We took him to a special orthopedic and they said since we waited a month and he's a puppy that they don't know even if we do a surgery if they can put the elbow back in place. They said we waited to long and the elbow has already healed. He asked if we still wanted to go ahead with the surgery, because it will cost of $5000 and he's not sure if he could fix it 100% back to normal. He said if we came right when it happens they could of fixed it with no surgery and not costing over $5000. I called Fairview Vet back to let them know and they just said, " oh, ok we will let the doctor know." They do not care about your dog and only want money. I will never come back here and if you care and love your pet like your child you should think twice. read more

I can't speak to the veterinarians because I wasn't able to get in for an appointment. The 1 star is based on the rude receptionist who couldn't wait to end my call. I called in to ask if they were taking on new clients. I didn't mention that they were referred by members of the family who also take their dogs to this vet and really like the doctor. In a nutshell, she was dismissive, didn't bother to ask the issue or offer up an alternative and couldn't wait to hang up. I'm the sure the doctor is fine, but staff can make or break a practice. She clearly has never taken the risk of running her own business, or they just don't want new patients. Either way, she should look for work doing something that doesn't involve working with people or their pets. read more

I am heartbroken and extremely frustrated by my recent experience losing my pet under the care of dr. Lang at Fairview Pet Hospital I brought in my 12 year old dog Tany, who has gone to this vet since she was a puppy. After being told that she was suffering from renal failure and the damage was irreversible, I understood euthanasia was the best option and the doctor/staff was supportive in letting me stay through the process. The assistant, Monica, assures me that I would be able to pick up Tanys ashes and she would handle everything. This took place on 7/9. I called yesterday - a full week later - to inquire about the ashes pick up. She at that point informed me she had made an error and included Tany in a group cremation. This means I will not be able to have my beloved pets ashes. It is a completely frustrating and horrible process and I want to prevent anyone else from going through this surprise experience. read more

My 5 months old puppy suddenly lost mobility in his two hind legs. We took him to the VCA on FV and they couldn't find out what was the issue but made a few suggestions including getting an x-ray. I then decided to called some of nearest vets in the area and decided to go to Fairview because of their quick availability and eased of scheduling the appointment. After the office examined my puppy and had its x-ray, Dr. Kang gave me a call a couple days later to relayed the results of the x-ray and prescribed medications to help with the problem. He was very throughout with his explanations and even offered a complimentary follow up visit with my puppy at no charged. While the caused of the issue is still unknown, my puppy has been doing so much better and I'm glad that he was in the care of Dr. Kang and his staff. read more

Dr. Kang and his staff are awesome!! My poor cat Henry recently narrowly escaped an attack by a coyote and he had a chunk missing out of his leg!! My regular vets weren't accepting any more pets, so I tried another place and they quoted me $1100 on the LOW END to fix Henry's leg up!! I love my cat but I just can't afford that, so thankfully I kept calling around. Dr. Kang's office was able to take Henry in 30 minutes and with everything out the door, my prices was well below HALF of what the other place quoted me!!! Everyone there greats you warmly and you can tell Dr. Kang is there to run a solid, honest and FAIRLY PRICED vet hospital!! Not only that, but when Henry got his cone off and ripped a couple of his staples out in his leg, Dr. Kang has me come in and he fixed his wound again for FREE!!! I am so happy my boyfriend and I decided to bring my cat and my puppy here to see Dr. Kang! He is outstanding and phenomenal! (: You can definitely tell he is definitely an animal lover! Not only is he a great veterinarian he is also a great person! He saw me struggling to get my 30 pound puppy into the car to go back home. Plus they do not ask for any medical records or anything like that. Which is really disappointing and I am happy I no longer go there. At Dr. Kang's office , that was the first question they asked for was records of recent shots for both my dog and cat. I knew at that point this was a legit place and clean. Im really happy I came across their office. The staff absolutely love animals! They even gave a treat to my puppy and made her feel welcomed. Both my babies came out happy and smelling really clean! I started taking my first dog here in 2010, she has now passed away and I started taking my new pup here for shots, preventatives, check ups, anal gland, nail trimming, she also had her spay surgery here. Dr. Kang is really nice, as well as the staff. When I first took them my puppy girl as a tiny baby they were so nice to her and they've seen her grow into a young lady. They did such a great job during the pandemic, still were able to offer appointments in a timely manner. I have moved to Los Angeles, it's a bit of a drive for me but sometimes I still take my pup here for small things. The prices are reasonable and wait times are reasonable as well. read more

This is our local vet who I honestly the best vet ever! Dr. Kang and his staff are so friendly and nice, you can honestly tell they truly love animals. Dr. Kang correctly diagnosed our 13 year old Boston Terrier with Cushings Disease and was able to reduce the symptoms through medication extending his life. He also takes the time to explain to you different options of treatment and thankfully was very conservative when treating our dog when we brought him in with a bowel obstruction. This saved us so much $$$ by not having to open him up to remove the object. Our dog was restored and back to normal within days. The kindness and the care Dr. Kang and his staff gave to us when eventually our loving dog passed was unbelievable. I can't tell you enough how grateful we are to have them as our vet and I trust him and his entire staff to take care of all of our pets. read more

Doctor Kang and his staff were very sensitive to my emotions by treating my senior dog's euthanasia respectfully. I was given ample orientation and explanation throughout the whole process. Also you can maybe let me know your reasons for not giving prices during the call instead of just giving me a flat out no. I just called this place for information on an ultrasound, the guy who answered said he couldn't give me any info over the phone because he didnt know!
