When I arrived I asked how many cars were ahead of me and if they could get the out in about 35 minutes as I was in a hurry. This is the best price and service for smog check in Corona/Norco. With the coupon on their web page, it's $29.75+$8.25 (for certificate) total of $40 for 2000 and newer model. I used to go to Green Smog Check in Norco for this price but it's $10 more now with coupon. So, I wanna try this Corona Express Smog because of good review from Google and the price is the cheapest in town. I'm not disappointed at all, very pleased with the quick and professional service from Jeremy, in and out in 10 min. !!! **Coupon** You better show it to them as soon as they greet you or you're SOL. I've been going to this place close to 15 years. The technician tried to pass the buck by saying "Oh the owner recently changed it - see, it says present before 'write up'" I've never had to do this before. He could've asked me right away if I had a coupon. Or they could put a little sign on their big clean countertop that says "present coupons before you say one more word". But this is part of their scam now. It didn't "Just change" I just saw someone else's review from over 2 months ago - saying the same thing. And also like the other reviewer - they told me my car needed more miles since the last service and to drive it another 100 miles before bringing it back. They could ask when you walk in if your car has had recent work done - and if so, they could take 2 minutes to check the codes first. SO, I'm out $52 for NO REASON. He hooked it up to a machine for 10 mins, took my money and basically said - better luck next time.... and OH "when you come back next time it will be $20 less." Yeah - no thanks. I recently purchased a 2006 Honda Accord for my daughter for her first vehicle. Unbeknownst to me the vehicle needed a smog check and later found out I needed a new catalytic converter with 02 sensors. After getting everything replaced, I took it to Corona Express Smog and met Robert who was more than helpful. He told me exactly what to do in order for me to get the vehicle to pass smog. He provided a website ssl.arb.ca.gov that gave me the type of catalytic converter my vehicle could have in order to pass smog. With that information I found it online at carparts.com and ordered it for a fraction of the price any dealer or store was selling it for. After getting everything installed I took it to Robert and after inserting the code reader in the vehicle it still would not pass smog because it read the O2 sensor we're not reading neither the converter. I explained that everything is brand new and wasn't quite sure why it wouldn't pass. Robert told me to driver the car for 5 mins between 50 and 65 mph, pull off the road let the car run for 2 minute and turn the car off for 2 mins and repeat the process 3 times. After doing this, I went right back and the 02 sensors passed but the cat still wouldn't. He explained that I had to drive it some more so that the vehicle could register all this information. The very next day after driving to LA, I used my code reader and it showed that the cat was now registering. I took it in and it passed smog. My car is an older model 1995 Jeep and a couple of other places said they couldn't smog it. The operator at Corona Express Smog told me that most Smog Stations don't want to test older vehicles as it hurts their rating with the state, but he offered to do it anyway and charged me $90 for the test and certificate. Although it was expensive, they were the only test station to give me an honest answer and my Jeep passed. I think it's unfair that the State would penalize Smog Test stations for testing older vehicles, especially ones that are well taken care of and pass the emissions testing. So I went to another smog shop and before they performed the smog test, "secondary air intake monitor NOT READY" and they knew it was going to fail. They gave me the proper solution. I brought my truck for smog test, when I presented the coupon to the owner he said that they charge more for trucks. I have been going here for years and they have always charged whatever is stated in the coupon plus the certificate fee. They should state in the coupon that trucks or bigger vehicles cost more. Got there today at 7:45 am to be 1st line. Owner did not get there until 8:20 am. Was supposed to open at 8am. No worries right. People are late sometimes. My daughter and I brought both our cars to get a smog check. When the owner got there, he was a complete jerk to us. He didn't even acknowledge our presence. He was irritated we were even there. First off, I never written a review. Good or bad I usually just try to find a solution or just shrug it off. This time my conscious would not let me, at least, try to save others from this blatant theft. This guy is a cheat and a lyer. I know that these are strong words but let me explain what happened. I called before coming in. I wanted to check his availability and inquire about a $29.75 coupon I found online. He said it was valid so I drove down to his establishment. I pulled up to the garage and noticed a man sitting in front of the bay entrance. I thought he was a customer because I waited for about 3 minutes and he wasn't moving. No one was coming to greet me so I pulled my car to the side of the garage and went inside. I see this same guy sitting there and I ask, "Do you work here?" "Yeah, what do you need", he asks. I thought it was odd that he let me sit there in front of him for so long without any sort of response. Weird but I shrug it off. I proceeded to tell him that I had called earlier and that I needed a smog check. He had me pull the car back around to the garage and had me sign a work order. As I was filling out my information I attempted to make some small talk and asked "the weather was starting to get warmer, isn't it. Again, zero response. Not even an acknowledgment of me saying something. I was 3 feet away at the time so I thought that was also a little off. Still, I shrugged it off and had the thought that he's just having an off day. I take a seat in the waiting area. When he comes back over to tell me that the work is done I was surprised because I didn't hear the car running at all and that's how they check if I'm not mistaken. He then tells me that I did not pass and the possible reasons that the car failed. He said that the computer failed because either the battery was disconnected or jumped recently. I had to jump the car 2 days prior so I agreed. He said that the car needed to be driven 100 miles or so for the computer to be reset and to come back after that for another check. I then asked if I would have to pay for that check, he says yes and I don't argue. He then explains that the next time I come in that he can check what the computer is reading to let me know if it was pass or not. I asked him why he didn't do that first and he goes on about how it is illegal the first time but it's legal on the second visit. He then tells me that I owe him $45. I pull my phone out to show him the $29.75 coupon and he tells me that it was not valid because I did not show him the coupon in the beginning. He then tells me that he has already done the work and that's what the price is. That's the moment I knew he was a cheat and a lyer. I tell him that I was the guy that called just a half hour earlier and talked to him about the coupon and that I told him I was that caller when I first talked with him. He reiterated that he did the work and that's what the price was and that if I didn't pay he was going to call the cops. He also thought it necessary to tell that I was on camera, which he had none. At this point I was heated and called him a cheat and a lyer. The exchange at this point is very heated and expletives go back and forth. At one point he also threatened me. He said that he was from the streets and that he would "take care of me later." He threatens to call the cops again if I didn't pay and I insist that he does. He picks up him phone and acts as if he's calling. I wait outside and call my lawyer. He comes back moments later and tells me that he will honor the coupon but will not be doing the second check for me. I think to myself that this guy is out of his damn mind. I hesitantly pay the bill despite the fact that he didn't perform the check to begin with. He didn't even turn on the car! This guy is a thief and his actions are criminal. Please save yourself the trouble and money and go to a respectable business. Has anyone else experienced this with this guy? His reviews seem ok but my experience was anything but ok. read more

I will not be coming back to this place and you shouldn't go here either. Why? Because I don't agree with the ethics of this business. I took my old 1990 BMW to get a smog check recently. The guy goes through the entire procedure with the car on the machine, etc. Then he's done, pulls my car out, I think everything is fine. As I'm at the counter getting ready to pay, he tells me I didn't pass. WTH? Why didn't I pass I asked him? He said "your check engine light isn't working...it doesn't light up". Honestly, the car ran fine and showed no signs of a check engine light, so I figured, it's not on, so that's a good thing! As someone that only does smog checks, I would think that he should tell me when he pulls my car in, "hey, your check engine light isn't working, so if I check your car, it's going to fail the visual check, get it fixed and come back". That would have saved me $40 bucks. I could have went and fixed it, came back, did my test and passed and be done with it! Instead, he fails me, takes my $40, then says "fix the light and come back and we can test it again. We know you already pass emissions, you're just not passing the visual check". Are you kidding me? No problem we can do that however they charged me full price which I'm okay with. But this place now says that we would have to pay full price again when we bring it back. That's ridiculous.
