When I got fully fall on the floor I felt my head dizzy and pain on the bodies ! The security guard whose name is Willa came to help and brought me up and took a stone to let me have a break, he is American, very nice guy! Asked what I need and how was feeling after the incident, meanwhile he called the manager! When the manager came to ask if I need ambulance to the hospital, I refused and talked him about what happened, he didn't say anything about my health situation after the incident, said I was very careless about the steps and the walking issues, nothing about comfort words, that is the manager, a Chinese manager, too bad service and too bad environment with terrible customer service! American people understand how to help me out Chinese manager came to complain about why carelessness! If you met the incident like this what would you feel? We won't come to this store again!

There's no shortage of Asian supermarkets in NYC, especially in Flushing. Customers seeking Chinese…read moregroceries are luckily spoilt for choice compared to most of the country. DC Market (德昌DeChang in Chinese) is one of many places to shop, and they specialize in meat and takeout meals. This location is similar in size to their Chinatown location, though Flushing has more of a rectangular layout in contrast to the long narrow layout in Ctown. Their butcher counter is pretty much unparalleled compared to other Asian supermarkets with the exception of maybe large format Hmarts. DC carries a wide breadth of edible animal products both au naturel and marinated, including more familiar meats such as pork chops, short rib, flank steak, sea bass, running the gamut to less commonly appreciated though edible parts like frog legs, pork lung and hocks, beef tongue, whelk. Marinated specialties like tangerine peel minced beef and pork ribs in pickled plum sauce caught my attention, among many others. The second largest section is the ready-to-eat food section, with items pre-portioned in takeout containers, priced by the container. This area is composed of several counters with a wide selection of steamed, deep-fried, baked, sautéed and stewed dishes, all categories covered--vegetables, meats, carbs, savory and sweet--food items for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Overall food quality is not quite on par with good restaurants as some other reviews mention, though not too bad if you're looking for a quick simple meal. Aside from aforementioned meat, some seafood, and takeout, they have a suitable breadth of fresh produce, refrigerated/chilled, dried and frozen foods. What you don't find too much here are packaged snacks and processed foods, which I suppose is a good thing.

This is a super popular supermarket in Chinatown! My parents took me here often on weekends and…read morealways bought some food before going home. Although I do not come to Chinatown often anymore but when we do, I come with my daughter! This place is split into two parts. One part is like a regular supermarket with limited items like marinated meat and seafood and some pantry stables like noodles. The marinated meats, you buy by pound and you can cook them at home during the week. This is very convenient and takes the prep work out of the way! My personal favorite is the marinated sole. All I have to do is cook rice, steam the fish with ginger, then add scallion oil - weekday dinner is done, just like that! My husband loves the marinated meats, they are delicious and perfect for meal preps. The second part of the place is what Deluxe is famous for - the food market, it is a combination of hot Chinese dishes over rice, stir-fry noodles, bakery, roasted meats, cold marinated meats, and sushi. Now, I must admit that the food items here taste decent and very affordable but do not expect it to be the best. It does the job and feeds the family, especially in this economy! We like the Fried Salt and Pepper Pork Chops and it seems like it is one of the most popular items here as I see them refill it every time I come here. This is a must visit if you're ever in Chinatown! This place is always busy and super crowded, the best time to come is during morning hours before lunch!

Every time I visit NYC I'd stop by here for chat siu and the crispy roast pork since my mom told me…read moreabout this place almost a decade ago and each time it was awesome - a lb of each to go (sometimes an order of duck or chicken as well) with a hot pot of rice at home and some blanched veggies to balance everything out. I wish I've yelped about those great experiences because on this last visit it was unfortunately terrible. If I could give it 0 stars I would but that's not an option kinda terrible. The last time I visited was more than a year 1/2 ago and it seems they've changed their service on the cut meats. Seems like they only have precut chunks which then gets cut down into smaller pieces (?!!). And there were only two cooked chickens hanging (?!!) Well, I wasn't sure and while I was waiting in line for my usual cuts of meat I noticed the meat cutting/chopping lady (we'll call her the chopper) pouring a ladle of sauce on the customer's char siu (?!!). While the guy in front of me ordered his cuts I asked the chopper if I can ask her a question to which she glanced at me and then looked away. No biggie, I'll ask when it's *my turn*. And when it was I asked her in Cantonese: "excuse me, when were the meats grilled? Is it today (this morning) or are they yesterday's cuts from the fridge and I should re-heat?" She gave me a look and replied "if they're not made today when would they've been made?" me: (confused look) I don't know? her: turns her head left to look at the wall "what time is it now? If we didn't roast it this morning what time would we have done so?" me: i don't know which is why i'm asking you? her: OBVIOUSLY it was made today me: you know what i'm not buying anymore. I asked a question and I don't like your attitude (tone). As i walked to the entrance she continued her belittling muttering so i got angry and turned around to state loudly i asked her a simple question but she was rude and condescending to which I can't give me business support to!!

Queens, NY (Astoria + Ridgewood) - I seem to be on a (sausage) roll, so for my 300th review, allow…read moreme to highlight a deli & butcher shop that's a beloved New York institution to those in the know, but not yet a secret that's out to the masses. When I was in the Astoria store earlier this month, I overheard an obviously epicurean gentleman who spent some time in Austria (with presumably some appreciation for well-crafted old world charcuterie) share that he had come down from Boston and made a special trek out here to experience this Mecca of meats in person. I myself came all the way from the distant shores of NJ that day, enduring horrendous holiday traffic down FDR Dr. and across Queensboro Bridge, but likewise, finally made this pilgrimage after I became addicted to their superlative pork cracklings (chicharron / čvarci / jumări), which is the best on the planet! It's weighed by the pound and the prime time to get it fresh & hot out of the fryer is late morning, though best to come earlier on the weekend. 90% of the products are made in-house, and one can find a dizzying array of cured and smoked meats, multiple varieties of bacon, prosciutti (including hard-to-find duck and lamb!), sausages, salami, pâtés, purées, cheeses, steaks and chops, as well as pickled and jarred foods, canned delicacies, and shelves of dried goods and snacks from Europe. The founders came over from the Balkan region and likewise the counter staff are well-versed in multiple tongues (Serbo-Croatian, Romanian, Hungarian, as well as Spanish) and can fluidly navigate between ethnic product names according to what the customer is asking for. The staff are welcoming, warm, and helpful, and will offer you samples of everything to try. We stocked up on our favorites and also picked up some new goodies: - Chicharrones (always!) - Tarska bacon (a house speciality) - Rolled garlic bacon - Some other bacon (cos yes it's the land of bacon galore) - Duck prosciutto - Various sausages - Goose & pork liver pâté - Liver - Szalonna (pork fat) - Brânză de burduf, a handmade cheese that's a traditional salty Romanian cheese originated from Transylvania. (Muncan is very popular with the local Romanian community) I've always said Queens is foodie heaven and is worth a trip from the boroughs if not the tri-state, and Muncan is definitely a destination stop!
