As fresh as it gets! You watch them cook the baos in front of you and man these people hustle! There were so many people lining up to get these but the wait wasn't too bad. Gotta be patient for yummy authentic food. After you order, they'll call your number and they'll grab your buns fresh when your number is called. The buns have a crunchy bottom and the juiciest inside (be careful!). Can't wait to eat these again!

Wow flavor explosion with these soup dumplings from Liu Liu's! I was so impressed with the large soup dumplings that were filled with at least a tablespoon and 1/2 of pork filling. The soup inside of the dumpling complimented the flavors of the pork. The sear on the bottom of the dumpling added a nice crunch. Adding black vinegar after taking a bite married all the flavors together. The dumpling had a great chewy texture. Service was good. The place was bumping with many prep people and chefs. The ambiance was constantly busy as everyone was cooking and prepping. Such a wonderful experience!

Pork panbao

OMG!!! The best Panbao!! Initially, we ordered eight. However, after eating them, we went back to order more. They were super juicy and moist. They also had a good crunch to it. Wish we had more lol Definitely recommend for anyone craving pan baos!

I was very skeptical when I saw several influencers recommending Liu Liu Sheng Jian, but decided to give it a try while I was in the area. Liu Liu Sheng Jian is located toward the far end of the food court. The line moved fairly quickly, and I was able to get my hands on six of the Sheng Jian Bao straight from the giant frying pans. The Sheng Jian Bao was delicious as it was piping hot and it was filled with juice. I highly recommend biting off the top and slurp up the pork juice before continuing enjoying the Bao with the vinegar provided. There are plenty of seats available at the food court, but you might want to bring your own alcohol wipes to clean off the table for yourself if you don't want to wait for the food court staff to come clean.

Delicious. The crispiness of the bun and the juiciness of the meat is chefs kiss. Bun is not too thick so great proportion with the meat without feeling like you're overloading on carbs. Better to eat fresh but even if you don't, still delicious. It is located straight down from New World Mall food court escalator towards the back to the right side. Can get crowded depending on day of the week (usually busier on weekends).

Iconic for a reason. This was EXTREMELY delicious and filling. My husband and I got 2 milk teas from a nearby stall and then shared 1 large order of dumplings and were full. The service was quick and it's a chaotic but fun atmosphere. You can see them folding and cooking your food and they have a counter of sauces. Delicious and so juicy !!!!!!

Sheng Jian Bao in progress

After my wife bought me an order for dinner, I have been craving for more. Sheng Jian Bao, a soup dumpling that pan fried with hot soup inside a bun. Usually, the Sheng Jian Bao you get from the Shanghainese Restaurant are tender with a thicker bun. This one is with a thin and crispy bun with a savory piece of pork that splash soup into your mouth (Be alert that it will definitely burn your tongue). I was introduced to have it with aged vinegar and chilly sauce. It bought the taste of the bun to a level of an explosion. Stop by and try an order when you visit Flushing. It is located in a food court inside the New World Mall. It looks cheesy but tasty. Calvin

Really great crispy soup dumplings. There was a line and it took a while to get the dumplings but it was worth it. So tasty and delicious and are extremely fresh and hot when you get them. Would return here just for these dumplings.

Pork buns 6 for $10

One of the busier stalls at the New World Mall is Liu Liu. Everyone gets the friend pork buns which are 6 for $10 or 8 for $12. Menu is in Chinese only but staff speaks English. Service is quick as the buns are ready to serve. Ample sauces. The buns are so hot (temperature wise) when you get them and are almost inedible unless you want to burn your face off. They're actually better in my opinion a hour later. Crunchy. Juicy. Overhyped. Yeah.

Lena L.

Down the escalator in new work mall in the corner on the right. You order either 6 for $10 or 8 for $12. New batch ready every 10-15 mins and line moves quickly. Buns are super hot and juicy!

Shengjian bao (panfried pork buns) ($12 for 8 pieces)

Juicy pork buns! Be careful eating them because the have a lot of soup inside and they are very hot! I like adding the chili crisp to the buns for extra flavor but they are good enough on their own.

Shengjian bao

This place is legit. Nestled in one of the corners of New World Mall's basement food court, this spot is slinging shengjian baos like it's going out of style. They have two giant pans running to keep the bao production effective and it's definitely a sight to see. As with any spot in new world, you order and then fight for your life to find a table. $10 for 6 buns felt fairly priced. The buns are compact at first glance, but at first bite they're very generously filled with meat. Just be careful though, these things are soup filled and you won't want it exploding everywhere. That being said, the flavors and textures just work. Crispy bottom, soft top, and juicy/delicious meaty filling. What's not to love? Pour in some vinegar or chili oil to mix things up and you have a great snack/meal depending on your hunger levels. I could easily destroy all six, but I'd say this is best eaten as part of a food crawl with other people. Overall, 10/10 would recommend! Sure, the food court may be a bit overwhelming (especially during the weekend), but if you navigate correctly, you'll be rewarded with some great food!

Emily L.

These pan fried dumplings are so good. I feel like I didn't even look at anything else other than the dumplings. For $10 you get 6 and they are so filling. I wanted to get them as a snack but it was so much food. Since this is a stand within the food court, it was super quick and you can get it to go or for dine-in but the take out container might be better since the soup drips out. It's a no frills place and super good. The dumping was so crispy on the bottom but not burned or anything.

The filling was decent, but the vinegar on the side was too mild. I'm used to a darker, more robust vinegar with XLB, so this didn't quite hit. Braised pork - very tender and flavorful, served with quail eggs. This was one of the stronger dishes. Yangzhou fried rice - not too oily which I liked, but served with only 5 an small shrimps... Sweet & sour shredded potato (cold dish) - slightly spicy, I really enjoyed this one. It was part of a promo where you can get it for $1 when you spend $30 on entrees, so definitely worth adding. Overall, I enjoyed the meal. Not everything stood out, but it's solid enough that I'd recommend it, and I'd come back to try more of the menu.

However, recently it's been hit or miss. Today was both - the garlic pork belly cold dish was super tasty! The garlic chili oil was spicy, sweet and fragrant. The pork bun ( I have eaten at almost every establishment that serves pork buns in flushing) was disgusting. The pork was almost grey and the it smelled like it was a day away from spoiling. It's really hard to justify a bad experience like this when there are literal hundreds of flushing vendors that serve the exact same cuisine with better quality control. Catch me a Zie Wei Xiao Chi next time I'm in the mood for a pork bun.

I'm always on the hunt for a great xiaolongbao, and I was hoping nothing had changed since my last visit. Thankfully, they were just as good as I remembered. The skin is thin, and there's a generous amount of soup inside, which is exactly what I look for. That said, the crab meat noodles were disappointing this time. The amount of crab meat seemed significantly reduced compared to before, so much so that if I hadn't known what I was ordering, I don't think I would have been able to identify it as crab meat noodles at all. We also tried the osmanthus cakes, which my sister really enjoyed. Personally, I'm not a fan of the mochi-like texture, so while I can appreciate why others might like them, they just aren't for me. The restaurant itself is still beautiful, and the servers remain extremely polite, as you'd expect at a place of this caliber. I'll definitely be coming back again...at least for the soup dumplings.

As I entered the restaurant, the ambiance felt like I was going to a quaint location in rural China. The decor and waterfall added a nice needed touch. The Peking duck comes with sugar, pineapple, hoisin cucumber. The peking duck was overdone by a tiny bit. It was light and clean but was a very forgettable dish The Lotus root stuff with rice was an appetizer that really caught my eye by how it it looked It had a cold sweet glaze like a Chinese flower royal jelly. I was saddened that it looked much smaller than I expected. It was cut very thinly which allowed the glaze to cover it all but I wish it was a bit thicker so you could taste and feel more of the lotus root The Pumpkin w cheese was tasty but a little drying on tongue from how it was fried The sliced potato dish was a dish I have not tried before but was a bit of a let down. The Potato just tastes like a mild chili oil Nothing much The fried rice was very enjoyable. It was a bit on the oily side but that also allowed it to be cooked in a way that gives it a good wok hei. Even though the rice felt a bit oily, the dish as a whole felt very light The flavor of the fried rice was also very good. The eggs in the rice could be better. It felt a bit over cooked and the pieces felt a bit too big in it. The pork belly cube came with hawthorn in a bright red sauce the flavor was nothing special. The cubes were also too big so the flavor of the sauce doesn't soak through. Flavor is barely there other than just pork Mapo tofu was very basic and felt lacking in meat.it also doesn't come with white rice which is very integral to the sacuiness of mapo tofu. For dessert I got the fried rice cake. It was very brown sugar/ molasses forward. Even though it had a nice soft bite to it, the flavor of molasses hid any depth of flavor it had. Everything felt nice to eat, felt very fresh and light. The presentation was very pleasant but the flavors did not live up to the presentation.

Portion size was a little larger than I expected, and the chilli oil smelled so good! - Scallion pancake with beef 蔥油餅夾牛肉 is one of my favourites. The wrapper was very crispy and the beef was tender and very savoury. The balance of the slightly-sharp scallion flavour was perfect. - Fried chinese chives box 韭菜盒子, another classic. Lovely crispy outside layer with a delicious fresh chives/noodles/etc. filling. - Soymilks - I've had both the hot and cold sweet soymilks, and they are both delicious. You can't go wrong here. The location is a bit hidden (in the back of a small mall), which I suspect is why it's not busier. I've never had to wait, even during weekend lunch hours. Service is always very efficient and to-the-point, which I appreciate.
