    Carne Frita CON TODO!
    Samantha R.

Came here before for a late night bite and couldn't review but I very distinctly remember the DELICIOUSNESS of this food! Came today on a whim and I am SO glad we did! Ordered the same thing as last time Carne Frita con Moro, tostones, aguacate & cabbage. That very first bite of the carne frita OMFG is just AMAZING. Pictures don't do it justice, absolutely mouthwatering. BE PREPARED TO WAIT!!!!! We got here when the truck opened at 9, and got our food finally at 9:30; be patient with these guys - they're working HARD, and before you question their system like I did? THEY DO REMEMBER YOU AND WHAT YOU ORDER SO DONT WORRY ABOUT THEM FORGETTING YOU! Tip these guys! They deserve it!!!!

Carne frita, moro, ensalada, aguacate, chimi sauce (ask for bottle at counter!)

Food is basic ingredients (rice, meat) but quality of meat is great and cooked so well. Very delicious. Chimi sauce is a MUST on your food. Ask for the Chimi sauce bottle at the counter and use that on your food instead of the small to-go sauces they offer you. Their ordering system needs to be more organized. There is no "front of the line" or any signage to direct customers to "pick up" or "order here". This simple solution would make going to this truck so much better. Be prepared - there is NO menu. I recommend going with someone who's been here before or use Yelp to figure out what you want to order. Overall, 7.5/10 for this place.

Always order the steak with rice and tostones & don't forget the avocado!

Been coming to this food truck for years. Never disappoints! The staff is very friendly and fast paced although there can be a wait sometimes but always worth It!

I'm not usually a fan of food trucks but I make an exception for Los Amigos. This is def the after club/late night spot - they're open from 9pm to 6am. Everything on the menu is absolutely fire and flavorful. My only gripe is ordering process; it's always been a hot mess which is why I had to dock a star. You don't really know where the line starts or ends or even if your food is ready. You can actually can call ahead and place the order and just pick it up when you get there which is super convenient. The parking situation is also a pain because most of the time you have to double park. BUT despite all this I put up with it because the food is truly amazing and authentic. The workers are also really friendly and move fast for the crowds of people that they have to service.

Sorry Excuse For Carne Fritas!!! Quality of food has taken a Death Plunge.

I got the chicharrones with rice and beans and potato salad (comes with half an avocado). Every aspect of the meal was delicious. The pork was perfectly crispy, the rice was soft and delicious. The beans also paired perfectly with the rice. The staff was also super sweet and friendly. I would definitely come back for more and for breakfast. I saw a lot of New York breakfast friendly options on the menu for a very reasonable price. They take cash, credit card, and apple pay!

Very good soup, we ask for a small as we had no idea what to expect. The bandeja tipica is $21. For the price you get rice and beans with avocado, a fried egg, longaniza, thinly pounded steak, a piece of sweet plantain and chicharron. We asked for some of the home made hot sauce and we got a some slightly picant vinaigrette that had cilantro and onions, very good bit no spice for my taste buds. However the meal is good enough to feed 2 hungry souls. My wife and i were very stuffed. We noticed they advertised mondongo soup but that is only on Sunday and Wednesday, so we will jave to come back and try it for sure. Our server Maria was very cordial, attentive and friendly. Definitely a new spot to enjoy Spanish food.

Because these arepas were different, but enjoyable…read more --- --- --- To-date, I apparently have only had Venezuelan arepas and wasn't aware of how different Colombian arepas were. Colombian arepas (or at least the ones here) come with a sweet, corn tortilla and are more open faced: to be eaten with a fork. In the past, I've had flour tortillas that are designed more like a taco and eaten as a handheld. So despite the differences, I (and my friends) enjoyed our meal. Let the official record state, I ordered the arepas con queso with chorizo. We had plans to eat our way through Jackson Heights, but because a couple of the places we planned to visit were closed, we actually just mostly hung out here and enjoyed our arepas of the sweet and open-faced variety. It was a good afternoon.

This was my first time trying an arepa, and honestly it was one of the best introductions I could…read morehave asked for. Before this, if someone mentioned arepas, I probably would have confused them with pupusas, which I'd only seen at street fairs and thought of as more of a sweet item. I had no idea they came in savory versions too. I went with the carne asada arepa, and the beef was fresh, juicy, and cooked just right. It's so common for places to overcook little chunks of beef, but here it was perfect. Each arepa is big enough to split between two people, so the price feels very fair. The filling was generous, with beef packed inside and even overflowing out the sides. They also serve the arepas with a rack of five or six sauces to choose from. Some were spicy, and one had a sweet condensed milk flavor if you like a mix of sweet and savory. My go to ended up being this green mayonnaise sauce which I assumed was like some sort of a lime mayo, which added the perfect tartiness to the rich cheese filling.
