Coming from Southern California I was skeptical to try Mexican food from the Midwest, especially since I'm not into TexMex. But I was pleasantly surprised. The menu is extensive, the portions are huge & the prices are decent. They served refried beans with chips and salsa, which was great. We stopped in Mitchell, SD to visit the corn palace. A local resident recommended Corona Village. We are very pleased with our experience. This was a family friendly restaurant that was clean and welcoming. The portions are quite large. A great deal for the price. My husband and I shared a platter which included carne asada and scallops and still had leftovers. Our server provided warm tortillas even though they weren't included on the menu. Everything was tasty and at the perfect temperature. My children had a taco kids meal and a bean burrito meal. They also enjoyed their meal and had MORE THAN ENOUGH to eat. Our server was young and did his best to meet our needs. My only complaint was not having enough napkins. Three year olds are messy! And the sweet tortilla chips with whip cream and strawberry sauce were an special surprise to end the meal. I absolutely LOVE the food here. Service is wonderful too. I really want to give them 5 stars, but they seriously need to step it up when it comes to cleaning. From cobwebs in the corners to dead bugs and layers of dust on the windowsills... This needs to become a priority and FAST or people are going to stop wanting to eat here. Recently stopped in after seeing the "corn palace" Not too side track but that was a waste of time and because of that we were not in a very good mood walking in. The delicious aromas and the friendly staff erased our previous feelings and woke us up. The staff was great, very quick and attentive. All of our meals were excellent. I'm not sure what this was but it wasn't Mexican. The best part was the little dessert they give you when done which is good because you won't eat all of your food due to not liking the taste. It starts bad with the salsa they give you with the chips it's basically watery chili powder. What ever you do if you try this place is don't get the ground beef. Get the steak or chicken. Chain. Service was good, food was fast. They have a vegetarian section on the menu and also a kids menu with crayons. Food was OK, I'd say maybe comparable to an Acapulco's, not as good as a Margarita's (New England chain). They did provide complementary dessert chips with cinnamon and whipped cream. read more

No sour cream or guacamole on it and shell was greasy and stale. $2.95 for a side of guacamole for the salad is ridiculous! Chips were good. Small salsa though, cannot fit chips in tiny container. I am on a trip, and passing thru Mitchell. We stopped at a local Hotel, one that happily accepts dogs, and walked to a nearby Restaurant, Corona Village. I ordered the Bravo Burrito. I have been to many different Mexican restaurants at different cities and I can tell this is one of the best mexican restaurants, especially in South Dakota, maybe even entire Rocky mountain region. Great, affordable dinner after 12 hours of driving! Our server Becca couldn't have been more lovely and engaging. Chips and salsa were very good and came right away. The top shelf margarita was delicious on a hot summer day and unique that it was served in a low ball martini glass rimmed with salt and came with an additional cold shaker to refill a couple times more! A bargain at $8!! "Cups" of soup- tortilla and abondiga- are large and delicious. The abondiga was especially good... I'm still thinking about it and I'm a southern California girl who eats lots of traditional Mexican. I have eaten at the Corona Village each time I've visited Mitchell. All of my past visits have been good - decent service and food. However, my recent visit was entirely different. The food was okay, but the service was horrible! This young waitress got my order wrong, then tried to convince me to just eat what was served. After my insistence that I wanted what I ordered, she stated that the order would need to go to the "end of the que" - meaning that it was going to have to wait for all other orders taken after mine to get processed first. Fortunately, someone in the kitchen sized things up and worked to get me my food order. I ordered fajitas and only received two very small corn tortillas (from the original wrong order) for me use to put the food on the plate together. When the second (correct) order came to my table, I requested another tortilla. I didn't realize that the waitress would take this literally, but she brought me one additional very tiny corn tortilla - with her hand and cold like the other two. My friend had also ordered coffee, but it was never served until the very end of our meal; about the time when we were trying to get the waitress' attention to pay the bill and leave. It appears that the restaurant serves a crispy cream-filled pastry as a courtesy after meal treat, but, although there were three of us at the dining table, the waitress only gave us two pieces. We began to wonder if she was possibly drugged, as it just didn't make any sense whatsoever! I might as well add that the waitress wore a white outfit stained with food - a fitting end to a dismal dining experience! From an outsider, you could see this as a very funny folly. However, we just didn't get the joke - if there even was one. read more

We pulled off the interstate needing a hot meal and a break from driving. From the moment we stepped in the door the staff was very attentive, from the hostess to the waiters. We were seated promptly, brought our drinks and complimentary chips and salsa immediately. Even brought extra salsa-another reviewer had mentioned the small serving cups the salsa came in, so asked for extra right away. I ordered the fajita burrito and my husband had the bravo burrito. Huge portions, came on very hot plates. The steak in my fajita burrito was very tasty, the veggies cooked just right. My husband enjoyed his meal, also.
