Looking for evening eats in Mitchell, Corona Village was there to serve. Corona Village looks like a family restaurant with its booth seating and tables for larger parties. They present so too because they broke out Happy Birthday performances in the visit for guests, so that was nice and the staff seemed fairly into it. I Got my enchilada on along with a couple literal Coronas and though not the best, definitely hit the spot after a long day. Beers were a tad high as was the side of guac when the bill came but I suppose it's somewhat expected given the inflation afoot currently. A warning about the guac would've been nice. Also as big as the menu is, I didn't see an option for a side of Tacos. That would've been cool. Still though solid Mexi food out in SD and convenient to walk to from the surrounding motels.

    Chimichanga- rice and beans, delicious!

We arrived after 2:00 on a Monday afternoon and had the place to ourselves. The restaurant was very clean and our waitress (I believe her name was Ricky) was extremely helpful and pleasant. Prices were very inexpensive and I took home enough leftovers for another lunch! Highly recommend!

Generous portions of food. Pretty stingy with the salsa. In a big city, I would never go back to this place. In the middle of South Dakota, better than I expected to find, and I would probably eat here again.

GREAT Place to eat fresh hot food. Wonderful chips and salsa! Very clean a super friendly wait staff!

Never seen brown white meat chicken before.

Seems they use soy sauce on the chicken the waiter said! Yuck. Wasted over $20 to throw in thrash. Should have gone with my gut when I saw their filthy window. Never again!!!

    Margaritas!

We were kind of chuckling about the outside-- it was slightly in need of a good hosing. Then we got inside and the bartender came to our table to take our drink order-- nice guy but a bit rattled. We were a bit concerned that we had miscalculated. Then the food arrived. A Dios Mia! My partner had the carnitas and I had the pollo malteado. He had refried beans, I had the whole beans. It was all so ridiculously good, I don't even know how to express it. The staff was working hard (except perhaps the hostesses- how about running chips and salsa when there is no one to seat?) and the food was excellent. The margaritas were delicious. Eccellente!

    Chicken chimichanga.

Hands down, the very best Mexican food I've had in my entire life. And that is no joke. I've been eating Mexican food everywhere possible since as far back as I can remember. I'm from California for goodness sake! Who knew I would have to go to South Dakota to find the very best! We're getting a pint of the salsa to take with us! Yum! The chimichanga was so juicy and yummy. The Spanish rice to die for! Even the beans are the best.

Great place. While I only there for some adult beverages with friends it was a great time. I am looking forward to actually dining there.

Corona Village is awesome. Good salsa, good service. Big portions of food at an affodable price.

Ordered a platter. Shrimp and mushrooms portion was tasty, but too greasy. Well presented and excellent friendly service.

Once again Yelp pointed out another great restaurant slightly off the beaten path. El Columpio…read moremeans the swing and there are swings for seats around the windows. The swings looked like fun, but given my age and the delicious sangria I had, a regular chair was the safest choice. The place was spotless and the service was fast and friendly. And the food was delicious. I'm from Montana so my taste is probably on the mild side. The chili rellano was perfect for me. There were sauces on the table so I am sure you could season any dish to your taste. And you should have the sangria for sure.

El Columpio is situated in a free-standing structure that looks as if a previous fast-food establishment might have been there. The dining room simple and clean. We felt welcomed and the staff is very friendly. So we were expecting a place where you walk up to the counter to place your order and get a number to pick-up your order when ready (or some variation of this). We were greeted immediately and invited to sit down. I looked up at the front wall where typically the menu items and prices are listed. This turned out to be only half of what I expected. That is to say, only menu items were listed but there no prices listed, and no birria either! Their tri-fold sleeved menu didn't have birria on it either. All these observations suggest that perhaps El Columpio might have been previously-located elsewhere; and had now semi-modified their service process. So I asked about the birria and the server replied it's not on the usual menu but they have it by request, he checked his computerized menu, and said that we could get three quesa birrias for $19.95 (or just created the menu item). Our three quesa birrias came in a platter with rice and beans and a little bit of shredded iceberg lettuce. When the birria platter arrived I immediately thought it looked really greasy and only ate the interior meat portion. I also that perhaps the meat tasted more like shredded pork rather than the traditional goat meat that is usually in birria. My chef friend informed ne that such substitutions are common but we should been inform of them too. Despite our expections being a bit off, we both thought that $19.95 for this platter was excessive. My sister even said that she would have preferred going to Taco Bell than to El Columpio.
