Finally after sitting in 105 degree weather for over 3 hours and fighting with Progressive, I called the Az Highway Patrol. They dispatched Hamilton. The driver was out in 30 minutes. She was totally concerned with my safety. Completely professional. I felt so taken care of after that long ordeal. I wish I could remember her name but she was awesome. Got the car but battery was beyond dead, more dead than what my little lithium battery powered jump starter could handle. Figured I'd call AAA since I've got the Premier plan so this tow home would be covered. Truck driver arrived 30 min later, and NOPE, apparently this is a "courtesy" tow as opposed to an "emergency" tow, which would NOT be covered since the car was not currently registered or insured. Apparently AAA doesn't do those anymore. I then called a towing company I recall seeing in one of the Facebook groups I'm in, and I'm quoted $190 for a 12 mile tow, but it'll be at least a 3 hour wait. Owner/dispatcher said he'd find out where his drivers are and will let me know. 30 minutes later and I still haven't heard back, and the wife was starting to get hangry. I finally find out that the driver was way out by Tucson and they wouldn't be able to come until 10:30 pm which was 7 hours later. Unfortunately, one of the front windows was open and with a dead battery I couldn't close it, and I just couldn't trust it left open as is until night time. While we were waiting to hear back on the location of the driver my wife found the Tow Guys on Yelp and was already in the middle of messaging Tony, who was very responsive and helpful. After finding out the first company wasn't going to work, my wife got a quote from Tony which was less than half what we were quoted from the first company. Not only that, as soon as we said ok Tony said the driver (Thomas) was en route. We hurried back from where we were about to grab something to eat 10 minutes away and minutes after we get back, Thomas arrives. I've had to get a few vehicles towed in my time (it's what you get when you have a bunch of old finicky German cars) and Thomas is the coolest tow truck driver I've ever met. Like, so cool we could be friends. He brings out this beast of a jump starter to try to jump start it so he could better line up the car. It starts, but the transmission issue pops up and is unable to be put into drive nor neutral. Thomas works his magic and is able to get it into neutral after a few minutes. A quick drive home and he's able to put it exactly where I need it to go. What started as a not so pleasant day turned out to be a great one. Easy and painless, as opposed to most times when you need a tow. I'm so glad the first company wasn't able to do the job so we were able to meet Thomas and we now have a "tow guy" we can trust, and everyone needs a tow guy they can trust! 10/10 would not hesitate to use them again, in fact I am planning on having them assist with future projects already ;)

So I ended up stranded, alone, in a not so great area and couldn't get ahold of anyone at such a late hour for a ride. I called Buckeye Towing and felt a great sigh of relief when the other end was picked up. When Jon showed up not more than 20 minutes later; his demeanor was reassuring and his courteous manner put me at ease. The lemon and I got home home without incident last night and the towing rate was very reasonable. Someone calls me back on a different number and says they're about 15 minutes out. 25 minutes later I get a text they confirmed they arrived with my roadside assistance. 15 minutes later I'm on the phone getting a new dispatch. I'm still here 2 hours later. I'm pretty easy, things happen. But ghosting someone who is stranded is just plain disrespectful. If you're ever in a situation where they get selected as your dispatch just stop them their and ask for someone else. If you're considering them on your own accord, you can do better. Thanks for nothing!
