I pulled into town on Thursday night, saw Dr. Mitchell first thing Friday morning. He referred me to Dr. Anderson (at Dr. Timmis' office) and I met with him a few hours later. I left there with a prescription for pain meds and an extraction appointment for the following Monday morning. Their willingness to work with me went a long way. Their customer service was invaluable and the procedure itself went incredibly smooth. I understand how scary dental procedures can be but I would recommend this office to anyone in a heartbeat.

Recently, when scheduling an appointment for my elderly mother, we specifically asked whether they accepted her insurance. We clearly told them the name of the insurance and even sent a photo of her insurance card. The day before the appointment, the office called and texted to confirm. However, the morning of the appointment, they sent a message saying they do not take her insurance and that we could pay out of pocket instead. There was no apology and no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, despite the time we spent preparing for the appointment and taking time off work. It was disappointing, especially given how long we've trusted this practice. I hope the office improves its communication and insurance verification process so other patients don't have a similar experience.

This was surprising to me as I have been receiving dental care every 6 months for my whole life and haven't had a cavity in 10+ years. My prior dentist was in my hometown and someone I had been going to since childhood and was very familiar with my teeth. Because we had a good relationship with this dentist, my mom even asked them what they thought and they warned that I should get a second opinion. However, I was scared of having cavities, so went ahead with the fillings on Dr. Kearns recommendation ($400+ out of pocket for a college student). I was also told to buy an expensive specialty toothpaste in the office that retailed for half the price on Amazon. Over the next several months, I had horrific, constant dental pain where the fillings were. I couldn't eat anything on one side of my mouth for months. After about two weeks of pain, I went in for a revision, which did not help. Only now 6 months later I am starting to be able to eat on the other side of my mouth. I should note that I had no dental pain in this region before despite the diagnosis of three cavities. I should have switched after this, but had scheduled a 6 month cleaning immediately after my first appointment which crept up on me, so decided to just go in and do the cleaning. When I arrived, the front desk told me I had a balance of $170 that they were about to send to collections. I had not received a single text, email, or physical mail notifying me of my balance. I was able to pay this balance, but knowing that they were happy to send this to collections and potentially impact my credit score without any notification is a disgrace. The cleaning itself was fine, but my hygienist told me Dr. Kearns was very busy and when she came to check me out she barely spoke a word to me, only rattling off dental jargon to the hygienist. I will not be returning to Intown Dental Center. I have never had anxiety related to the dentist until now. The poor bedside manner, weaponization of authority to overprescribe procedures/sell you things you don't need, shoddy fillings, and lack of billing transparency all made this a horrible experience.

Dental World Marietta: Where do I even begin?…read more If you have dental anxiety, are in severe pain, or expect to be treated with basic compassion and respect, I would think very carefully before going here. I arrived with a severely infected tooth and facial swelling so significant that my phone's facial recognition would no longer recognize me. I was in excruciating pain, extremely anxious, and scared. I had explained my severe dental anxiety both on the phone and again while I was there. I was literally sitting in the room crying from fear, anxiety, and pain. The dentist who came into the room never even introduced himself to me. I was told I needed an X-ray that I had already explained I could not afford. It was done anyway, and almost immediately afterward I was approached about payment. I was then told the infected tooth needed to be drained. The dentist came into my room multiple times telling me he was going to numb me, only to leave again without doing it. Meanwhile, my face was extremely swollen, I was in terrible pain, and I was becoming increasingly distressed. Eventually, after repeatedly waiting for the treatment I had been told I needed, I got up and went toward the front to ask when the dentist was actually going to help me. Instead of showing any compassion for a patient who was clearly frightened and in pain, I was told that I "didn't want help" and was told to leave. I was kicked out of a dental office while suffering from a painful dental infection and significant facial swelling after they had already told me the infection needed to be drained. They offered nitrous oxide for my extreme anxiety, but I was told it would cost an additional $150. What upset me most, though, wasn't simply the cost. It was how I was treated while visibly terrified and in pain. The final insult was having a staff member laugh at me during the confrontation as I was being told to leave. I came there because I needed medical help. I did not expect special treatment. I expected basic dignity, communication, and compassion from healthcare professionals. Instead, I left humiliated, still in severe pain, still swollen, and without the treatment they themselves had told me I needed. No patient experiencing a dental emergency and severe anxiety should be made to feel ashamed, cheap, inconvenient, or disposable for asking when they are going to receive care. I will never return, and based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office.

The staff confirmed multiple times that if I paid this full amount upfront, I would not have any additional expenses. They even had me sign a document stating that my total patient responsibility was $440. Despite this, the front desk repeatedly gave me inconsistent billing information during my visit. Still, I trusted their final calculation and paid the amount they said was the complete balance. Months later, I received an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from my insurance company showing that they paid more than expected to the dental office. Yet, five months after my visit, I was suddenly contacted and told that I now owe an additional $245.21. This is incredibly frustrating and feels extremely unprofessional. Being told one amount, paying in full, signing documentation, and then being asked for more money months later is unacceptable. I am very disappointed with the service and the lack of transparency from this office.

After being one of his patients for more than 25 years I was a little nervous about a new dentist but I can honestly say Dr. Kabani has been AWESOME. Her and the entire team are super friendly, always have a few minutes to shoot the breeze. They really always go the extra mile in taking care of the patients. But if you need more convincing, here's a recent story that will demonstrate the level of care evidenced by the entire staff. My elderly mom lived us with for the last few years and would go to Dr. Kabani to get her dentures cleaned and an overall oral check. Mom had a bit of dementia but Dr. Kabani and the entire team were kind, caring, and patient with her. Mom always loved her trips to the dentist and loved having her dentures be so clean. And she always loved all the people there. She recently passed and the team took the time to send flowers and condolences. That's above and beyond in my book and is just one of the reasons I will keep coming to Kabani Dental. And you should too!

Sadly he retired, and sadly I faced some terrible life journeys. Those journeys lead me to destroy my teet, through the years they decayed father and further, I honestly thought there might not be any hope for me. That's where Dr. Sarabess comes in, she came recommended from someone. Upon entering the office I was greeted warmly. When we took xrays and came up with a plan of affirmative action that's when the real work took off. Not only did she comment to me that she just waanted to see me smile. She wanted me to have the confidence to smile. I have hidden my smile for years from coworkers, to friends and even my family. She is the Michel Angelo of teeth, she took the time to read my X-ray. She told me that she would do her absolute best not to do a root canal, though it may have to happen. Here I am six teeth later with no root canals yet. Let's hope there isn't a need for them. It goes to show her conservative nature in her field and how seriously she takes her work. She could have easily taken an easier route, and not sculpted and molded my teeth. She choose to take her time, to rebuild my smile, and my confidence. We have a lot more work to go but I will always go to her for my dentistry, her attention to detail and care for her patients is unparalleled. I am extremely grateful to have a dentist like her!
