Cort Furniture is a hidden gem and the people that work there are the jewels in the crown. I was in dire need of new furniture fast. My previous furniture was included in my coop sale. So, now what. I didn't have an unlimited budget but wanted quality furniture and then through the magic of the internet I stumbled upon the Cort Furniture website. I looked at the pictures of the furniture with the listed prices and thought, this is too good to be true. It wasn't. When I walked in Angie immediately greeted me and let me know she was there if I needed any help. And boy, did she help me. Angie has wonderful taste and through her assistance I was able to furnish my living room and bedroom for under 1,600. This price included a beautiful sectional couch, 8x10 luscious rug and bamboo bedroom set. They really care at Cort furniture. I forgot to buy a bedframe while I was there and the manager brought it to me on his way home. I don't know anywhere else where you can get this kind of service, caring and value. The furniture we picked was certainly nice, but it better be for the price. The delivery and pick up teams were efficient and respectful. But there was no room to negotiate price for people that wanted a flexible schedule (one month was the same price as 3 months - what??!!!). And the pick up time was all messed up: the window was 1-4, but they didn't show up until 5. It made it difficult for me on my last day in Chicago with my kids - we even missed my oldest boy's karate class. There was no compensation for this issue. read more

I relocated internationally and my company uses CORT to rent furniture while employees belongings are in transit from overseas. I had a terrible experience with CORT every step of the way. The prices you see in the catalog seemed a little pricey but reasonable. We made our selections and sent it to the sales associate helping us. When we received the final estimate, the price had almost doubled the sum of the individual items in the catalog. They had layered on top some very hefty delivery fees, services fees, fees, fees, fees. Our order came out over $5,000 and all we had ordered was a couple of beds, a sofa and two armchairs, a dresser and mirror, and a dining room table and four chairs. We only needed it for a month. For $5,000 we could've nearly bought all of this brand new. Needless to say we expected the furniture to be very high quality. When it finally came, the furniture was setup in the respective rooms of our house and everything appeared in order. It wasn't long after they left that my wife sat down in one of the dining room chairs and immediately was struck with the stench of cigarette smoke. She has asthma and the smell immediately irritated her lungs. It was even strong for me and I don't have asthma. We immediately checked the other furniture and the dresser was the exact same. It didn't smell from the outside, but the insides of the drawers stunk so bad we couldn't put our clothes in them. We had to take the dining room chairs and dresser out to the garage because they were so foul. Furthermore, the two beds we received were obviously very cheap. They were akin to sleeping on concrete. Our guests had to go out and buy a mattress pillow top cover because they had back problems and couldn't sleep on the mattresses as they were. Lastly, when we called them to come pick up the furniture, we requested a morning pickup as we had other contractors working in the afternoon and didn't what the two teams in each other's way. They said the only way we can guarantee they can come in the morning is for us to pay another $200 fee. Otherwise, they will just come when they will. Even after their terrible service, they still tried to squeeze every last dollar out of this transaction. In hindsight, we never would've touched CORT with a ten-foot pole. read more

The entire staff was wonderful and helpful; however, Angie's customer service was the most excellent. She also facilitated the delivery process and made it a quick, seamless, and convenient experience. CORT furniture has closed the Chicago outlet location and switched to fully online. This is the best place to go!!!!! I had a nightmare of an experience and Cort really went above and beyond to help fix everything for me. WAY TO GO MARK! I had ordered a table upwards of $2000 from a different furniture company and then was told it was lost in the mail (how that happens I have no idea) I was in tears. I had a big party planned and caterers ready to arrive in a matter of days and no table for my dining room. I drove to Cort to see if there was anything they could do. Mark not only found me a table, but worked it out where I was able to buy a table that would normally only be for rent. My fiance and I were looking for furniture at very specific price points. Mark and his colleague took amazing care of us. He really hooked it up. We left with more than we came for and spent less $$ than expected. I kept suggesting cheaper looking couches if he couldnt hit my price point with my first choice and he wouldnt allow it. We left with my 1st choice coffee table, couch, nesting tables and 2 floor lamps all for the prices I wanted to pay!!
