Because I can no longer do the work, I jumped through all the hoops this company puts you through: filled out the forms on line, watched the introduction vid. Called the office when I didn't get the promised response in the time they set. Replied to the email sent with the pick you package pricing. Sent credit card info to have work done. I should have heard Tuesday about service beginning but I'm still waiting for a real person to call or something to appear in the darn portal I had to set up. Meanwhile my weeds I wanted them to take care of grow and look really bad. I'm done. And no, I'd never recommend this company. read more

Uncaring Workers, Uncaring Company My father uses Cory's Lawn service. I've been in town because my Dad is very sick and dying. One worker never took her phone off her ear during the entire time she was edging. I had to bring my dogs because this is an emergency trip. I've spent the last 2 weeks putting in 15 hour days going to the hospital, checkig on my Dad, helping at the house. I guess I didn't clean up enough dog poop and Cory's Lawn Service sent my Dad a formal complaint letter (which he read in the hospital). If they would have even made the effort to call I could have explaied the situation. I will be taking that complaint letter to their office to discuss in person. Cory's is great! We have a small patch of grass in our front yard and mowing it became enough of an inconvenience that we finally decided to outsource the job. I decided on Cory's after reading and comparing lawn service reviews. I asked for a quote via Yelp and someone responded to me quickly and I was given a quote the next business day. I have been using Cory's now for two months and I only have positive things to say about them. They have a nice branded truck that doesn't leak oil. They have multiple people to quickly mow, edge and blow off any leftover debris. They even send weekly receipts via email! I'm very happy with this service. read more

I called to schedule services with these people and I'm glad I am not moving forward with them. I feel like the customer service would have been getting worse and worse. They don't care about customer satisfaction. If you need someone who will work with your schedule they are definitely NOT it. They will schedule services three days out. The lawn service itself was standard and to be expected for residential lawn care needs. I had this company aerate, fertilize, check my sprinklers and mow weekly in 2021. Beware of the scheduling which is a pain. The company does not schedule exact days for your service. You will be put on their roster and emailed (now they have a text option - they didn't when I used them) 2-3 days before they are scheduled to come. I keep my gates locked for security purposes. The sporadic scheduling is very difficult when traveling and working out of the area. I terminated the mowing services last summer after the company arrived to locked gates, charged me but didn't call. When I called the office, the lady I spoke to was apologetic and asked if they could fix it. I told her the sporadic scheduling with short notification windows didn't work with our schedules and how we keep our gates locked. I was nice and polite. She told me to please think of them for other future lawn needs. I said I would. Fast forward to this morning. I called to schedule lawn aeration this spring. I was told they only do aeration in conjunction with other services. So I asked if we could do an aeration and fertilizer package. I was told they would email me a quote. I received a snarky email - see below - from a woman in the office. They guys doing the labor do a great job. Just know what you are getting into with the office and scheduling. Mad props to Josiah who does the sprinkler checks! He is very passionate about what he does and helped troubleshoot our ground saturation issues *Clarification - this is NOT a veteran owned company. Cory's serviced our yard for a few years and just did not deliver last year. It was a problem from go. To start, we always got full service lawn care that included sprinkler/drip line maintenance, yard clean ups, seeding and fertilizing, ect. If they sold it, we bought it. Last year started with them suddenly refusing to mow our back lawn due to dog poop. Fine- BUT... we get a professional cleaner weekly. We hadn't had professional poopers in seasons prior but I had a baby and we hired one, so this was the first time they not only made an issue, but also the first time the yard was *actually* clean since working with them. They come on the same day. There is not months of dog poop, can you come later? No. They can't. This goes on for weeks of them refusing due to poop, our scooper charging us for overgrown grass, them not coming back to mow later despite the office saying they will remedy this, ect. It was like going in circles. We actually got a new scooper to come the day before them and I STG they still sent pictures of tiny turds from my 11 lb dogs as evidence to not mow for a few weeks because the overgrowth was pretty significant at that point so poop would be hiding. Second, i put my law furniture on a few dirt-only areas that wouldn't need to be mowed. They refused mowing due to "furniture in the way". My dude, did you simply peer into the yard, see a chair and say no thank you? There was not grass to mow within at least 6 inches, it didn't need to be moved in the slightest. Once those two things were fixed, we had a mostly fine season. I did have to move the chair *off the dirt* for them to mow my grass, but I digress. At the end of the year, we had them come for a fall clean up. The crew completely removed my staked-in-ground fence to clean up behind it and put it back but did not secure the ends. This fence isn't for decor, it took literal years of my dog escaping regularly (remember the 11 lb one with tiny turds) because she can fit through the permeant fence; there is a wall of lilac that I can't get behind to chicken wire and she would find any opening and get through it ad infinitum until this fence went in. Of course she got out that same day for hours (came back eventually, probably left shit in a lot of people's yards on the way, I wonder if Cory's refused their service that day) and it took me three or more times to reset that GD fence so there were no longer holes to escape through. They also took the hidden stakes between the stakes out (hard to explain without seeing it) so my dog started going under the fence since it wasn't secured at multiple points. To say "Cory's almost killed my dog" would be an over exaggeration, but come on. Anything can happen when a dog gets out, including the dog biting someone, getting bit, getting hit, eating something, ect. The fence served a purpose, a courtesy knock at the door to tell me that it was moved and replaced would have prevented the issue all together because I would have checked. The fence wasn't even close to how it was originally placed, just along a similar line. After this, I told my husband that Cory's was not welcome on my property. Anyways, first nice day of the year and I am outside assessing the yard for my gardening plans and I realize Cory's cut down my volunteer rose bush that was, admittedly, in a weird spot but bloomed for years. They also took my hydrangea to the ground. Not sure if it will grow back, but hydrangeas only grow on last year's "wood" so we will certainly not be getting roses or hydrangeas this year. It's very unfortunate that our relationship with Cory's soured so quickly as I was very fond of every individual that helped us out prior to last season. read more

Started out great for my father's home in Reno. Service definitely has gone downhill recently though it seems. The crew goes through the motions, shows up, mows the lawn and leaves. They don't seem to care about the health of the lawn or how it looks, however. Our lawn got so bad-looking that we received a warning from the homeowners association that they were going to fine us. I asked Corey's crew to please send someone to see what they could do about the state of the lawn. There was no follow-up and nobody ever showed. Sadly, after all of this time, we had to just change services. They were very nice about cancelling our service and totally understood why we did so. They credited us for the previous lawn service. I certainly appreciate their integrity. Hopefully, they will get things together and return to the level of service they are known for. read more

We had an emergency irrigation problem where half of our backyard was not getting any water at all. After checking everything- timers, valves, electrical, we couldn't find what was wrong. We called Cory's Lawn Service and although we had to wait a few days to get on their schedule, when their technician came out, he diagnosed the problem quickly, dug out and replaced a crimped line due to over grown roots of a plant. He also put everything back including DG, the way he found it in about an 1.5 hours. Sure beats watering our yard by hand for several days of terribly hot weather! It seems so difficult these days to get businesses to respond to your inquiries. I can honestly tell you that in the past month that I've been looking for various companies to do service, perhaps only 25% of them even reply. Not the case with Cory's team. They responded immediately and always kept in touch. I needed a clean-up of the yard of my new home and the landscape company I usually use was simply too busy. Cory's team was great - no pressure to add more service - very responsive and pleasant as well. I returned home yesterday to a neat and clean yard. They have my sincerest thanks and strongest recommendation. read more

Be weary of this company. Corey's lawn service does not inform its customers that it signs them up for reoccurring services upon payment. Unless you specifically say "I only want a one time service" they will save your credit card and continue to charge you and service your yard without your approval. When I brought this issue up with them they said "we sent you an email but you never followed up with us so we just went out anyways. We're sorry you don't check your email." These were the exact words from their phone clerk. Maybe this is normal for their business but I don't think that it's professional to use an unanswered email as confirmation for a service. They also said that they let customers know about the reoccurring nature of their services in their emails. Here is what their emails say... "We wanted to make you aware that we require all customers to place a credit card on file with us that is set-up on auto pay. This means that we will send out your invoice to your email address each Monday AFTER any service was completed the previous week. The card on file will then be charged two days later, on Wednesday afternoon, to allow time for you to look over the invoice you received and call-in with any questions or concerns." No where does this statement describe that the service will continue each season as a subscription. And that if you don't want to continue the service that you need to cancel your subscription and have your card removed from their filings. They ended up breaking one of our sprinklers when they came out to do this service that was not requested and will only fix it if we pay them the $90 labor charge. We would have given them one star but they get two stars because they did refund this unrequested service after arguing it over the phone. I'm not the only one this has happened to. You can scroll through these reviews to find More unhappy customers who were charged without permission as well. - In response to the owners comment - I wish I could locate this video you mentioned... I have attached photos of the original confirmation email that I received for the original services purchased in April 2020. I also attached photos of the list of advertisements and emails I received from you around December. As you can see there is no literature implying that I purchased a reoccurring service. And no notification that I needed to cancel that subscription if I do not want my service to reoccur. My only point in continuing this conversation is to provide honest feedback to the community and to your company. An email/video that was supposedly sent to me many months later in December among a random assortment of advertising from your company notifying me of a reoccurring service is not OK. This is something that should be explicit upon purchase and it wasn't. read more

I work for Head Start, an organization helps our families in the community. Cory's Lawn Service came and helped us clean up our outside and playgrounds of a couple schools. They helped make our schools safe and aesthetic for our preschoolers. Everyone in the company was nice, professional and responded promptly to all of our requests. They followed up afterwards and made sure that everything was take care of. We are truly grateful because we are company that is here solely to help the community, and they really helped us do our job. I was a customer of Cory's Lawn Service for the last two years, but this year I decided to make a change. I want this to be a fair and balanced review, so I would rate Cory's this way: Lawn Maintenance: 5 Stars Customer Service: 0 Stars Cory's will take care of your lawn extremely well - doing fertilizing and weed control promptly. Their on-site staff is absolutely top notch. But.. I hope you never need to reach them, because during the growing season it's virtually impossible to speak to a live person and emails get answered only sporadically. Case in point: I emailed them because I was hoping they could troubleshoot a balky sprinkler timer. It took them over a month to respond and when they finally did, I told them I had someone else take care of the problem. They replied by saying they couldn't believe I didn't love their Customer Care Program. Case in point: Last season, Cory's required customers to provide them with a debit card, which they charged after every service - I had no problem with that. However, one week I received an email from them stating that my service would be "paused" due to an unpaid weekly bill! I immediately paid the bill manually (using the same card they had on file) and emailed back that the bill had been paid. But, because THEY had taken responsibility of charging my debit card, I asked them if under the circumstances their action wasn't a bit "severe"? I never received any reply. That's why I'm done with them. read more

Initial feeling with them was terrible customer service. I called to get service started and instead of reaching a person, you'll get automated messages to leave your own. So I then requested to "get a quote," Took two days to get said quote by email. No one contacts you personally with a call, just automated text and emails. Then you have to "check off what you want, no contracts" but they had a flat rate service for bush trimming along with clean up. All I have is one bush that needs trimming (beyond some aeration and such I also want done) that definitely isn't worth $285 to do. But if you want to have someone sent to your property you have to check that box, so I did. I also sent a text with questions to the sales manager, she didn't call, just another text back. Fine. So after checking my boxes, it took another post 24hrs to hear anything back.... oh yeah just by email. Still no one calls you, and then it asks to set up a portal profile and login along with your payment cards. STILL NO ONE CONTACTS YOU, and they are already asking for money setup!! For me, the final straw was that I checked off "first time mow" service, as I don't want weekly just yet. And I had absolutely NO problem paying the first time mow price every other week, BUT instead another automated email told me that I can't have a "first time mow" unless I want "weekly mows" that sounds like a nice little trick to maneuver customers into a contract, doesn't it. And again I never even got to speak to anyone about setting up my services. So my services are going elsewhere, if this is how they start their business interactions I have zero hope for what quality of services they will actually provide. Instead I called United Lawn Care, here off of Yelp and someone answered my call immediately! And they can come out IN PERSON to see my lawn tomorrow. Even if they're more expensive, that's they type of customer service interactions I want and expect from a service oriented company read more

I loved that they didn't need to come out to my property to give me some quotes (I assumed they look up the property themselves) and that they emailed me their exact services and prices (quite reasonable). Their non-pressured, no-contract approach was perfect. I signed up for their service and I can't wait to see how it goes! We switched from another company to Cory's Lawn Service in the Spring of 2019 for no other reason than we were impressed by Cory's marketing efforts. I always wondered if we were considered "low priority" to any landscaping company since all we use them for is to turn our sprinklers on/off in the spring/fall and fix the occasional break in the system after the winter freeze. We were also interested in trying a pre-emergent for the first time to cut back on weed growth and knew we should probably have our lawn aerated. We received postcard mailers from Cory's Lawn Service about both, so decided to give them a try. Now I gauge a company not just by how well they do the job, but how honest they are and how well they handle it when things go wrong. Cory's Lawn Service gets an A+ from me on all counts. First off, we have yet to try pre-emergent mainly because Cory has been so honest about letting us know that the timing wouldn't yield the best results. Our winters have been kinda all-over-the-place in recent years which apparently makes for a narrow window of when pre-emergent can work; once weeds have already taken root, it's too late to be effective. We're cool with that and appreciate that they don't try to up-sell us on something that might not be worth the cost. Applying pre-emergent is a pretty big expense for a yard our size. Maybe one year our timing will work out to give it a try. Then last Spring (2020), we got a chance to really see the integrity of Cory and his company at work ... Cory's tech, Josiah, came to turn on our system in April and said there had been a problem during our water shut-off the year prior which snapped-off our irrigation on/off valve so he couldn't turn our water on until it was fixed. Josiah saw in the job notes from the previous Fall that the break was the error of the person turning our water off, and thus, they would take care of fixing it for us. Of course, we were concerned and wondered why we weren't made aware of this at the time of shut-off in the Fall of 2019. After further review, they apologized saying the technician's notes were made in the wrong spot of their new automated system, and thus did not readily show-up in the notes that were returned to the office after our job that day. We understood. Errors happen. We just wanted our system fixed so we could water our lawn during an usually warm early-Spring, and of course, expected not to be charged since it was their error that caused the break. It took a little more back-and-forth than I had hoped for to make this happen partly because ... A)  this all went down not long after the COVID lock-down began, and B)  Cory's system is so automated and his team is so well-trained to respond to "typical" system breaks caused by winter freezes, that we got stuck in a loop of automated emails estimating "our cost" for the repair. Bottom line, you gotta get past the gatekeeper. Once we figured out Cory's personal email, things got handled very quickly. Within a few days of reaching Cory directly, he sent out someone who did a "quick fix" to get our irrigation system immediately back up and running. When my husband noticed that the quick-fix was missing an extra component he had specially installed some years back, Cory offered to get it fixed back to that status ASAP for us. I didn't want him to rush unpaid work since we were knee-deep into lawn season. I was glad that at least we had our sprinklers and drip system working at a time where it was really needed. I told Cory to keep us on his to-do list for a time when things were less busy. Fast forward to the Fall ... this is what *really* impressed me. I fully expected to have to be proactive and bring our issue back up to Cory in the Fall. Much to my surprise/delight I did not have to do this. On September 11, I received an email that my job was scheduled to be completed. Two days later, Josiah brought our on/off valve system back to its full and original state, and as promised, at no cost to us. And so, we remain faithful clients of Cory's Lawn Service. In addition to turning on/off our system, we now also get Aeration and fertilization in the Spring/Fall as well. We are on an "automatic" list for these services when they are due, so we don't have to remember to schedule and we are under no contractual obligations - we are free to cancel at any time. Cory's team is always super-professional and friendly, and I never feel like we are a lower-priority client just because we don't subscribe to weekly lawn care. In fact, one of his guys was so kind as to bring out his edger for no extra charge during our aeration last Fall after I told him our edger had just broke. I used these guys for a year for my rental home monthly and my other home as needed. I included pictures of the rental property so you have an idea of landscaping. First off 3 stars because they kept my property taken care of and as far as doing a good job I am 100% satisfied. However, there was a lot of billing confusion between my property and the rental. I probably called about 6 times through the year for extra charges or clarification of what services need to be done at which home. Very unorganized in that department. I also felt very nickel and dimed. I needed the water shut off at both my homes and also bought valve covers for both properties. $50 bucks a cover, charged $55 for the rental and $65 for my house. I asked why the charge was different and they said it was because my house isn't serviced regularly. Even though I am a paying customer through the year and have my rental property through them. $65 to shut off water is pretty steep. I should have had my neighbors help me for free. They charged me $415 for Fall clean up after I was quoted $300. I have 2 trees in n front and none in the back. I also asked them not to prune large trees. The customer service was always so friendly. Nichole is very nice but these guys are very expensive. Called around and got a way better deal for next year almost half the price. I know these guys work hard and deserved to be paid well but $415 for my rental property is about half of what it should cost. Every friend told me I was ripped off. read more

First they make you give them all your info just to do a quote, was quoted $200 when on their website was $140 for the same service- I said I didn't want the service and unsubscribed/blocked their emails. Fast fwd 6m and I get a charge for $140 and and invoice email stating they went to my house and did weed servicing. Never once called me to schedule this never once emailed me from June to December when I got an emailed invoice. Trespassed on my property, did a service I didn't agree too then tried to charge me for it. Insane and terrible business; fought to press legal charges and my charge was reimbursed but I still cannot believe businesses try to get away with stuff like this- sickening. And as far as your company "reaching out" about services your emails were rejected as you knew and told me yet you never once tried to call me, leave a voicemail, nothing but yet your invoice email made its way to me... interesting. Also I did have to argue about putting this to legal matters as the first employer I spoke to did not mention a refund yet told me again and again this is what I signed up for... literally 6 months prior. We called Cory's after purchasing a home in Sparks that had been vacant for most of the year. The yard was completely overrun with weeds. All the landscaping had terrible overgrowth and the bushes were out of control. Cory's did a full cleanup, mowing, fertilizer, and weed control spraying over a few different visits. They did phenomenal! You can't even tell it's the same place!! Scheduling and payments are so easy and has been mostly all through email and their online portal. I'm very pleased with the communication and general customer service. We are so happy with the service and incredibly excited to continue to use Cory's to continue our yard maintenance to prepare for the end of the season and to get the grass growing strong in the spring.
