The station is a bit confusing when you arrive, but there is a central location with some bathrooms, a Dunkin', and some seating. Convenient location with parking and some amenities but don't expect too much of this station!

Metro North Greenwich Train Station is located near my family's home. I've got lots of family…read moremembers and used to visit frequently. For some reason I found this station easy to navigate when they picked up and dropped me off to return to the city. Maybe because I lived here as a child it's just sentimental. I either have my family pick me up here or in Port Chester. Both are close enough to where they live. Like other stations where I visit family I'm not going to complain!

The Amtrak employees are AMAZING. I've now taken several trips with this same crew, from DC to Baltimore to New Haven. They are SOLID people you feel safe with. For example, I fell asleep once and missed my stop. The conductor/employee helped me off and to find the train to get on to get back to my intended destination. This time around, the employee/conductor told me that I could get off in CT at State Street, which is what was on my ticket, but I would have to stay on the train much longer because they would have to turn around and re-align the trains. He gave me the tip that most passengers get off at Union station (SO close to State Street, it's a negligible distance). Then he took enough care to come back by again to tell me that Union was the next station if I wanted to get off. The cafe car was also wonderful. His credit card machine stopped working. I told him that I had cash, but made the joke that I didn't look forward to walking the LONG walk from the cafe car back to business class to get that cash. He offered to COME TO ME to get the cash later, and he did! Tipped him majorly! Business class is more expensive than coach, we are talking two to three times the price, but you get to choose your seat. On this particular line, it's never been full and I've never had anyone sitting next to me. It's worth it to me, but for some, it may not be. Cafe car has plenty of drinks and snacks. Sandwiches, cheese and cracker trays, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Nothing fancy, but gets the job done. But I can't get over how these guys have seemingly looked out for me and taken care of me on my many trips up and down the rails.

This is one of hands down my favorite stations as Stamford keeps an immaculate station. It is so…read moreclean and well kept. Although it definitely can be a bit confusing to navigate and figure out where to go if you're not family. I'd remove a star for the confusion and lack of signage within the station. It is also located in a very busy part of the town so be prepared go know where you're going before you get to the station as people are very impatient.

I was a commuter for over 10 years (CT to NY) and 95% of the time had great service. Sometimes you get loud, drunk or disorderly people and I wish the conductors would address the behavior but they pretty much duck their heads in the sand after ensuring everyone has paid their fare.

Right next to a diner and in walking distance of bars, a movie theatre and restaurants galore. An easy walk from most houses in Springdale. Some direct trains to Grand Central during peak times. Clean and usually on time. What more could you ask for?

Every weekend i start my day here. Most of the time the train is running on time but the few that…read moreare not, they announce that it's late when the train is coming around the corner. A little slow there. For the past couple of months they have been installing an elevator on the Stamford side of the platform. I think it's a month behind right now. But it will be nice to go down the stairs there again instead of walking to broadway for the ramp. I guess when they build it they didn't account for the traffic that it causes when people get off the train. It's a narrow one way street, and if a car is standing there waiting for their loved one to come home, they don't realize that they are blocking cars from going past them. When you beep at them they start to move but in my case they always seem to block my entrance to my parking lot, and when i point and unlock the fence they realized that they are still blocking me from turning into my lot. I hoping that it will be finished soon but in the meantime i try to avoid the area when the trains come in. Station is fairly clean and i only saw one homeless lady sleeping there.

Considering I have a long long family connection to this location and train station, I feel…read moreentitled to write a review. I've seen it in good times and bad. Whether it's safe these days at certain hours I'm not sure. I know I wasn't fond of traveling to Port Chester alone at times in my life. I remember the times I needed a cab. Finding a cab was hit or miss. Incoming trains are not on the side where you can easily enter the Station Building. You walk down the long flight of stairs to a back street. Frequently my family would be waiting outside the station to pick me up. Sometimes they were late! I've never seen the inside of the station dirty. I always found it deserted. I didn't travel during peak hours. On my return trips to Manhattan I go outside and wait patiently for the train. I'm always afraid I'll miss it if I wait inside. I sure don't want to be stuck there waiting for the next train! When my Cousin Jim was alive we would sit in the car and talk. When we saw the train coming I'd head upstairs to the track. He'd wait to see I boarded safely. That memory makes me sad. It was nice to be cared for by a Cousin/Brother. Since he died I don't go back to Port Chester much. I've only been to a couple of the Metro North Stations, and they are all kind of the same to me. If…read moreyou are out of town and/or don't ride the train very often it isn't exceptionally obvious what you should be doing. Thankfully there were some really nice people that were willing to help out a little and show me the ropes, from parking to getting the tickets. The help they provided was 5+ stars. Parking: Kind of a problem, everything is parking permit only. I was told that after 5:00 they rarely check for permits and 'you should' be ok. Worst case you get a parking ticket, not towed. I really didn't have time to stress about it, so I went with it. Thankfully they were right and I didn't get a ticket. When you are here you have to cross to the other side of the track to purchase your ticket. The train was really close to running on time and only had to wait a couple minutes. 40 - 45 minutes ride to get in to Grand Central including all the stops along the way for pick ups and drop offs. Last train back runs pretty late out of the city. The one I caught was at 11:30, but they had at least two more trains after mine with the latest somewhere between 12:30 and 1:00 am. Overall price and experience isn't bad. Primarily, I wish that they had parking that wasn't permit only. They may have, I just wasn't able to find it.
