DO NOT BUY!! Deceptive marketing promotes their Dekton material as impact resistant and the most durable material out there. After only one (1!) year, our Dekton countertops are chipped in 4 locations. I paid a small fortune for this and it looks like crap! Cosentino is weaseling out of their warranty. The chips were caused by bumping with glass, a plate & a coffee mug gently against the countertop when moving it from our island to the other countertop. None of the cups or plates broke, but left our countertop destroyed. This are deceptive business practices at least bordering if not fully illegal! You can't tout a product for a quality and then leave the customer out to dry when it comes to honoring your promise. DO NOT BUY! Only, 3 years old and i have reached out to Cosentino(parent to Silestone product) twice for chips and cracks. Answer is chips and cracks are not covered by our 25 YEAR warranty. CAN YOU believe it? Counter top material that chips on all edges on regular use. And really unknowledgeable field reps. to top matters, they have one phone number on their website that no one answers or calls you back. All roads lead to Rome and same local person at the end says NOOOOOOOOOOO. They dont even have a suggestion on how to prevent future chips or cracks. Our cracks are big and getting bigger. I am looking to sue them either in small claims court or gather enough folks to start a class action suit. Anyone interested? email me if interested please. We purchased "Bianco River" Silestone, manufactured by Cosentino, to put on our window ledge cabinets. This use was specified by our architect, fabricated by SMC Stone of Brooklyn, NY, and installed by our very experienced authorized contractor. The ledges cover fancoil units that supply heating and cooling. In November 2014 we observed a complete break in the stone. It runs from the corner of the vent cutout to the edge of the stone, about 5 inches long. The stone has completely pulled apart. It is located at the warmest part of the stone when the heat is on. I measured the temperature with a laser thermometer and it is only 104 degrees F. The manufacturer claims (in the Silestone Quick Reference Guide) that "Silestone is heat- and scorch-resistant" but that "certain exposure to heat may cause cracks due to thermal shock." If 104 degrees constitutes thermal shock, then Silestone has a problem. The break in the stone pulls apart 1/16 inch when warm and contracts so that the edges almost touch when cold. Obviously it is under heat stress. We reported the break to Cosentino and they had SMC Stone inspect the installation on Dec. 3, 2014. The inspector said the only way we could do such damage was by sitting on it. (No one has ever sat on the ledge.) He could find nothing wrong with the fabrication or the cabinet support, he said it looked fine. We did not hear from Consentino for 6 weeks so I contacted them. I received an e-mail from Customer Service Representative Viana Smith on Jan. 16, "Cracks can be created by many things and is not considered a manufacturing defect. We regret that this claim is denied." I then requested a copy of the inspection report provided to Cosentino by SMC Stone and the Cosentino Quality Control review, both of which were involved in the analysis process cited by Ms. Smith in an e-mail of Nov. 16. This request was ignored. The Silestone 25-Year Residential Warranty says "Silestone® Surfaces are stone products which will not crack unless an external force or interaction causes the crack such as impacts, uneven cabinets or flooring, structural settling or movements, thermal shock from the use of crock pots, skillets or other hot items placed directly on the Silestone® Surfaces, improper installation or other conditions in the home that may cause the Silestone® Surfaces to shift. Therefore, cracks are not covered by this warranty." This warranty is contradictory. How can state that your product "will not crack", then give a list of exceptions (none of which occurred in our case), then say "cracks are not covered"? Regardless of the warranty, Cosentino has totally misrepresented our issue as a crack. The stone is completely broken. The separation runs fully from surface to underside and end to end. read more

Cosentino Group - 5-inch break in Silestone - Countertop Installation Near Me - Sugar Land, Texas

We purchased SILESTONE (COSENTINO) (Roseville, Ca) counter tops for our kitchen remodel from LOWES (Cotati Ca.) on 3/4/2016. After discussing different installation options, we chose to use Lowes installer which was COUNTER FIT (Sacramento Ca.). All 3 of these companies knowingly sold / installed an inferior countertop which came with a useless 20-year warranty. The SILESTONE countertops were installed by COUNTER FIT on 3/28/2016. Fast forward to Thanksgiving 2017 - YES, a mere 20 MONTHS after the installation. While cleaning the kitchen my wife noticed an approximately 6-inch crack running from the corner seam (were countertops make a 90-degree bend along wall) towards the sink. This spot of the counter top is in what we refer to as "no mans land" meaning the only thing you place in the corner were the crack is located is a picture or napkin basket. No cooking, No prepping, No washing of any items, nothing happens use-wise in this area of the kitchen and there is a visible crack. Just for the record my house was built in 1952 so I am not going to buy the "house settling" story. No worries I thought (Big Mistake), we have a 20 Year warranty and it has only been 20 Months.... No problem - Right? Absolutely Wrong. This is where all three companies - SILESTONE (COSENTINO), COUNTER FIT & LOWES have collected their monies and now do not give two cents about the crappy product and crappy warranty they have sold and installed in your home - That's Customer Care at its best. I emailed Lowes kitchen design department first 11/27/2017 to report the problem, they emailed SILESTONE (COSENTINO) which in turn issued a warranty claim number. SILESTONE (COSENTINO) advised that the installer - COUNTER FIT would need to come out and inspect the crack. No problem, just let me know when and I would be there. Keep in mind this was November of 2017, No one ever contacted me to come out and inspect the problem. I have over a dozen emails for exactly 1 year where I am trying to get some sort of response from any of the 3 companies that profited from this transaction and NONE of them have responded. Today I sent yet another inquiry in regards to the warranty and finally received a response from COUNTER FIT that the warranty claim had been denied as it was "Not a Manufacture Defect".....What?...OK...what is it then is my question with no response. I guess a crack in an expensive counter top stone is normal after 20 months? After reviewing online complaints (www.complaintboards.com) this seems to be the norm for these folks at Silestone......Issue useless warranties and find any reason to deny all claims, in my case there isn't even a reason for denying the claim. No one came out and inspected the crack. The claim was just denied after the Silestone countertop cracked within 20 Months of install. Please stay away from all 3 companies stated above as they all are dishonest companies that need to learn a lesson in CUSTOMER SERVICE and HONEST DEALINGS. BUYER BEWARE. read more

In November I had silestone countertop installed by Quality Solid Surface out of NJ . I noticed ring stains on the island and was told that they were made by suction cups and I should use soft scrub. That did not work at all. I contacted Consentino, and they seemed to be helpful in the beginning. They told me the installer would contact me, but that did not happen. I tried contacting Quality Solid Surface and they would not return my calls. A rep from Consentino called me and said that he would contact the installer to see what could be done. He told me that the stains looked like they were made by some kind of chemical and that was not covered by the warranty. He also told me to use a product called cameo on the stains, but to be careful... it could scratch... I told him that I would like someone to come out and look at the stains because I didn't want to create a bigger problem. That was the last I heard from Consentino. I contacted the contractor, who tried to contact Consentino. They contractor said that Consentino wouldn't return their calls. I recently found something to get rid of the stains, but it would have been nice if the company knew how to clean their own product. I wasn't asking for replacement, and I didn't think I was being unreasonable asking for someone to come out and take a look at the stains, but no one would take the time to do something so simple. We bought silestone counters for our kitchen in April 2010. This past April (2016), we discovered a crack in one of the counters. We contacted the place from which the silestone was distributed, European Quarry Imports in Salem, NH. After repeated phone calls, they finally sent someone to look at the cracked counter, who determined that it was installed correctly. At this point, I was told that they had never seen something like this happen and that a representative from the manufacturer, the Cosentino Group, would contact me. It's now June, and I haven't heard from anyone! In the meantime, this lengthy delay has brought the work that we're having done to the kitchen to a complete stand still! And then I find out that the 25-year warranty that I was told about doesn't even cover the crack. read more
