I sooooo appreciate that there are healthier and/or plant-based options popping up in cities and…read moretowns all across Maine. We knew we'd be hiking all day (and had a heavy dinner planned) so we stopped at Earth and Flow to pick up some lighter bites. This was around 10am on a Thursday, and we were the only customers. It took about 45 minutes to get our food (no other customers ever came in; it didn't appear they were making any to-go orders). There were two employees that day, one who was making our order and one who was on her phone. We got: 1. Tara's Peanut Butter Heaven smoothie (banana, peanut butter, chocolate, almond milk) and the Tropical Storm smoothie (mango, pineapple, strawberry, orange juice, coconut milk, almond milk): I don't know how this is possible - maybe they were made in the same blender? - but these tasted identical. They were also liquidy. Personally, I prefer my smoothies so thick it's hard to suck through a straw. 2. the Thai wrap (almond-ginger pate, lettuce, mango, red pepper, cabbage, basil, mint, cilantro, ginger almond dipping sauce): this was okay - there was *a lot* of mint stems - but the ginger almond dipping sauce tasted purely of soy sauce - way, way too salty for me. 3. the Sun Tuna wrap (tuna salad made from sunflower seeds, not fish, combined with lemon, Bragg's amino acids, celery, pickles, and romaine lettuce): my favorite of the three! Such a unique take on a vegan tuna, but the celery was literally long uncut stalks. 4. the Sante Fe wrap (cashews, lemon, parsley, cayenne pepper, vegan mayonnaise, black beans and avocado): my partner's favorite of the three, but I found it bland, also there was no avocado and LOTS of romaine... which isn't an ingredient in this wrap. ^ I appreciated that all three wraps came on a bed of lettuce, because the wrap itself was *so* stiff and gummy in texture that we ended up dumping the interior onto the greens and eating it salad style. 5. Earthy Delights (4 Medjool dates stuffed with almond butter, cardamom, and ginger): the BEST thing we got were these stuffed dates. The combination of the rich almond butter, earthy cardamom, and spicy ginger were unlike anything I've had in recent memory. Do not miss out on these! For me, this missed the mark. But it's fantastic that an option like this exists in Rockland.

Will never listen to a blog again. Clearly the blogger must have been friends with the owner because there's no way anyone in their right mind would recommend this place. We stopped by at 9 am on Saturday, 6/20/26. There was no line when we got there; immediately after, the line got super long, but moved quickly. The staff weren't too friendly. We got vanilla lattes ($6.75 + 90¢ for vanilla) which had 0 vanilla flavor. I got a quiche ($8.50 for a measly slice!! A crime!!). Quiche of the day was broccoli, cheddar, and onion. It was the literal worst quiche of my entire life. My husband got the yogurt + granola + honey ($7.95 + $1 for banana), which was fine, because it's pretty hard to mess up a parfait. $32 total (!!) for the worst breakfast ever. The rating is ridiculously inflated for this place. Wish we never had gone. Overinflated reviews, overinflated prices, underwhelming coffee and food.

The view was nice once our table was cleaned, and the service was friendly and attentive overall. The reason for three stars is really the food. Nothing was terrible, but unfortunately, nothing was very good either. As a longtime restaurant owner, what stood out to me was the lack of attention to detail and the overall quality and quantity of the proteins and ingredients. I have no problem paying $15 for a simple sandwich if it's executed well. But little things add up: a tiny bag of chips, a very small pickle portion, minimal meat, minimal kraut, minimal sauce. It felt like every possible quarter was being shaved off the plate. I understand how difficult it is to make money in restaurants right now, but at some point the guest notices. I ordered the hot Reuben. It really wasn't hot, the bread wasn't crisp, the cheese wasn't properly melted, and the meat quality was fairly lackluster. There simply wasn't much meat, kraut, or sauce to make it feel like a satisfying Reuben. My wife ordered the chicken, artichoke and pesto sandwich. Again, the execution was the issue. The pesto wasn't spread evenly from edge to edge, the cheese wasn't melted, the sandwich wasn't particularly hot, and there were only a couple small pieces of artichoke. That's probably what disappointed me most. These are relatively simple sandwiches, and simple food can be fantastic when the basics are done correctly: crisp the bread, melt the cheese, distribute the condiments evenly, use enough filling, and cut and plate the sandwich with a little care. Those small details make a huge difference. We also had two non-alcoholic beers at $8 each. That isn't outrageous, especially in a tourist area with a view, but $16 for two cans of NA beer still feels like it's pushing the upper end of reasonable. The service was good, the staff was friendly, and the upstairs view was enjoyable. I just wish the same level of care had gone into the sandwiches. I don't write reviews every time I'm disappointed, but after owning a restaurant and responding personally to customer reviews for more than 12 years, I tend to notice these things. Hopefully this is taken as constructive feedback, because the fundamentals here are very fixable.
