While visiting friends in Cushing, we needed to make ourselves scarce for a few hours while workmen installed a new fireplace. We opted to settle in at Flipside, a warm and cozy coffee house that offers delectable eats as well as free WiFi. Coffee is their signature beverage, and they also have a great selection of tea if that's more your style. Gluten free? No worries, they offer GF bread, so you can try one of their tasty sandwiches at either breakfast or lunch. I can personally vouch for their take on the Cuban sandwich, as well as the sausage and egg. The atmosphere is conducive to getting work done, or quietly reading, or just hanging out and people-watching in downtown Thomaston. read more

What a fun and interesting find in downtown Thomaston! This modern and local coffee shop features great coffees as well as breakfast and lunch options. The seasonal menu included pumpkin, French toast, and apple spice lattes during my visit in addition to the usual menu of espressos, americanos and lattes. The staff was kind and cheerful and efficient in the way you want your coffee to be served. There's a help yourself table with sugars and creamers, etc as well as water and napkins off to the side to allow you to have it your way and expedite the line. The interior was an interesting mix of the original bank hardwood floor and vault with local artists featured on the walls including watercolors, yarn arts, and more. The tables varied and featured nice no frills, mismatched sets so you can find your perfect location to enjoy a cup of coffee, login to their WiFi or share a conversation with a friend or kids. Breakfast choices were nice with options to add what you wanted. Music was great low key coffee shop music that lingered in the background for ambiance but wasn't overpowering. What a terrific little, local spot! Can't say enough about the wonderful bagel sandwiches we had (went back twice so far during our stay). The eggs were perfectly cooked -- not hard and dry as often happens with sandwiches -- the bagels were toasted to perfection. Totally YUM! Staff are cheerful and kind. My Husband & I found this gem for coffee & breakfast a week ago. I'm obsessed now with both. My 1st sip of our Americano sent us back for more a few days later. The smooth taste was so yummy! Believe me, there's a correct way to make a perfect Americano & they do it. We're just sad we don't live close enough (yet) but working on that. And the young friendly Barista with the BEAUTIFUL singing voice was an extra treat! I honestly wish for that coffee now every morning. We were on a random road trip in the area and craving coffee when we found Flipside in the downtown area of Thomaston. They had a great menu with some funky sounding breakfast and lunch sandwiches but we were just there for the coffee (definitely will try a sandwich on the next visit). I ordered a honey ambrosia latte and it was so delicious. Perfectly made with a nice, strong honey flavor. I also loved that they were selling pottery and other items from neighboring businesses. I got a real sense of community browsing the store and it made me want to visit the other shops (which were unfortunately closed on a Sunday). Great service and a nice menu - I'd be there all the time if I lived nearby and hope to stop in again soon! read more

After seeing that Flipside had excellent reviews, I thought I would stop on in! I got a delicious cold brew and (to my surprise) a vegan yogurt bowl. Everything was very fresh tasting and delicious. The main street, that it is located on, is very quaint and my husband and walked along it with our coffees checking out the area. A very small, cute town and a good coffee experience! read more

IMMACULATE VIBES MAN 1 star for for the confusion walking in, not sure if I was entering a bank or a realtor agency ...? 4 stars for the friendly service dude, we ordered like 8 drinks and the guy was very chill about it. He passed the vibe check fo sho. We also got to play a sick game of dominos while we waited to be served our coffee. OH AND THE COFFEE WAS SO FREAKING GOOD. Tasted better than Dutch bro trash we have at home. 10/10 would definitely recommend, the vibes were out of this world read more

Super nice staff, great food and great coffee and tea. They have sandwiches, smoothies, and some pastries and treats. Also very safe in regard to CoVid and social distancing. Their brownie is probably the greatest brownie I've ever had. And I've eaten a lot of brownies. It's the PERFECT mix of chocolate with a hint of salt. I like it cold so stick it in the fridge for a bit. It's also easier to eat that way. read more
