I had a whole house fan installed by The Whole House Fan Company out of Fresno. After about seven years the wireless wall switch went out. Called the company to do a repair and they were not really excited to come up from Fresno to replace the switch. At least that was the vibe I got from the woman who I spoke with. Right away I was not happy with their customer service. I checked Yelp and saw Cosmic Comfort installed whole house fans. I called and the woman who assisted me was upbeat and positive that they could fix my problem. I scheduled an appointment and Adam came out. Nice kid. Climbed in the attic and confirmed that the unit was good and needed a new switch. I decided to get a hard-wired switch and an appointment was scheduled. One thing I really liked was the communication through text messages. They also send you a photo of the technician that is responding to your house. I appreciated that and it makes good business sense. Issac and Freddie came out a few days later and completed the project. They were professional and the installation looked good. Isaac tested the switch and showed me how to use it. He had a tablet and processed my credit card through it. Easy peasy. Let's face it, electrical work is not cheap, but I felt it was a reasonable price especially considering my wife would stop reminding me that we needed to get it fixed before summer! The tech who came to do the quote was supposed to be at my house between two and four. The company texted me at 3:30 to tell me he was running late; by the time he got to my house it was 4 PM. He was a very pleasant young man. Definitely respectful of the property, but in having him give me a quote, the methods at which they said they were gonna get power was just weird. They wanted to go through my fire extinguisher in my hallway instead of using the electrical receptacles that were already in my walk-in closet. It was quite odd to be honest. And then on top of that, the quote they gave me with asinine. Over $800 to put in one receptacle? This wasn't a complicated case. When he saw me balking at the price, he said well, we also do heating and cooling so if you want to sign up for $299 a year, we can give you 15% off the receptacle. I almost laughed. How ridiculous was that - trying to upsell me even more? Not only that, but according to this boy, they would probably have to cut through my drywall and have a patch job. I didn't realize it was a full company; otherwise, I would have not even contacted them. They were great at following up for the business, but not at the price at which they were quoting me. I found a contracted, licensed electrician who did it for me quickly and for less than half of what they were quoting me, and did impeccable work. read more

BEWARE SCAMMERS Description of complaint:I called to get my new a/c bolted down. Andrew said it would be 89.00. I clarified with Andrew that it would be with checking my A/c and he said yes. Cosmic comfort came to my house and the repair man refused to bolt the A/C down and told me it need s 4000 of repair the same price they had changed me for a new system I had declined earlier. The system he looked at is my own installation I just needed it checked and bolted down. The repair man asked for 89 I refused, I said Andrew said that was for the bolt, now you're telling me you can't bolt without me giving 4000? He said that's correct. I told him goodbye. 5 min later a lady who was angry called me black mailing me saying if I didn't pay the money the city would not pass my system and yelling threatening me as though she had city connections and I didn't have the right to say no. Turns out the coolant was off was the only problem. Company's like this that set money traps shouldn't be in business. read more

Had Cosmic Confort installed a new A/C system on 6/15/2023. Since then, the system had problems every year in summer. Last year they found the problem in the initial installation and tried to fix them. Their explanation was that the system was installed by a contractor who nolonger with them, they are new owner/management. As of today, they found the circuit board needs to be replaced charging over $700. I check the online that the circuit board lifetime is usually between 10 and 15 years. read more

I am extremely disappointed and shocked by the recent estimate performed on my A/C unit. In almost 20 years of owning this system, not once including with certified Bryant professionals has anyone ever drilled into the return. Your technician's decision to do so is completely unacceptable and shows a serious lack of knowledge or training. We clearly showed him the exact location of the fan motor. Despite that, he was distracted texting on his phone throughout the visit and proceeded to drill into the unit without giving any explanation or asking for consent. I contacted Don on a Monday, explained what I needed done, and he was there the very next day. (So appreciative for that because it was an ASAP job) He was there when he said he was going to be there and when first looking at the project, recognized and knew exactly what needed to be done. It is good to have multiple estimates as there is a reason this company is called cosmic as their estimate is certainly astronomical and out of this world! Joel j. quoted 14-15k for air duct replacement. Even with "first responder discounts" and additional discount if we sign the contract at that moment, their prices are way higher than other estimates we were given. Their quote did not even breakdown what materials are going to be used for the project just whole total figures presented on an iPad. Did not receive any email for copy even after several text requests. Ended up going with a different bigger company for 9k less. Please get multiple quotes and use someone else!!! read more

I had this company come out to fix an electrical issue they charge 225$ for "trouble shooting" 299$ for their membership which covers 3-4 appointments/inspections/maintenance I went with the membership to inspect hvac/ service it they gave me a list of problems from a leak to exhaust valve issue to need more than half the ducts replaced and provided photos. I got a second opinion! They LIED no holes in the ducts no leaks. They showed me fake pictures to gouge me of money. My ducts are still new and hvac still in great condition. So whatever you do don't use this company go elsewhere!!! read more

I had this company come out about six weeks ago. I found cosmic comfort on the Internet . The technicians were very very sweet and friendly. They didn't charge me a service call or anything to come out. They did what they did and they totally told me I needed a whole new unit which was gonna cost 12,000 on my double wide mobile home. I decided to call another company and get a second opinion. So they came out looked it over and they found something electrical wrong with it I forgot what was wrong with that but anyway they charge me under 400 and it got fixed the same day... So whatever cosmic comfort didn't do this other place did do and it didn't cost me $12,000 to get a new unit. I am a single female and people certainly will take advantage of you that's why it's always good to get a second opinion and I'm glad I did cause I saved almost $12,000 by having somebody else come out who was super nice and they got the job done without taking advantage of me so kudos to Rose Central air and heating.. it was well worth under $400 to get it fixed and looked at.. i'm so happy with getting my air fixed and not having to get a new unit That would've cost me $12,000. So if you're looking at getting the job done well at a reasonable price and not having to spend over $12,000 have Rose central air and heating come out and look at your unit. Cosmic Comfort has done two good size jobs for me this summer. With both jobs, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Two months ago they installed a Whole House Fan in my primary residence. They were extremely efficient from "quote" to "completion". This was job #1. Then two months later I get a call from the tenant of a rental property that was having an issue with the AC. That was on Monday. Their tech came out that afternoon. Long story short, the unit needed to be replaced. Turns out they had the right size unit in stock and was installed that Friday, and both myself and my tenant are very satisfied. Kudos to supervisor Brandon and office staff Brook & Joanne. Great experience with this company. I've wanted a whole house fan for a long time, but most of them were too big to fit in our hallway. I came across Jantz in an advertisement for whole house fans and they came out for a estimate. The type of fan they use fits hangs off the rafters in the attic and not directly above the ceiling so it is a smaller grille in your ceiling and is more quiet also. The rep came out and gave us a estimate and they were available that same day, but I scheduled it a week later. Best electricians I've ever had. Todd and Doug were exceptionally skilled, careful, and respectful of our home. They managed to install new light fixtures without having to rip up the walls for switches by fishing down lines through the attic to existing outlet-control switches. They worked incredibly fast, but methodically. They do not do anything half-right, they do it 100% right. They also cleaned up after themselves very nicely. I ended up hiring Jantz to do a few different jobs around my aging house. They upgraded my main panel from 110v to 220v, installed a whole house fan and a new outlet. Throughout the entire process they maintained excellent communication. They were somewhat flexible with pricing and were willing to talk about ways that jobs could be done cheaper, while still maintaining all code and safety standards. Their pricing in general was on-par or slightly lower than most of the other electricians in the area who I got quotes on for the panel upgrade. They did an excellent job finishing on time and cleaning up after themselves (despite rain interrupting the panel job).
