About eight months ago I had a new comp roof installed on my home along with a new 3 ton HVAC unit installed on the roof to replace an older one. And now I am getting big cracks in the sheet rock ceiling of the master bedroom about where the new HVAC unit sits. I had the man that owns the HVAC company come out and go up in the attic and see if he could see what the problem is. He said that he didn't see what was causing the cracks and that the install of the unit was right. Then I had a contractor come out and look in the attic and he said that the HVAC unit was sitting on three trusses and that all of them are bowed and this is what is causing the sheet rock to crack, He said that the unit should of been supported at the three trusses. The new HVAC unit weighs 481 Lb.the old unit was a two ton and built in the mid 70's so I am thinking it was much lighter.The HVAC contractor called me yesterday after I sent him an Email and told him what my contractor said about the installation, He said that he is going to have a contractor that he knows come out and look at the unit, And if it is a bad installation he will fix the problem and make everything right. Anybody else ever have this problem.? PS the HVAC contractor I use is one of the best in this town. Adam and the owner of Wake Construction showed up to see if they could find out what is causing the sheet rock to crack in the master bedroom, They went up in the antic and where there for about 30 minutes, when they came down the owner of Wake Construction said that he was stumped and that the A/C unit was installed properly and then they started looking at the house foundation thinking that it could be the problem, Me I just think that they where trying to lead me away from the A/C unit being the problem. It's funny this problem started after they installed the unit. Because Adam and the owner of Wake Constructions are friends it's a little hard for me to take there word for it. They said that they where going to run this problem by an Structural Engineer that Wake Construction uses on there homes. We are waiting to see just what he has to say. I have since had three contractors out to check the installation of the HVAC unit and all three said that it wasn't installed right and that they should of framed the new unit at the roof line and that they should of supported the three trusses that the unit sets on and I wouldn't of had this problem, Then I decided to check with the City inspectors and see if I could get a copy of the Inspectors report for the installation of my HVAC unit, The lady on the other end of the phone said that they didn't get a permit and wanted to know if I wanted it inspected, I told her yes to send out an inspector, A few days later the inspector showed up and he also said that the unit wasn't installed right and that the return for the unit was also to small not letting my unit to run as efficient as it should. So now the ball is back in Holl's court. I haven't called him yet I am waiting till after the holidays. I called Adam Holl's office and left a message for him to call me about this problem, He never called me back, I called again left a message and he never called again, I sent him an E-mail and he never responded to it , So I sent him another E-mail and told him that he had until January 15, 2014 to let me know just what he was going to do and that if I didn't hear from him by then I would move forward getting this thing repaired and paying out of my own pocket and then taking them to court to get my money back with interest, I am also getting in touch with the CA. State Contractors Licence board an filing a complaint with them. read more

I would like to thank Antonio Soto from Bob Holl Heating & Air, for coming out this morning to fix our AC unit. Our AC unit went out last Saturday after detecting a burning odor coming from the vents. Soon after our Unit did not produce any air. This couldn't have happen at a worse time considering the week of record breaking heat on top of being a holiday 3 day weekend. We immediately called our home warranty company to get this handled. They were not able to send a provider out until Tuesday. The provider showed up, got on the roof top, looked the unit over, and stated, "I don't service these units, parts are to hard to get, you have to go all the to San Jose to get replacement parts" The unit was an American Standard made by Trane according to the Technician. This forced me to call my home warranty company back to obtain a new provider. 1 hour wait time to speak with someone. Was told we will get this dispatched right away. 4 hours later no word so another 1 hour wait call back. Finally received the name of new provider. Called left message. Wednesday morning still no word, I called provider. Provider is closed due to Covid won't be doing any service for a week. Called back home warranty, another 1 hour wait time. need another provider. Was given the name of a third provider, call them and was told Tuesday at the earliest to come out and see the problem. Called warranty back another 1 hour wait time. explained I can't wait until next Tuesday. Went a couple of rounds with them until they finally authorized me to find a provider out of contract to service my unit. I did some research and was provided with some recommendations. Finally I was given a five star rating from a friend who recommended Holl Sheet Metal Heating & Air. I called them Wednesday evening and explained my situation. They immediately put me on schedule as soon as they could, Friday between 5 to 7 am. The technician arrived promptly at 5:30 am and by 7 am my ac was blowing cold air, cleaned, and filled with Freon. The technician was able to determine the problem within minutes and in no time had the Unit up and running in no time. It makes a difference when you get a company that actually knows what they are doing to show up to your home. Words can not express the appreciation my wife and I have for your company and Antonio. I used this company a few years ago and they replaced my ancient AC unit at a fantastic price (the best around, I know, I called). My unit has been working great ever since. I recently used them this week for some routine maintenance needs. I was the first call of the day and their tech was 15 minutes early. Unknown to me at the time, I dropped $5 from my purse when I walked up to my driveway to unlock the door. The tech saw me drop the money, picked it up and brought it to me. He could have kept it and I would have never known. However, he was very honest and that is the type of person I want to let into my home. Anyways, he did great work, explained everything, and answered all of my questions. I asked him if he could show me how to change the filter and he did so no problem. I wanted to write this review because people are always quick to say something negative, but when they are happy they rarely go out of their way to write a positive review. I am renovating a house and had an air conditioning unit on the second story roof that had not been used in over 30 years. I called Holl and their technician, Jose Rodriguez, was sent to the home for evaluation . This gentleman was very professional! He endured wasp nests, ancient air conditioning parts and a customer (me) that asked a million questions. Jose not only got the unit running, he returned the next day with a new thermostat for the unit! I am extremely pleased with the patience, professionalism and level of expertise of the Holl staff, and I highly recommend them for air conditioning troubleshooting and repair! Great service. I called Monday morning and they were able to send a technician out the same day. I moved into a new house and the heater did not work. It ended up being a crossed wire on my thermostat. The technician, Craig, was very polite and professional, he had the problem fixed in no time. Craig signed me up for the Gold plan which includes servicing my HVAC system twice a year, spring and fall.
