We didn't need everything to come with fries, so I think it would have been nice to have a cheaper sandwich only option. I loved that I could order ahead on the app and then it texted me when it was ready so we could sit for a little while and not wait in the long line. A bit cosmic, mostly convenient. As a quick mobile option Cosmic Ray's is highly accessible in Tomorrowland with a straightforward, kid friendly menu. The setting itself is nice and walking in seems to still be possible as it's meant to be a fast dining option in the park. We mobile ordered about 40 minutes out which is very helpful as you can plan things out in advance and pickup was very quick, you just showed and click you're nearby on the app and they have it out in about 5 min or less. There's also a water refill station in here if you need to get hydrated although it is veeeerrrryyyyy slow to fill your bottle up. We ordered the truffle-french onion burger with fries and their hand dipped fried chicken sandwich with a mandarin. The burger was, well, something. It wasn't bad but it certainly wasn't good, but what can you expect at Disney? It was very soggy and messily put together, not very appetizing at all to look at. The fries were much better than the burger though! As for the chicken sandwich it was much the same. The chicken looked bland but tasted average, nothing really to write home about. Grabbed a quick bite early during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Ordered the patty melt, which comes with plant based cheddar cheese, grilled onions and asteroid sauce on Texas toast. I think there used to be a singing alien in the corner or something, but now it's just a building with seats. Which is fine. It does its job. Service was pretty ok, too. Friendly faces at the registers, friendly folks handing you your order, taking requests on asking for extra veggies trays. No issues with service at all. As for the good, I was surprised with how good it was. Of course it was overpriced, but it wasn't as overpriced as other spots on Disney property. I think way too many families of 4+ slide in and out of this place for the prices to be too high. I ordered the Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich (Crispy Chicken Breast, Pickle Slaw, and Spicy Aïoli on a Brioche Bun served with French Fries). Nice, soft bun. Large, crispy chicken patty. Shoestring fries with unlimited amounts of ketchup. I was pretty pleased. Cosmic Ray's has a menu consisting mostly of stereotypical American theme park food, and is organized into three bays with one of them specifically designated to pick up your order when made through the Disney World app. The menu at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café consists mostly of stereotypical American theme park food, and is separated into categories including Entrées, Plant Based, Sides, Kid's Meals, Desserts, Speciality Beverages, Beverages, and their various allergy-free menu entrées. Since their menu was rather straight-forward and simple I ordered their Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich, which featured a deep-fried crispy Chicken Breast topped with Pickle Slaw and Spicy Aïoli served on a Brioche Bun served with French Fries. To drink, since their beverages at this location were all fountain drinks, I ordered their Lunar Lemonade, which was a combination of Minute Maid Lemonade with Desert Pear Syrup served over ice. Once the food was ready for pickup, we received a text via the app indicating which "bay" to go to, a system I have to give Disney credit for. It's well-organized and streamlines the entire process of ordering, payment, and distribution. Another big plus at Cosmic Ray's is the toppings bar, which lets you customize your burger and make it substantially larger than the average burger at Walt Disney World. By adding extra lettuce, tomatoes, and red onions, you can enhance what's already a solid meal, which is definitely a highlight for any value-conscious diner. In itself, my chicken sandwich at Cosmic Ray's is nothing special. It's not awful, it's just nothing to write home about. My total bill came out to just over $20--which, in Disney dollars, is quite reasonable. After a full day in the park, getting a filling meal at an affordable price point was a refreshing change of pace. That said, it's worth noting that my drink was nearly half the cost of my chicken sandwich, and unfortunately, the overly sweet flavor didn't justify the price. I do wish Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café leaned more into themed dining and that the culinary team that they employ put a little bit more effort into the meal, something as simple as toasting the bun would've made a real difference. What makes Cosmic Ray's stand out, though, is its most delightfully odd and uniquely present-day Walt Disney World character, who goes by the random name of "Sonny Eclipse". Since I got a burger that came with fries I got the kids apple slices. Together they shared one kids chicken tender meal with double apple slices. They actually ate a couple apple slices so it was worth getting for me. Especially since mine came with a lot of fries. The burger was pretty good. My husband got the chicken sandwich and we discovered my younger son loves bacon. It came with a random sauce on it, that my husband had to scrape off, so just a heads up if you have basic taste like my husband does. This time it was pretty quick for our food to be ready and no line at mobile order for pick up, but the park was also very empty on this day. Pretty unique in that it is a sit down establishment that has the more traditional quick eat/concession type foods with some decent options. The inside also features a cool animatronic music show that features a character named Sonny eclipse who is like a talk show host/lounge singer. Fun and cute little show that takes maybe 20-30 min to sit through and stays on repeat. Like all Disney eateries they are overpriced. Although this isn't the fine dining $50 a plate type eateries so it is a more affordable setup. You walk up to a concession area and place your order. They prepare your food then you take it to a register and pay. After that you are free to dine by Sonny eclipse or in a few other normal sit down type rooms. In the past here we have stuck with the classic pizzas, chicken tenders and burgers which taste the same at all places located inside all 4 of the major Disney world theme parks. My last visit I got a chili cheese dog and it was a different option then I've seen. It was massive actually! Kinda a pleasant surprise. The hot dog wasn't the greatest tasting.
