I've had gel sets from here before, fills, and I just got back from my first manicure (no chip) and pedicure here. They now have a woman who works there named Stacy who speaks perfect English and is very, very friendly. Don't get me wrong, though, all of the people here speak English and are well spoken. I mention this because I know this is a concern to some people when trying to find places to get their nails done. I had a deluxe type of pedicure where they exfoliated, pumiced, and dipped my feet in hot wax. I also got a no chip manicure directly after. All of this together cost $65. The price is a little high compared to some other places, but I've also been to cheaper places and was extremely disappointed. Everyone who works there is very nice and even the men who work there are perfectionists. I also paid close attention to how they cleaned the foot baths and watched as each employee took fresh tools out of sealed packages for each guest. I tend to bring in pictures of what I want and I recommend anyone else do the same, but I am sure they'll give you results you want. The only reason I'm not giving them five stars is because of the price (the cost of fills are almost as much as a full set!).

Look at the photo -- it explains everything. The service felt rushed and poorly done, and the…read moreoverall vibe was far from relaxing. My fingers were actually bleeding from the filing, which made me decide not to go through with the pedicure because I didn't want them anywhere near my toes. Very disappointed with this experience. I'll definitely be sticking with Chic Nails & Spa in Valpo from now on. You can send them a photo on Facebook of what you want, and they absolutely nail it every time! Only tried someplace new because my friend was going but never again!

Not a good place to go if you're not one of their regulars and if you want good quality. I asked…read morefor a Gel Fill In and a Bubble Pedicure. My total ended up being over $100 for those two parts which is not what their website advertise. The nail tech who did my nails was rushing because she wanted to get to her regular client, and because of this the color isn't the one I picked, she drilled my natural nail when i asked to keep the length and some of my nails are crooked. When I would bring something like the shape up she kinda yelled at me for not noticing before i washed my hands after the filing. During my pedicure the lady next to me got their express pedicure which is supposed to be shorter than the bubble pedicure, but somehow she finished after me? I was told i had no calluses to shave off which is so wrong, and I asked for no olive oil at the end because it messes up my sandal, but she put it on anyway. Overall I have been here before and last year they were great, so i thought my last visit 4 weeks ago was just a one off bad time but today's experience really sealed the deal that their quality has gone way down. I will be finding a new nail place because this was unacceptable.

She found them all, including the ones in my calves and my arms that most people kinda gloss over. It was a fully deep tissue massage, so I did not go in to feel good as much as did to feel BETTER, and this filled the bill. She found all those places that needed tending. She knows her stuff, the pressure was perfect, and I could move much easier after the session. Best yet, her prices are more than reasonable, and for someone who probably needs more than one a month (ugh probably more like once a week), this is everything I could ask for. I will definitely be going back. P.S. Finding the place is little strange. When you turn onto (south) Marsh Street, you will pass the Family Express on your right (red/pink roof) and there will be Ore street turning right. The building you want is the same building that houses Culture Shock but it's on the rear side (west) of the building. Turn on Ore Street and then turn left into the parking lot for the rear of the building and you will see the sign for Sandy's Tanning and Nail Salon on the left. If you miss the turn you can hit Southpoint Circle and turn into the back lot that way. Once you know where it is, it seems easy, but GPS failed me the first time, and I was wandering around further south near Terry's Discount Windows and More like an idiot for a few minutes wondering if the business moved. It's there, I swear!
