It's NY style pizza and yes, it's a little greasier, it's supposed to be. It's not gross like Pizza Hut or Dominoes, but don't expect Pizzeria Locale. If you want foodie pizza Boulder has many great choices. But for NY style regular old pizza, it's Cosmo's. The staff are always super friendly and the pizza is consistently good as well as being a great value. Pre-pandemic my youngest liked to eat in sometimes to "watch the college students." The staff were always so nice to him. These days it's delivery for us. Wait times are usually overestimated and the pizza always arrives fresh and hot. I've never had an order go wrong. read more

The pizza was good, our order was ready on time based on their estimate, and the staff was friendly to me. My wife and I got a pizza with pepperoni, ham, olives, and mushrooms which was good. I also got a calzone which was bigger then expected, so we ended up with more then we could eat. I liked the spicy ranch for dipping. I have been wanting to support local pizza businesses and googled any near me. Boss Lady Pizza closed recently dominos is decent but the delivery fee costs as much as my pizza. So I've ordered here a few times. Bonus is no delivery fee. Only took a star off for two reasons. One being received cold pizza a few times, do the drivers have pizza hot bags? Or do they not make bags big enough to house the large sized pizza boxes? I don't have a functional oven at my place and don't use microwave so having cold food is a bit annoying. Especially when the restaurant is a mile from me and I grab my pizza immediately after delivery. Secondly and this may be a plus to some but the crust is lackluster. Thin, I appreciate. But there's seemingly no seasoning, oil , butter, just very dry flavorless crust. The sauce is nice and never overwhelming (I order a normal amount of sauce which is very light ). WONDERFUL PIZZA! I'm an Italian from NYC, so I know good pizza. What I'm not is a pizza snob. I like neighborhood pizza joints with good pizza, friendly service, and reasonable prices. Cosmo's fits the bill on all counts. At most pizza places I order two slices; at Cosmo's that's more than I can eat comfortably. Here, my wife and I split three slices. I called for delivery and ordered a gluten free cheese pizza. I then I had to wait an hour for the pizza. After finally getting the pizza I realize it's not gluten free so I call to express my concern because I have celiac and cannot eat gluten. He then says that the man that took my order swears that I didn't order gluten free. I have had celiac for almost my entire life I would never not order gluten free and my friend literally was sitting next to me while I ordered and heard me place the order, and specifically request "gluten free". The fact that they assume I would incorrectly place my own order is absurd to me. Then they make me pay the difference and are making me return the previous pizza they delivered. Great pizza, but don't get delivery... I ordered delivery and was told I would have to wait the usual 45-60 min for delivery. An hour and a half later, no pizza. I call back and after waiting on hold for like a minute I'm told that the delivery guy says he delivered the pizza. Very sad to write a bad review about my favorite pizza place in the world. Last Sunday, on the last stretch of an 8-hour drive back home from a trip, we called Cosmo's before 6:30pm for takeout so we could pick it up and enjoy it at home after a long drive and watch the presedential debate at 7. We were told it would be ready in 25 minutes, and we arrived exactly 25 minutes later. When I paid for my order, I was told they would call my name when it's ready. I don't think the girl who took my payment communicated to anyone that we were there for our pickup. After waiting ten minutes for a pizza that should have been ready, a young girl who seemed to be the most in-charge asked us what we were waiting for. We told her my name and order and she rushed around trying to find the pizza. Apparently unable to find it, she didn't communicate with us about the status/whereabouts of our pizza. We kept waiting. Another ten minutes went by and we went back up front to check on our pizza again and a young guy asked us the same question. He then found it, apparently it had been sitting there since before we arrived. At this point we had been waiting for twenty minutes for a pizza that had been ready the whole time yet was mysteriously missing. He told us it was "still fresh" and my boyfriend said "it's been sitting there for twenty minutes, it's not fresh." He repeated "still fresh" and opened the box to show us the pizza for some reason. No apology, no comped pizza, no offer to remake or make us happy or tell the manager, nothing. Poor customer service. We were hungry and just wanted to get out of there. The pizza was of course beyond cold and my boyfriend was disgusted with the quality, said it was worse than Pizza Hut. Horrible customer service. Bunch of young kids who lack experience and training and are unable to deal with a problem and unable to communicate. It really all could have been prevented if the first girl had let someone (but who?) know that we had arrived for her order. It could have been made better if the second girl had followed-up when she tried to find our order. It could have been okay if we had been offered an apology and a coupon to give us a reason to return. But to allow us to leave with a cold pizza?? Bad service made for bad pizza, and I know my boyfriend will never want to go back. Shame. It was my favorite pizza place. read more

As a native of NJ I have had my fill of what I know as true, authentic pizza and Cosmo's does a good job. For my taste the dough could be a cooked longer, but otherwise they offer a fine version with plentiful portions. Would I ever swap my Nick & Joe's back home for it? We ordered a huge pizza from Cosmos last night, and never again! First, the kid who took our order seemed too stoned to understand the words coming out of our mouths. My friend asked if they had garlic bread (they don't) to which he replied, "You want a side of ranch?" "What? No, no dressing. Garlic bread!" "You want garlic on the side?" "No, listen: Do you make garlic bread, you know, bread with butter and garlic and cheese on it?" "You want garlic on your pizza?" At that point, we weren't sure what we would be getting, but they said it would take 30-45 minutes to get to us. Thankfully we decided to make some garlic bread ourselves while we waited. And waited, and waited... Over an hour went by and we finally decided to call. The guy who answered apologized, said they were swamped but our pizza was out for delivery and would be there in a few minutes. Fourty-five minutes later, still no pizza! So we called again. Again, the guy apologized and said it was only a few minutes out. My friend pointed out that forty-five is not "a few" and we'd already waited almost two hours. The manager came on and said the driver would give us a significant discount. Just over two hours after we placed our order, the doorbell rang. The driver asked for his ~$40 and we told him that his manager said he'd give us a discount. He offered to take $3.50 off the price for us. What the Hell sort of significant discount is that??? Annoyed, he called his manager, who offered us 50% off. Hungry and frustrated, we accepted our cold, soggy pizza. Nothing about our experience was acceptable. If you're so busy that it's going to take over 2 hours to deliver, be honest about it. And don't send the pizza for an hour car ride in 20 degree weather! Yes, we were up in far North Boulder and would understand if it had taken an hour and arrived warm, but two hours and cold is not okay. The roads were dry, no snow falling, so no excuse there. And if for some reason, God forbid, it does take you over two hours to deliver a pathetic, soggy pizza, offering less than 10% off is pathetic. Even 50% off isn't good enough, in my opinion: At that point, the pizza is basically worthless and charging us anything leads me to believe that they don't care about our business. Fine. I ordered a pizza and a large salad. When it was delivered they guy gives me the reciept to sign and then gives me the pizza. Then as an aftertought he tells me he forgot the salad and he starts to rummage through his pockets and gives me literally a crumpled up wad of ones. I asked him if He forgets half my order does that leave me just of of luck? He looked me straight in the eye and said yes. If I wanted the rest of my order that I would have to call and order a new one. So I called the pizza place and they semmed to think that the delivery guy handled it wrong so they sent him back with the salad. My newly moved friends from Chicago who now live here say that Cosmos is the best they've had in Boulder. While I can't comment on that, I can truly say that this place would be run-of-the-mill in Chicago. I know, I am a total pizza snob. But hey, I speak the truth here. It took over an hour to recieve after calling, and the place was only a couple miles from my friend's place...A bit long of a wait, but I'll cut a little slack considering the stoplights in Boulder TAKE FOREVER to change!!!! OK so it's kind of like a NY style pie, not crispy cracker thin and certainly no where near our beloved Chicago pies. My biggest issue with Cosmos, I am a sausage pizza kind of guy. I ordered the supreme. All the other ingredients were fresh and tasty (hence the 3 star rating). However, the sausage was funky, almost like a sliced Italian or Polish sausage. Just not my thing. I've had a million other kinds of sausage on my pizza in the past, but Cosmos sausage was just odd. I still ate pizza, but I had to take off the sausage. If this is the best za in Boulder, I will stick to burgers, wings or just load up on pineapple upside down pancakes and burritos at Snooze!!! read more

What a great customer service experience I had at this Cosmo's recently--very much worth writing about! My son was working late and sent me over to buy him a slice of pizza late one night. Since I'm over 40 :o) and don't seem to look like I have a lot of money, restaurant workers sometimes aren't especially nice to me. Appearances can be deceiving:: I am a 20% + tipper always, and treat restaurant workers with respect. The customer service here that night really impressed me. The person who took my order was excellent, and when they forgot about one of the pizza slices that I ordered (to go), he threw in an extra slice free, even though I didn't complain and the order took only about 5 minutes. That was so considerate! And the pizza was absolutely delicious, too! Reasonable prices, generous portions, good pizza--what more could a pizza lover ask for? read more

To begin, this is my favorite pizza place in Boulder. (Admittedly I have not tried Beau Jo's or Abo's, yet...) My son loves the "Meat Lovers Specialty Calzone", and the first time we ordered I thought it was going to be size just for him... Well it is a large pizza crust stuffed with all the goodness you could ever want folded over and sealed. The only possible negative (for some people) is the sealed edge can be pretty big, I am talking 3 inches around of just pizza dough, hand rolled. I love pizza dough crust so I'm in heaven. But some may not agree. There are still plenty of meats, cheese and sauce inside to make it quite a meal. I adore the "White pizza" it has olive oil, fresh garlic, basil, and sun dried tomatoes. Yummy! 5 Stars in my book. The "Greek Veggie" was good, but I think the feta was old, it made my stomach upset. So, I am not very inclined to try it again. *NOTE: I always order the Medium because it is 14" and will feed at least 3 people. If you want to see a LARGE pizza and feed 7-10 people order the large 24"! The box they walk in with is off the hook, lol! And will probably not fit in your refrigerator. Also, on a side note* they have "Franks hot Sauce" which I get with my orders every time. * The delivery usually takes 1 hour to one and a half hours. So plan ahead. Or pick it up in 20 minutes. * The order takers are hard of hearing because it is so loud in the restaurant. So expect to have to speak up. read more

If you don't, like me, you might witness the cashier take your money, give you change, and then make your salad without washing her money grabbers. DO NOT ORDER ON THE APP. First of all, they charged us an extra 2.72 in cash for spicy ranch. That's pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Then, waited about an hour and 15 minutes for our pizza when it was not supposed to take that long. Cosmo's is the best pizza in Boulder! They have different kinds of pizzas and fun unusual flavors like mac and cheese pizza! The slices are huge ... seriously like gigantic and you can buy by the slice for pretty cheap which is great for college students! The spicy ranch is addictive and you can't not have it with your pizza! They sell it by the jar so you'll definitely have enough! Not quite 7-11 pizza but pretty damn close. Greasy and mushy are how I describe this odd pizza. It's soft crust is definitely weird for a Chicago native. In fact all my friends here from the east coast and all my friends who have visited me from Chicago ask "Wheres a pizza place? What's Cosmos." I dont want to take them there because the pizza only good if your drunk and the one by Williams Village is usually overflowing with drunk freshmen. The pizza is super inconsistent. Some days is greasy mush, sometimes it's overlooked. Rarely is it on point. Cosmos is getting three stars because tonight it was a ok. Delivery- is slow as piss and you'll get near cold pizza. Online ordering took a little getting used to, but once I was able to figure it out it was easy. As far as the delivery, it was just a little late. I had to call, but I wasn't really upset cause it ended up arriving basically as I was on the phone with Cosmo's. The pizza was good. The high notes are: excellent NY style pizza, warm, friendly, attentive and considerate service, wonderful ambiance, and a great place to relax while on vacation. The detailed version is, I was an extremely difficult customer. I had a wildly particular request -- I was feeling adventurous and wanted to try anchovies on pizza, and asked what toppings they would recommend to go with it (Spinach, sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, and feta cheese, which was utterly glorious). I also took up an entire booth by myself, stayed long after I finished eating working on my computer, spilled soda all over my table, and asked for particulars on how the public transit system here in Boulder worked. Cosmos has traditional New York Pizza with a real high-altitude doughy taste to it. They definitely use fresher ingredients for their sauce. This store location is bigger and a lot more family-friendly. The staff makes the pizza pretty much right in front of you, so it's cool to just watch while you wait, and it just smells great in there! Connection wasn't very good and guy on the phone put us on hold, but he just set the phone down and yelled "oh my god these people are so stupid" picked up the phone about 5 minutes later and we told him we were in the parking lot and we could just order inside if that was easier. He yelled at us and told us we were trying to get our order in before all of the other people who had already ordered. Not sure what that means, we were just trying to put in order in and whenever we get it we would get it. He was clearly having a bad day, and they were busy and not sure why he felt like we were trying do something other than order our food, and then proceeded to scream at us. One arrived very COLD, another had sparse ingredient even though I paid extra and asked for 3x Mushroom To their credit, I called to inform them at least they offered to make me another one(I declined the offer.
