Coming back to send my love to my favorite sub place…read more I've sadly moved to a different part of town so Fatboy's is no longer a few blocks away. I still try to stop by every few months as this place holds a special place in my heart. A no frills spot. Solid and consistent. To the point but friendly customer service. Fantastic drink, chip and snack selection. Sandwiches are always bomb asf. The hot momma and BLT loaded up is my favorite. My husband still loves their Ruben (it is his favorite place to get it.) You get a small potato or macaroni salad on the side with a pickle (perfect crunch.) I personally think it's a great little add on. Their chili is also simple but delicious. I personally think their chili pairs perfectly with any of their sandwiches. It's not a heavy thick chili. Which is why I think it pairs so well. I won't lie it's a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. It's loaded up and good quality. I never feel gross or overly bloated after eating here. I will be coming back to Fatboy's until I move out of San Diego or die. lol. One of my favorite gems in SD. Always will be worth the drive or walk. Thank you for always delivering even years later.

If you love Italian food, the grocery section at Mona Lisa is like being a kid in a candy…read morestore...except the candy has been replaced with pasta, olive oil, cookies, and enough imported goodies to make you question how much room you have left in your pantry. We wandered through every aisle and had the best time discovering products you just don't see at your average grocery store. From authentic pastas and sauces to chocolates, cookies, and specialty ingredients, there was something new around every corner. The deli case is equally impressive, filled with meats and cheeses that would take any charcuterie board from "nice" to "where did you get all of this?" The store isn't large, but every inch is packed with something worth looking at. It's the kind of place where you go in for one item and somehow leave with a bag full of things you never knew you needed. If you're spending time in Little Italy, don't just visit the deli--take a few extra minutes to explore the market. Just be prepared for the toughest decision of the day: figuring out what not to buy.

The ambiance was also very nice! Reminds me of a vintage Italian shop! But the food was very lackluster. The chicken piccata tasted like lemon soup with noodles! Really sour! It was to the point my teeth were hurting. We ordered the tiramisu and and Alfredo which were okay! We also got the Italian soda which was good! The side salad and soup were just there nothing special! All of that came out to $90 because of the tip! Also the other servers there are very obnoxious! They are literally screaming across the restaurant! It really ruined the mood of the restaurant!

We don't use much anymore, but I couldn't quite place it not really spicy just there. they use the standard jalapeños for spice, which I would think a specialty shop like this would've had you know spicy peppers. looks like it would be a good place if you had a party to have a little area for you guests. Going in if it's your first time might be a little confusing because there's a tacos shop right there and that looks like where you would go in Giorgino's door is a solid gray that you would think would be like a back door or maybe an old school speakeasy so it's blink and end up in the taco shop. For one person, I was shy of $30 I guess I would've expected more in the way of the actual food either more flavor it would be more sandwich. More fries, more flare in the actual dish.

Every employee we interacted with was incredibly sweet and welcoming each time. This review is mainly for our Sunday breakfast experience. Cloud 9 is more than just your typical deli. They have a pretty large menu with breakfast, hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, wraps, salads, flatbreads, soups, smoothies plus cold-pressed juices. We got the Monte Cristo ($14.99), which comes with Boar's Head oven-roasted ham, Havarti cheese, mustard and mayo on egg-battered white bread. It's pan-fried then finished with powdered sugar. Service was quick. Once we got the sandwich, we were DEVOURING it. Such a good Monte Cristo. They were super generous with the ham. The havarti was perfectly melted, giving you that cheesy pull with every bite. The bread was toasted perfectly with nice crisp edges while still staying soft inside. Add that little sweetness from the powdered sugar. What more could you want from a Monte Cristo? It also comes with some maple syrup and fruit on the side.
