First off, the customer service was absolutely amazing. I was kind of waiting a long time for my egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, and I think the manager or maybe one of the owners was just so cool and was like explain to me why I was taking long and was very apologetic and ended up, giving me an extra potato salad and a slice of their cake as thank you. Which he did not have to do in which I did not ask for. But he was just so kind and nice about it. Now onto the breakfast sandwich, it was absolute fire. It was so delicious. It was a soft brioche bun with fluffy eggs and definitely hit the spot. I would go here again in a heartbeat. We loved the filet mignon club and Cobb salad we got here. The filet mignon in the sandwich was cooked perfectly tender and the ciabatta was soft but with a slight chew. 12/26/2025 Hubby and I were looking for a light dinner of soup or salad as we drove into San Diego in the current rain storm. We bypassed Panera and found this deli. This quaint corner little deli had indoor and outdoor seating. The employee/owner? Was so friendly welcoming us in and making sure we were comfortable to ask any questions about the menu items. Our soup and salad went out the window when we saw the "Low Carb Plate". We chose the steak option (+$4) and had broccoli and asparagus as our two vegetables. Then I chose clam chowder as our side. Hubby grabbed a pasta salad from the fridge but it was okay. Nothing as impressive as our dinner. The steak was tender, seasoned and cooked well. The asparagus and broccoli were grilled just as my hubby likes it. The clam chowder was creamy and had good flavor. There were pieces of clam, potato, and celery in each spoonful...until I ate them all. There were so many options for dinner aside from sandwiches, salads, and wraps. We thought we were going to grab a slice of cake for dessert, but we were actually full and didn't get one. Maybe we'll stop by another time this weekend. But don't sleep on this place! I've had pleasant experiences here except for today. They use Toast for online orders. I placed an order at 6:31 pm for a Chipotle Chicken Wrap and a Chopped Cheese Sandwich. I arrived around 6:35 pm and sat outside while I waited for my order which was estimated to be ready by 6:45 pm . They seemed pretty busy and I had just placed the order less than 5 minutes ago so I sat outside while I waited for the pick up text and alert from Toast which I've always gotten. 6:50 pm came and nothing....No big deal, again, they seemed busy and the app still showed "preparing your order" and I had not gotten a text either. Around 7:00 pm one of the workers was handing out an order to a gentleman sitting next to me and asked me if I was waiting for an order and I said "yes, an online order" and asked for my name and said she would go check and never came back. By then, the small rush had cleared out. There was no one in line, I know because I was going to order a drink and peeked in but decided not to and figured it wouldn't be long before my order would be ready. At 7:10 I walked in and waited and asked how much longer because it's still showing "preparing your order" and showed her the app. I even refreshed it in front of them. She asked for my name again and my order had been sitting there since 6:46 pm. Why ask for my name and tell me you're checking on it and disappear? Can't tell me it wasn't ready since it had been sitting there since 6:46 pm apparently. To top it off. They got the order wrong. The app asks you to select the sauce you want in your wrap. I chose Chipotle Sauce and Garlic Aioli and No jalapeños. The wrap had no Chipotle Sauce and no Garlic Aioli. They put plain mayonnaise which I didn't ask for. They got the no Jalapeño's part right though. I normally wouldn't care about this but this is what my pregnant wife was craving and she taught it was plain and had no flavor. I'll be fair and give them some grace for technology not always working properly and not updating my order status or sending me the text when my order is ready but asking for my name and telling me you're checking on an order that had apparently been sitting there for 15 minutes and still providing me the wrong order is where I have to draw the line. I hate being the annoying customer that places an order and walks in 2 minutes later checking in to pick it up but apparently you have to do this and make sure they do it properly. *Update* The text confirmation came in at 8:23 pm. When we got there, there was a decent line, but it turns out that was just people waiting around for their order. You order on the left-side of the counter and the right-side is for pick-up (but they'll come and find you once your food is ready). It was a Padres game day so we had to wait over 20+minutes. The Godfather is their hot version of an Italian sandwich and it was really good! The toasted bread had a nice crunch and I really enjoyed the chunks of parmesan as it added a boost of more flavor. The italian dressing and meats were all great. The Filet Mignon club was also really tasty! The ciabatta was nice and soft and the meat was tender and flavorful. With various ballads playing over their sound system including Air Supply, you can help but feel relaxed while you await your order. While the place was mostly empty there seemed to be a steady flow of pick up and delivery orders being cranked out. So waiting in an empty restaurant, looks can be deceiving. For food, I order a chicken caesar salad wrap and a container of potato salad. The potato salad is definitely not made from scratch, well, if it is it's an awful recipe. It reminded me of the cheap store bought kind (you know, the stuff that coworker you dont like would bring to a company pot luck) with a harsh chemical after taste. My caesar wrap looked great! The exterior was slightly brown from a quick grill. Unfortunately its good looks gave way to dry fillings. The salad had next to no dressing and the chicken, while warm, tasted old. Bacon fell into the same category as the chicken, dry and off tasting, like it has been in the fridge for a few days. The upside of all of this, their pickles are delicious.
