I scheduled an appointment online with Cost Cutters for a highlight with foils. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told that the stylist was not able to do highlights with foils--something that should have been made clear when I booked. Instead of accommodating me that day, they rescheduled me with another stylist for two days later. Then, on the morning of my rescheduled appointment, I received a call saying that my service was canceled again. At this point, I had wasted my time twice and still didn't get my hair done. The lack of professionalism and organization was incredibly frustrating. If you're looking for a reliable salon, I'd suggest going elsewhere. read more

I took my girls in yesterday for a haircut. I requested both girls have shoulder length hair. One girls haircut is definitely ABOVE the shoulder more like collarbone area. It's short!!! my other daughters haircut is super choppy and uneven in the back. it looks bad. Extremely disappointed. Luckily they're little and it does not faze them but I won't be coming back to this location. Also another thing I asked that they blow dry her hair and the stylist said "oh we can't we have a lot of customers waiting" when in reality she had to wash her co workers hair out DURING work hours. Heather is my go to! I've seen her about 3x since I moved here, and she's been friendly every time. Great energy and does wonders with my hair, because every trim is left just as I asked not too much and just what I need to remove my dead ends. I have noticed that every time she has cut my hair my hair has grown faster. He was engaging, professional, and performed the cut exactly as I asked and my hair looks amazing and feels so much better than before I went in. Liz, thank you for your response and I did get a cut a day later and happy with haircut, hence I keep coming back. However, today similar issue, called and spoke to Lee, I asked about availability, she asked how long before I can arrive, I told her 10 minutes and scheduled the appointment for 1:30; I showed up within that time, the other hair cut specialist came up and told me there were more people already scheduled and pointed at customers waiting in chairs, I can see them as well and this time had an appointment for 1:30 only to be told I could be seen at 2. I call as I also have a job and need to plan my time this takes away 30 minutes from my time. Then a 2nd person comes and first person tells 2nd that she doesn't know why I was scheduled and 2nd person asked if I can wait until 2 pm. Told her no, have to return to work. She said next time if I can call so I don't have to wait - that is a slap in my face. Again, nothing personal but someone needs to own this issue and resolve. read more

I have been coming here for 6 years, and I always get the same cut: a 5 or 6 on top, and a 4 on the sides. A few days ago I had a truly horrible experience with Natalia (one of the stylists) who completely disregarded my notes and gave me what can only be described as a buzz cut. To make matters worse, she was extremely rude and condescending. However, after writing a scathing review, the manager contacted me expressing total remorse for what happened and asked what she could do to help. She also told me there would be consequences for the stylist. I received a full refund in the mail, a handwritten letter, and a 3-pack of discounted $11 haircuts. Despite my experience here last week, I greatly appreciate the manager's kind gesture. The stylist turnover here is usually pretty rapid so I don't expect to see Natalia again. Overall, this place has good value but I still won't trust any stylist to have read my notes before getting a haircut. read more

This was my first time going to Cost Cutters. The staff were nice but the quality of my haircut was severely lacking. I have long hair and asked for a 3" trim straight across, no layers or anything and after leaving, I realized that the right side of my hair is at least 1" longer than the left. It's extremely noticeable and I'm going to have to get it redone. My boyfriend also got his hair trimmed and it looks extremely choppy. The hair on the back of his neck is not even, there are some parts that are an inch longer than others. Do not recommend at all. read more

Don't use their appointment scheduler. Booked an appointment 4 days in advance. A half an hour before appointment Cost Cutters canceled via email. Then I booked a 2nd appointment 3 days in advance. Called store to confirm the 2nd appointment 40 minutes before scheduled appointment time. Store unable to cut my hair at appointment time. Why have a scheduler online if they can't keep their appointments? Find someplace else to have your haircut. read more

Today was my first visit to Cost Cutters since mid-March. Obviously my need was great and I was very pleased with the service from Sabrina and the precautions that are being taken at the salon for patrons and staff. I learned that Cost Cutters is operating with appointments only and they must be made for the same day as the call is made. Meaning that since today is Tuesday, I needed to make an appointment for today only. I was happy that I was able to get an appointment for today. My wait was just long enough to pick up lunch nearby. My stylist, Sabrina, knew what to do with very few suggestions. I plan to remember to call ahead on the same day that I need an appointment and I will certainly request Sabrina if she is not fully booked up for the day. read more

This was a last minute decision to pop in since Guy Trendz was closed today. I asked for cut with the top long and sides cut with a 2. I don't normally hover after giving a stylist instructions so I sat down. I wish I hadn't. Minutes later I look up and see the stylist giving him a full buzz cut. I couldn't believe my eyes. I asked my husband to go take a closer look and see how bad it looked up close. His eyes said it all. I walked over and at that moment the stylist was saying our son "would have been better off with a cut that left longer hair on top because of his cowlick." Unfortunately I couldn't agree more but she didn't deliver! My issue is even if you KNEW a buzz cut would look bad on a kid with a forehead cowlick, why not give your pro opinion or rather warn a parent before going thru it?! I KNOW my son's head isn't suitable to have a super short style on top which is why I asked for length. I brought him home and had to finish the fade on his temple, remove that crooked hairline on his forehead, clean up his neck, ears and also run the 2" sheers all over to catch the scraggly pieces still on his head. Never again. My kid was in tears until I fixed it this evening. I'm just thankful it isn't a picture day tomorrow. read more

A very nice experience, probably one of the best visits to a "hair removal" place I have had. Brea listened to my instructions, told me what was going to be done and more importantly, seemed very interested in me and what was going in in my life. I've been coming here for a little over a year now. Been to all the fancy spendy salons, (o.k. not all but a few. Stumbled upon Lisa B. Very experienced stylist ladies. Had own shop at one time, rented chairs out etc. etc. Why is she here. More flexible hour wise, doesn't want to spend all her time as you pretty much have to when renting your chair out. She has established a high C. of people as I almost always have to make an appointment to see her. One day I just walked in at 11;a.m. she was doing a color, and had other appointments, not available till 4:00. Point is she's dang good. Yes it's less money as well, but my point is I'd pay more if I could get the results that I get with Lisa. Please other hair stylists don't get into a tizzy. Took my 22 year old grand son who had quite long hair. He wanted it shaped up and his long bangs trimmed some. OMG i could not stop laughing. The left side of his bangs were about 1 inch long, the other side about 6 ". The left side of his hair is straight while the right side looks like a 70s shag. You definitely get what you pay for at this location. They advertise a "call-ahead" number to avoid waiting, which just results in huge waits on busy days anyway. I see no advantage to calling ahead. After calling ahead and being told that I would be able to be seen at 6:45, when I showed up, I was told that they were a little backed up. Strange, this seems to be the case *every time* I called ahead. You would think they would be able to estimate times a little better. But, I was told only two people were ahead of me, and with 4 stylists working, this seemed like no big deal to wait. After waiting 15 minutes, and having 5 other names called ahead of mine, clearly someone was lying. The place was packed with other people, who knows how long it would be. I've had to wait up to an hour beyond what I was initially told to come in in the past. If you can catch them at a non-busy time, you will get an average haircut with nothing fancy. But avoid "Customer Appreciation Day", unless you love waiting forever and being lied to. I won't be back. read more

After a serious hair mishap and growing out my messed up bangs for the last six months, my grandparents who I am staying with over the summer referred me to Crystal, who had been cutting their hair for the past couple months. I have tried all different types of hair salons and have even made the dumb mistake of paying $65 at a high end salon for a big chop off. Every time I come here I have had a different person, and every time I am just as happy. Hard to find in places like this. The people and quality is high for a $14 hair cut. This is the most inept and disorganized hair salons I've ever seen I have made an appointment TWO days in a row for a partial highlight and yesterday they said no one was there to do it. What? Why ? So. Giving them another chance I made an appointment for today at 430. I don't have a car, I'm disabled. I don't get around easily. So it's a big deal to get somewhere. I just left there. They said I didn't show up for my appointment at 3. Um, excuse me? They then made it feel like it was somehow my fault and kept repeating to to each other she didn't show up at 3 like I was standing right in front of them. I took my 9 year old to get a trim here yesterday and now wish I wouldn't have. She got her hair butchered there! Its almost as if the lady cutting it had never cut hair before or this was her first time cutting. I'm not sure of her name but she is the heavy set white lady with very short hair. While she was cutting I noticed that she was cutting so much off, it was uneven, choppy, and I was cringing. I just prayed that she had a method to her madness. By this time it was too late. She finished and it looked so crazy that she then had to have her manager( nice Hispanic lady) come over and recut her entire head. But this time my daughters hair was so much shorter than we wanted. It's not pretty. It's all choppy and doesn't look good now. I hope nobody ever has to go through this again. This should have been a simple straightforward trim with some layers. Not hard! read more

This is my second post in reference to Cost Cutters at this location. Today I took my son with Cerebral Palsy here to get a hair cut at around 4:15. The lady at the counter explained that it would be 10 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes, me and my son being the only ones waiting when we got there. One lady took a gentleman that just got there (maybe he had an appointment,maybe not). The other lady called out a random guys name who wasn't there and then told a lady who had came in right after us that she was next. These ladies I do believe discriminated against my son. He is capable of walking, sitting still, and letting them know exactly how he wants it cut, but they intentionally ignored him. The main problem is that we were sitting where they could clearly see us and the lady knew she said 10 minutes, so unless they loss their memory it was no mistake. I cannot give negative numbers on here, but would love to. read more

I thought she had done a good job but as I was walking away I overheard her telling a lady sitting and waiting on her that she messed my haircut up on purpose by leaving a longer piece in the back where I wouldn't be able to see it.
