Cost Less Auto Parts is absolutely fantastic! The size of the store is huge, as is their selection (probably twice the size of a typical AutoZone). True to their name, prices are very low as well. COVID-19 protocol signage is very large, clear, conspicuous, and unambiguous. On my visit, they had lots of quart-sized bottles of ethanol-based hand sanitizer in stock for $9.99, which seems like quite a bargain. Staff is extremely helpful, professional, and friendly. I called ahead to check stock on an item, and they verified one in stock and were kind enough to hold it for me. This location has a huge parking lot and is very easy to get to. My boyfriend had went there and bought a gasket and they had sold him the wrong one. I went back and exchanged it, WENT ALL THE WAY HOME, just to have my boyfriend tell me that they GAVE ME THE EXACT SAME ONE THAT I JUST WENT TO EXCHANGE. I wish I could figure this place out. For the life of me I cannot decide whether I like this auto parts store or not. Now that comes from a 25+-year former auto parts counterman, so if I am perplexed by this place I wonder what the layman feels about it. Although, on the flip side, as an experienced auto parts person maybe I am over-thinking Cost Less Auto Parts? They do usually cost less; they have auto parts... could it be that two-dimensional? Of late I am noticing the store shelves seem to be housing less and less product. Case in point, I went in the other day to find some new battery hold down parts, j-hooks and a crossbar for the top of the battery. All they had were 10" and 12" j-hooks, which fit a lot of cars but if I used them and slammed the hood down I would have two new dimples in my hood... two inch dimples! The oil was under stocked and the headlight section was sparse. Two explanations, either they are saving money on inventory or they don't have enough staff to sort and place the days stock order. Which brings us to the staff. The cashiers are always just the nicest people here. The counter-people range in demeanor from "deer in the headlights rookie" to truly helpful to something like a Harry Potter chasing Dementor from Azkaban Prison, it just gets cold and unhappy around them. That is the trap of making auto parts a career choice, you get jaded, really jaded, and it is hard to hide it after a while. As a wise man once told me, "People just suck, John." Largely they have the resources to get you what you need quickly, just trust that the new guys know when to ask the grizzled veterans for help when they get in over their head. I wish I could impart some sage council to you, the Yelp Masses about Cost Less Auto Parts, but like most auto parts stores it is entirely dependent on the time and the alignment of the planets as to what kind of price or service you will get. However, if I were hard pressed to give you a definitive judgment I would say you could do a whole lot worse than Cost Less Auto Parts. Just remember, if you get a unhappy dementor counterman point your wand, stand firmly and say, "Expecto Patronum"! read more

I had no clue where the dipstick is on my car is well it is because it is hidden under the motor he showed me on a video. I went to the kelso store in need of a water pump for my explorer u gave them the info they sold me the wrong pump my plan was to put the pump on when the week end came as I realized the pump was wrong I took it back with the receipt. They refused to exchange the part because I did not have the box which I placed in the recycle bin during the week . So, I was looking for some parts... This is how the story goes, and I'm sticking to it. I needed to fix my car, I am NOT a mechanic, but alas I had to fix my car, and couldn't afford one of those mechanic thing-a-majiggers. So, I shopped around at your typical places like, napa, or shucks.. Those places told me that I needed an alternator and would need a good mechanic to install. My father-in-law said that I should try this place for the part, and then maybe take their recommendation on a local mechanic. The part at Napa was $190, the part at Cost Less was $90. And they explained that I should get a Haines manual, and a could of sockets. With some patients I was able to replace my own alternator. I've been there several times now, their service is pretty much awesome! Helped me finding headlights, then telling me how to install them correctly. I have been coming here off and on for a few years now. Glad I found the place too as their prices are usually kick ass. Rarely do I get great service these days. I assume it's just the way we are raiding our kids. I was extremely overwhelmed with the FANTASTIC I had received today! Jenn was lucky enough to say "next" when it was my turn. I had ordered some parts and they called the night before to let me know they were in. Jenn had trouble finding them at first. But she will not be defeated! The worst return policy I have ever experienced and customer service. We bought a battery this morning and decided to return it in a few hours. We got denied of a refund because it was "installed" already in the car. I should have bought the battery at Costco or even at Walmart and would have been no issue returning it. Darlene in amazing and I hope I am remembering the name right. I go to this and the hazel dell location. This is my home location and I couldn't be more proud to share why. She went above and beyond and every time she saw me she answered my question. She told me don't leave the parking lot until your part is fixed. I came in thinking I needed a head gasket goop lol to temporarily fix what I thought was going to be a very expensive fix. But she let me know right away if I use that then don't ever plan on a replacement. I was so thankful for her after 45 dollars at two locations and her time and knowledge plus 3 hours later our car is fixed and it was only a 3 dollar part. Needless to say I definitely owe her lunch. The Hazel Dell Costless Store I must admit, I was rather skeptical about purchasing auto parts from a retail shop. I usually spend hours on the internet, price hunting, before buying anything. Most of the time, my efforts are rewarded with savings. However, after going to Costless to buy; 5 quarts of oil, an oil filter, a thermostat gasket, and a Power Steering Belt, I am changing my purchasing routine. I spent only $23.54 for everything! Plus, "Wayne", a helpful and friendly employee, took less than 15 minutes to ready my order. I was in and out in 16 minutes! I cannot say enough about how great my experience at Costless was. About a week ago my my husband had gone to the Kelso, WA location for some parts (mind you we live in Saint Helens, Or) he was told that he would have to call or go into the Orchards location for the part because it had to be ordered. I wasn't very happy about that because they are one company with different locations. So he came home.
