CARR Vancouver Buick GMC - 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 - Auto Repair Near Me - Vancouver, Washington

The vehicle in question is NEW, and recently purchased, 5 months prior. It was the dealer demo model of a 2025 Buick Envision (Made in Yantai, China, by the way.) When I bought the vehicle, I was promised all but the "moon and the stars," nicely illustrated by a red, white & blue "BUMPER-to-BUMPER WARRANTY" logo, spread across the windshield. (Pictures Attached.) As the demo vehicle, it already had 5,000 miles on it, and we were assured by Matt (Finance Guy; "The Hammer," in the back room) that our sale would be treated as a "new vehicle sale," and that the same warranty would apply, with the exception of "regularly scheduled maintenance." We knew oil change time was approaching, so we tried to schedule an appointment on the Buick App, just to learn that we were unable to get an appointment until mid--January. Therefore, we visited a local, independent oil change facility, where we learned that we were sold a vehicle with [relatively] no oil, AND with visible signs of leakage below the oil pan. (Pictures Attached) That Saturday night, we returned to the Dealership to complain. We were greeted by Cody Halsey (the Sales Manager with the dog,) and reassured us that HE HIMSELF would contact Chuck Bryan (Service Manager) ASAP, and that we were to call him first thing Monday morning. Supposedly, he would be expecting our call. After multiple attempts at trying to get someone to answer the phone, we drove over, met Stephen Poulsen (Assistant Service Manager,) just to learn that nobody knew ANYTHING. Additionally, he informed us that he did not have the time to properly examine the vehicle, and instructed us to come back the following Tuesday, for a proper oil change. In the meantime, however, he topped-off the vehicle with 2.5 Quarts of oil... on a NEW CAR! We returned as instructed, on 11/18/2025. A proper oil change was performed, and we are given a spreadsheet log, on which to document "oil consumption," after which, the data is compared to what GM publishes as "normal oil consumption." (Again, Pictures Attached) NOW, here is where it gets ridiculous. My fiance' is an aviation mechanic and precision machinist. My son is a GM dealer mechanic in the Greater-Phoenix-Area. It requires NEITHER of them to recognize the stupidity of the following statement made by T.J. Timmins (the Quick Service Advisor.) When questioned regarding "GM's acceptable rate of oil consumption," he replied with: "...with these new engines, tolerances are looser, allowing for more lubricant to get in between the moving parts, and therefore, differing quantities of oil can be consumed." Was he HIGH? THEN... after PAYING for that oil change, we PAID for an alignment, which should have been unnecessary. In order to justify that alignment by the way, Mr. Timmins issued the additional statement: "...and here in the Pacific Northwest, many roads are higher in the center for water runoff, and therefore, such situations have a tendency to throw-off vehicle alignment more quickly." Perhaps the message was not received by the Service Department (as seems to be the norm.) THIS IS A NEW CAR. IT WAS THE DEALER DEMO. BUMPER-TO-BUMPER WARRANTY. *** NEW CAR *** We are upset, and do not take kindly to being treated like idiots. LYING to us is NOT a valid form of customer service. You and your staff should truly be ashamed. It is important to notice how employers of these big dealerships treat their employees. How they treat them is a clear reflection on how they intend to treat YOU, the CUSTOMER. The way Stephen Poulsen (Assistant Service Manager) treats T.J. Timmins (Quick Service Advisor) clearly mirrored the treatment we received. God be with you all. If you can, RUN!!!! read more

If I could give CARR Vancouver Buick GMC negative five stars, I absolutely would. The sales team is a masterclass in incompetence, indifference, and complete disregard for customer time. The last week of July 2025, I met with Stew to place an order for a 2026 Yukon AT4. We reviewed every detail of my build. Stew then told me that no one at the dealership could submit custom orders yet and that order windows "probably wouldn't open until around October." I trusted him. That was my first mistake. I repeatedly asked him to check other dealerships for the configuration I wanted. Instead of receiving updates, I found myself chasing him down like a bill collector, constantly asking for status that he never had. I was even sending HIM inventory listings from other dealers, only to discover he was mysteriously "unavailable" every time. Fast-forward to November 2025. I finally do my own research and learn that custom orders WERE open in August -- meaning Stew could have placed my order within a week of meeting with him. The delay? 100% on him. So I contact Stew. Surprise: he's suddenly taking time off. So I speak with Rich, who couldn't have cared less if I walked away, stayed, or burst into flames in the parking lot. When I explained how unacceptable it was to learn that my order was never submitted and that no dealer locates were being done, Rich literally hung up on me. I called back to speak to a manager and reached Cody, who was somehow even worse. When I asked why Rich hung up on me, Cody's response was: "He didn't like your tone." That's the level of professionalism here. If your tone does not consist of groveling, apologizing, and thanking them for wasting your time, they simply disengage. Customer service is nonexistent. Accountability is nonexistent. Communication is nonexistent. In an era where businesses are supposedly struggling to retain customers, CARR Vancouver is operating like they have a waiting list of people begging to be disrespected. They do not value your time, your money, your business, or basic human courtesy. If you're considering buying from here, do yourself a favor: Pick literally any other dealership. Drive to Portland. Carr has the worst service, we have had multiple calls about rescheduling due to double booking appointments. Hope you don't have to deal with Steven, he is the worst about calling and updating anyone. We dropped our car off at 9am to get a phone call at 4:30pm stating that they hadn't even looked at the vehicle. By far the worst experience when it comes to service. Beaverton Cadillac ended up REPLACING my screen that kept going out so my review still stands I just haven't had time to update. I took my car to them shortly after Vancouver Cadillac told me there was "nothing they can do" and after a day of Beaverton Cadillac having my car they updated me saying they would replace it. Apparently they have more attentive employees and specialists or equipment so why even bother with Vancouver. They fixed it free of charge, but Vancouver Cadillac expected me to drive around with a broken brand new car forever even though my car is fully under warranty (only a year old at the time) ‍‍. Bought an end of model year 2020 GMC Yukon XL Denali 2 years ago. Very deep discounts from factory and dealer. Rich, the sales guy was very patient. Carr's free 10 year 100K mile drivetrain warranty is a great bonus and makes the bumper 2 bumper warranty cost much less. Bought a 2020 GMC Sierra Denali used truck, Jonathan the sales guy was very helpful! I did an inspection and at that point everything was good, no scratches or dents. While I was signing the documents to the car, the employees took it for a wash. It was already dark outside so I didn't inspect it again, however next morning I when I checked it out there where visible scratches on the roof of the car that weren't there before they took it in for a wash. When on the second day I came back and asked them to fix it, I was told that they aren't responsible for the car because I bought it used. For context I payed $83,000 for the truck while a new one costs $81,000. I was under the impression that the dealership is responsible for the quality of cars they sell to their loyal customers, if the car quality has been in some way compromised by their own employees I don't understand how they can be disreputable enough to conceal it and then refuse service. I personally take offense to the unpleasant conversation I had with the manager discussing this issue, he was blatantly rude and invidious. If this issue isn't resolved in a diplomatic way, i will hand this issue over to my attorney. read more

Gave him some parameters of what the wife was looking for by way of bells and whistles, style of vehicle and even a couple of models for him to search for. Second vehicle wife looked at she loved. Indeed ..... wife is back in a Buick and we're back to the dealership we've always been treated great in days gone by. Yesterday I call from the DMV to try and get the plates off my trade in. Late afternoon "someone" who did not identify themselves calls asking if I want the plates or the plate numbers. After REPEATEDLY being asked and repeatedly giving the same answer, person was extremely rude. Yes folks, it seemed he couldn't understand the words "the plates" and got frustrated. And yes, as I sat there in a business meeting with this guy on speaker phone, even my audience couldn't believe what they were hearing. Good job Carr. I've spent over $70k in the last two or three months in your dealership. And that's my welcome home. Ugggh. Quoted me $120 to change an air filter in my car. Are they building the air filter from scratch in the shop?

Lets start by saying the process of buying the vehicle was fast and easy but thats where anything good stops. When purchasing a brand new vehicle I mentioned that I would like clear top panels instead of black. They put it into a "we owe" for about 4 grand extra cost. I have driven down to the dealership 4 times and everytime they have told me they have showed up, they have been defective. The last time they showed up without weather stripping and handles. When asked wtf is this they told me if I wanted handles and weatherstripping without pulling it off my existing panels. I was sent an invoice for $800. Because my "we owe" didn't state "complete panels". Definitely warning anyone even looking at a car here to do your research or make sure the deal is spelled out as you could easily be conned into a partial deal. At this point it's either pay the ransom money to get the completed parts I expected when buying the carr or going to small claims court, which at this rate might be the right thing to do. read more

This is the second vehicle I have purchased from a Carr dealership in the past year. Both transactions were great! My most recent purchase was last week at the Buick dealership. I didn't know exactly what I was looking for, so asked if I could sit in and drive a few different makes and models. Julian was my sales rep and he was awesome. Very low key, super patient and informative. I thought I wanted new. If anyone is shopping for a car, you know how hard it is to find any car, let alone a new one. After walking me through the various makes and models, Julian told me he had a used car I might want to look at. I was a little wary, but since Julian had the keys, I decided it wouldn't hurt to take a look. It was EXACTLY what I was looking for. The car was pristine! I was able to negotiate a deal that worked for me and the Carr team was happy to help. The amazing thing is there is no dealer "regional markup" that the Hannah dealerships and others are charging due to vehicle shortages. There was no high pressure sales and I only worked with one guy...no tag teaming with two and three people dashing off to "talk to my manager". Yesterday I got a phone call from Julian to see how things were going and to offer any assistance. I needed some help figuring out all of the features. So, Julian invited me back and he took care of all the adjustments I needed. Just a really smooth transaction. Not a cadillac dealership anymore. 8 years ago got swindled by a salesman there. Had issues w the service dept because they didn't understand the manufacturer warranty benefits and tried to make me pay for something covered. I complained to cadillac Corp and then the dealership wouldn't service my vehicle anymore. Just games. Thought I'd give them one more chance and this time went in to buy a car and they offered me half of what my trade was worth. Treated us like they had the upper hand in the deal. THEN the best part is they ran our credit without our permission. We hadn't even agreed on a price of the car! So they would have done a hard inquiry on our credit for nothing. Lol our credit is frozen so that stopped them. They wanted my trade for nothing and wouldn't come down a penny on the price of their overpriced car. We walked out. AND I found the same car but better and bought it in Spokane. Sold my trade for double what they wanted to give me. Went to Carr to look at a New GMC Yukon Denali. We were half way through a lease on an Acura MDX Technology Package (horrible car, terrible technology) and we had a Nissan Titan to Trade in (Awesome Truck) The Denali selection was outstanding we found one we wanted and met with Bob. I knew prior to going in what the payoff for the lease was, I knew what the Titan was worth and had an estimated payment in mind. After choosing a Denali (Wife's Car BTW) so after a choice was made. Bob took us to the sales office, He took all of our information and within a few minutes Justin came out to talk with us. You know this process, always expect the worst. So I bought a vehicle from this deal about a year ago. That experience was fine. Since it was brand new I was set on keeping the maintenance in the dealer's shop. Well... In order to get my car in the shop I literally have to take the day off work. Their technicians leave by 5pm so they can't take anything beyond an oil change after 4. They are not open on the weekend so any person with a regular job just gets dicked. I would rather go to a dishonest mechanic that will overcharge me than this craphole that won't even schedule me. read more

Customer BEWARE. They don't do what they say. Came in air bag recall and lube oil filter, and a Safety check tire rotation. Well not one grease fitting was lubed. Tires were not rotated. They lost the lock for my wheels or forgot to put it back After they did not rotate the tires? I'm not sure they did anything. If the oil filter didn't look new I would wonder if they even changed the oil. This is one dealer I will not be back to Wonder why dealers have poor reputation simple just check at Carr. I purchased a '18 Tundra from this location about 2 weeks ago. I've waited a week to post this review to see if Carr would do anything to remedy the fact that they lied about the truck I bought online, and was supposed to get a call back last Friday. All their online marketing for the truck stated it was Platinum trim. We agreed upon a price and I purchased it, easy enough as I had been looking for 2 months and knew exactly what I wanted. On my drive home I realized it was not what they said it was. It was the Limited trim. There is a $7K MSRP difference between the trims new, I understand this is not a new truck, but I bring this up because the difference was downplayed multiple times while trying to get Carr to fix their deceptiveness. So they lied about the level of the vehicle, and when I brought this up, the only option Cody gave me was to unwind the deal. Since there was no dialogue, no real solution, and no option given, I threw out oil changes as something to at least start up the communication to find a happy medium. On the phone I was told they couldn't refund any money since the deal was done, Cody then informs me they can give me 4 free oil changes, of course I would have to drive from Beaverton to Vancouver to get them. OR they could cut me a juicy check for $200. What a deal!! I told Cody I wanted to sleep on it. I text him the following day telling him I would keep the truck and we'd go our separate ways, me obviously being unhappy and I'll let everyone I can know that this dealership lacks integrity and I'd never do business with a Carr dealership again, they bait and switched me. He wanted to talk. So we talked the next day, pointless conversation of course. I knew they wouldn't do what needed to be done to make me happy, which was $2,000 reimbursement. I would not pay over $40k for a platinum, and $38k for a Limited, these were my guidelines. I didn't even ask for it because I knew I was wasting my time and we were miles away from a win win solution. I accepted what happened and can't do anything about a business with trash customer service that lacks honesty and accountability. He continued making excuses about how the "accident" happened, darn VIN was at fault of course, apparently it was the 1 in 10,000 (or whatever number) vehicles that the computer screwed up and auto populated all the wrong info. Stupid computers am I right? Well I don't care who's fault it was, the company screwed up and bait and switched me, and then simply waits for me forget about it, not doing a damn thing. Deb and Cody were nice enough to deal with, I have a problem with the company and their policies when it comes to them screwing up and lying to customers. I could have unwound the deal, I should have looked at things in more detail, but I trusted the company to not mis represent their products and it wasn't even in my head to think they were lying. At the end of the day, instead of me feeling like I got a good deal, I feel like I walked in a paid sticker price at a dealership like an idiot would. Yes, they had the truck booked out as a Limited (per Cody), but wtf do I care about that. Also, the truck had been sitting for over a month and they took my offer immediately, wonder why?! Then Cody tries to tell me the dumbest and most common load of crap a salesman says, THEY BOUGHT THE TRUCK FOR $39,900, yet were selling it to me for $40K. Sure, I've heard that identical story from 4 different used car salesman the past 2 months. Weird how these poor car companies are always the ones getting the raw deal. Poor things. I will never do business with Carr again, and will forever tell anyone I know about this experience to make sure to stop as many people as I can from doing business with them. I've been in my own business for close to 20yrs myself and have made many mistakes, my employees have made many mistakes, but you know what? I always rectify them and make them right, not sit there and point fingers and have an attitude of "oh well, crap happens move along". I was (what I felt) rudely turned away. It kinda gives The Cadillac brand as well as Carr dealerships a bad look. Turning me away is short sided as I will need somewhere local to service my new car as well as future parts sales . Brought my ATS here for an oil change. All around great experience. I gotta give extra credit to Raychel, the service person, for multiple reasons! I rescheduled I her like 2 times, she was very patient and understanding with me. Then after getting my car back I wasn't sure if I would get one of those car wash tokens or not so I asked. She quickly offered a wash and even when I was hesitant and felt bad for making them wash my car after they already finished with it, she made me feel totally comfortable and grabbed it to get it washed. My review is of the service department ... Last year I bought a Buick (not from Carr) and brought it in to have the whole car gone through to see what I really had. One of my radio speakers didn't work (kinked speaker wire) and the Buick shifted hard when put into gear and we needed a second key. Stan was our man (as in service writer). They fixed the speaker ($100) and said the hard shift was loose engine mounts. They also said that one of the wheels was "loose" and dangerous (loose tether or wheel mount or something). The total would be about $1,000 for the radio, the engine mounts, and the 'supposed' loose wheel. I had a good buy on the Buick initially so I thought "spend the $1,000 and I'm still ahead". We OK'd all the work. I get the car home after all the expense. I put it gear - clunk - hard shift. WTF. I take it back to Stan and he's says 'Oh, it must be the 'other' engine mount'. I said 'Stan, you're telling me you charged $500 to changed the engine mounts and only changed one of them - and it was the wrong one?' Yes. he said. It said it'd be another $400 to change the other one. I told him 'Uh, no. My wife didn't want this done. Now you don't fix the problem want to charge me another $400 to try and fix it again?' Then, the telling statement, I asked 'Stan, you're not one of those service writers who tries to trump up the service just for a big ticket, are you?' Stan's reply "I try not to do that'. Hhhhhhmmmm. So, they replaced the other engine mount (I guess) and yes, it still shifts hard to this day. They didn't charge me for the other engine mount, but the problem was never fixed. They also couldn't even make me a duplicate key -- "it's hard one". Hhhmm. Most troubling, I wonder if there every really was a supposed loose wheel. Uggh. The worst part - I'd convinced my wife to go to a factory dealer/GM Goodwrench just to avoid this kind of trouble. I figured you pay more for factory training, but it's done right. Review is for sales experience. Anyone who has EVER purchased a car, new or old, knows how much it sucks! Even if you know which car you want, the process is overwhelming and pressuring and just no fun. My experience at Carr Auto in Vancouver was definitely one of a kind. I have personally purchased 4 vehicles in my life and used to finance cars for a living and this place deserves 5 stars. My husband had been looking for a used Tahoe and I found one listed on AutoTrader here. We showed up, were greeted right away from the man who ended up selling us the truck, and genuinely enjoyed the entire process. Everyone from the sales guy, to the sales manager to the guy we signed with, it was all a pleasure. We had our 2yr old son with us and even though we came to look at the truck, were a little unprepared to actually buy it due to the other disappointing experiences days leading up to this one. Everyone was patient with my little noise maker, the sales guy offered us a granola bar from his lunch since we'd already ran out of snacks and they were ready to jump to get markers and paper for entertainment. They have a cute little play area for kids, so much better than just a TV. I mean TV can be nice, but even 2yr old can't remain glued for that long. We're very happy with our new truck and I would recommend this dealership to anyone :) read more
