I've always had positive experiences at this urgent care, which is why my visit yesterday was so disappointing. While the nurse practitioner was kind, the care felt rushed and lacked empathy for the significant pain I was in. The treatment (a shot) was ineffective, and there was reluctance to prescribe lidocaine patches, which I wanted and are covered by my insurance. The real frustration began afterward. I was told to go straight to my CVS and I waited for an hour in the CVS parking lot for a prescription that was never sent. When I called this morning, I was told the NP would call me back. Now, at the end of the day, I still haven't heard a word. this lack of follow up and basic concern is deeply frustrating. I truly like this facility and hope this is just an isolated incident. read more

I had an Telehealth appointment here at 8:30AM today and when I didn't receive the link as I usually do for my appointment. I noticed my phone had a missed call with a voicemail directing me to call back at 7146682505. When I called back four times, everyone told me the office is closed. Terrible experience. waited 2 hours to get an x ray and the tech tells me he won't do it because I'm pregnant even though my doctor said to do the x ray. the x ray is on my foot way away from baby. waste of time and very unprofessional. I had to ask for an outside referral for an x ray and getting the results have taken forever. read more

I was in the area for work and was seen quickly and easily. I was able to make an appointment online and didn't have to wait. They took my insurance and I got excellent health care. It's urgent care, so of course they can't solve every problem under the sun, but they were able to diagnose my Shingles and get my meds going in record time. Super friendly too. Come here all the time for more emergent issues when our primary care office is closed or fully booked for the day. Between our family of 5 we have been here about 7 or 8 times. Great experiences every time. It's always clean and the providers do their due diligence. Would honestly rather come here than spend hours at the pediatric office anyways. I really wanted to take this time to write this review because my experience at Costa Mesa Urgent Care was so great and I am so appreciative and thankful for all the help that I received. This was my first time here and the day I arrived, I was helped right away by Denise and Rebecca. I felt immediately calm, and when Cassandra came in to see me, she eased all of my worries and concerns and gave me excellent advice and counseling on how to maintain and improve my health. It genuinely feels like a Family atmosphere here, and I felt like I was at home because everyone truly showed that they cared about me and my well being. I have been here now three times this last time put the worst taste in my mouth. I am a cash patient and every single time it is a different price its never set price for a visit every doctor or nurse practitioner (Not even a real doctor )have a different price that would be nice to know before you see the doctor. I had a test done here and when I got my results, the person couldn't even answer my questions and hung up on me. When I am worried about my health that is not the way that someone should deal with things. I'm going to make sure that no one I know goes to your facility. I had ear infection and liquid coming out. I went there on a Sunday and the doctor prescribed something and we went to the pharmacy right away. However, it turns out the doctor prescribed something that needed prior auth so I had to wait until they reopened on Monday. Monday AM Spent 3 whole hours on the phone trying to figure out what is going on while having an ear pain. After the insurance explained everything I spoke with Ester at the urgent care to see if they can do the prior auth, she says no the doctor will prescribe something else and she goes the doctor has 7 patients waiting and you are not the only one. I don't think they were there the day before. I'm unable to get my meds spent the entire night in discomfort and this is what I get! #horrible #notsourgent US healthcare sucks read more

I brought my aunt in because she was detoxing from medication. She had the typical signs of shaking, pacing, crawling things on her skin, etc. I just needed a physician to tell her this is normal, which the doctor did, however after her detox my aunt came back and the doctor prescribed her the same medication she was detoxing from. I now have to have her primary care red list her. I really did not want to do this. All the urgent care doctor had to do was read the previous physicians progress notes. read more

I signed in online for an appointment - made it to the facility. The receptionist was the absolute most condescending and non-helpful or solution oriented receptionist I have ever interacted with. Especially for a medical office that should be approachable, problem solving and caring she was the exact opposite and kept blaming "California State Law" for her attitude. When I explained to her I wasn't told when I booked the appointment I needed to have a printed out and signed workman's comp form she blamed her co workers for not explaining and when I asked for solutions on how to get it printed she again kept using the "California State Law" excuse. We need helpful, kind, and solution orientated people and not degrading, rude receptionists at the first point of contact for especially medical offices where people are already in pain and suffering. Spare yourself and go to another clinic. read more

Make sure that they actually take your insurance. I have visited this location twice and both times they informed me that they took my insurance. My wife went to location and was informed that they do not take our insurance and was told by the staff that "YOUR HUSBAND WILL RECEIVE A BILL FOR EACH OF HIS VISITS BECAUSE WE DO NOT TAKE YOUR INSURANCE". Be aware of the inept individuals who are running your insurance for coverage. I hope to not receive a bill, but if I do see you in small claims court for your mistakes!!! Stay Away!!! read more

My visit was great from start to finish. I booked an urgent care appointment online and was seen within minutes of completing my new patient paperwork. The front desk staff was welcoming, polite and friendly. I was very happy with the way the PA, Mendy, listened to my symptoms and asked the questions she needed to. She ultimately decided that I needed the emergency room and sent me off with the discharge papers showing that I needed the ER. I'm thankful that she sent me since I later found out at the ER that I had two issues needing immediate care and surgery. read more

I have been to this urgent care several times and sometimes I can agree with the reviews below the wait is long but honestly 1) make an appointment and 2) be aware that there is always a line at urgent cares in general. Dot be shocked if your son/self isn't seen the minute you walk through the door. I always use the yelp app to make and appointment and it has never failed me. The staff is so polite and helpful. This was my first time going to the center. I had horrible pain. The building is nice and a receptionist at the door taking temps and making sure we have masks on. The urgent center was nice. They had chairs marked where and where not to sit. There were 3 people I'm the lobby when I was there. Staff was very nice and I hardly had any wait once my paperwork was done. But .... the doc walks in, don't remember his name and he looked like he had just rolled out of bed. He did a cursory exam. Told me what he thought which is what I thought and told me what to take. I left with zero paperwork for my treatment plan Two days later I'm still in agony so I call. The doc I saw was off, I should come in again. Not doable so I asked if another doc would look at me records and give me some ideas. Instead a PA Said go to the ER. WTH? I've had kidney stones and when my doc was off her backup gave me something. I've never been to a place who won't even help. I won't be going back there. It was close that's why I went but refusing to treat me 2 days after I saw a doc is just like all the other burned out docs around. Try someplace else read more

Updating my review after three months of dealing with the aftermath of these visits. I did talk to Peggy (the practice manager). It turned out that the lab they used screwed up the results of my test, and the doctor decided to let me stay sick instead of calling me back in to get another test. Peggy told me I could come in to get free bloodwork done, that they would run it there at their lab and they wouldn't bill my insurance. I went in to get the bloodwork done, and got a call a couple of days later that they accidentally didn't take enough blood. They apologized AGAIN and tried to bribe me with movie tickets to come back in to do more tests. At this time, I was no longer sick and decided to just cut my losses with this hospital. A month goes by and I get a bill in the mail for the bloodwork they said was going to be free! I tried to call Peggy again, but she doesn't pick up. I leave her a message and she never calls back. Finally after a month of fighting with them, they come up with a lie that I got bloodwork twice (which is NOT true). I'm being sent into collections based on something that was supposed to be free. This entire hospital needs to be investigated. If I'm just one person being treated this horrendously, then there have got to be so many other people being taken advantage of. read more

I found this new facility very inviting and calming. Nothing like other places I have been to in the past. From the receptionist to the doctor I was treated very efficiently but with respect and friendly vibes. I didn't once feel rushed like I have experienced in other offices I was thrilled my wonderful family doctor, Peter Kim, actually called to request I come in on a SUNDAY for a follow up. My blood pressure was high during my regular Friday appointment and as it was the first time this had happened to me he wanted to make sure I was testing myself correctly! How's that for above and beyond service! Doesn't get any better than this. I left with a printed action plan and recap of our meeting. Prescription had already been sent to CVS which was ready for me on my drive home. I wish I could give more than 5 Stars. Reading some of the crazy and incorrect reviews I had to double check this was the same place! I have to comment they ARE open weekends Sat 8 am - 8 pm and Sunday 8 - 5. Doctors and staff do need time off too. Sometimes they may look a little tired and burned out - but doesn't everyone? BTW - Patients should take the responsibility of knowing and learning about their own health - and understand their insurance coverage before it is needed. read more

Receptionist was grumbling under her breath "good lord, ugh" when she had difficulty reading someone's writing, at the computer etc. Then I was told to go to the ER for my issue before i was even looked at(which is NOT an ER issue) so I didn't "waste time and money", have you BEEN to an ER lately?..had to speak about my health issue in from of 5 other patients with no privacy and insist I be seen here. Cassandra Tom, FNP-C, is extremely wonderful and truly cares about her patients. She is so pleasant to interact with. She explains everything to you in terms you can understand. FNP Takigawa is also super sweet and caring. Everyone working here are extremely nice and caring. My mother has been seen here for quite some time now and it's always a quick and easy visit. The wait time is not long compared to other places and the place is always clean. You have the option to check in online which is very handy. Wait time was significantly longer than I'd expected. When I went to the Fountain Valley location the wait time was less than 15 minutes. I ended up waiting almost 1 hour beyond my appointment time to see someone at this location. But once in, the Nurse and Nurse Practitioner that helped me was great and had nothing bad to say about her. Update based on response from staff: I did make an appointment online to avoid the wait time. My appointment was for 11:30 and I arrived at 11:20 only to be seen at 12:30. read more
