Small steak salad, not small at all.
    Sabrina M.

Costa Vida is like if Chipotle and Café Rio had a baby--only better. The tortillas are made fresh right in front of you, if you're a tortilla lover, this is your spot. Mom & I both ordered steak salad, the steak was melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Every sauce we tried was ridiculously tasty and totally over the top in the best way. The place is clean, bright, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. So glad we randomly stumbled on this gem--definitely coming back!

Costa Vida is a great spot for a quick lunch. Ordering is a breeze through the app and staff always makes orders promptly if you aren't one to order ahead on the app. Everything at Costa Vida is made fresh in house. The portions are generous! I often order the small nachos and it is the perfect amount for me. The inside is a decent size and the staff does a good job of keeping it clean. There is also a drive thru option. Costa Vida is a good choice for a healthier quick bite in the area, and I'll for sure be back in the near future. Still need to try the tacos!

I work very close to this location so like to stop after work to grab dinner once in a while. Today I stopped in for a kids quesadilla meal & some chips and queso. The meal comes with a quesadilla (or taco or enchilada if I remember right), rice, beans, a kids drink & a cinnamon tortilla for dessert. I highly recommend the sweet pork! I get it MOST of the time I go. Their queso is great too. It has a little bit of a kick, so maybe skip it if you're sensitive to spice. They have horchata too! The people working are always friendly and service is pretty quick too. The restaurant is always clean but I usually take it to go so I can relax at home while I eat. If you are a dessert lover like me, they have a few options. I recommend the tres leches. They do have a rewards app and sometimes have some deals when you order through the app. And kids eat free on Monday with the purchase of a regular entree and drink.

We found this place by accident as we were looking for a quick place to grab food while we were headed out of town. We have been enjoying the new shopping and restaurant options on 159th's new development area. The drive thru goes behind the building. We ordered 3 different options of tacos each and some guacamole and chips and was highly impressed with the quality, freshness and taste in all the flavor options. (Carnitas, chicken, steak) My favorite is the carnitas and the guacamole was super good. We will definitely be back!!

We love Costa Vida! This location did not disappoint! They have delicious sweet pork that makes everything taste great. We love the nachos and the tacos. This is the best place to get tacos, they cook the cheese onto the tortilla making them taste amazing. Very kid friendly too, there's lots of free diapers in the bathroom just in case you may need one which I thought was neat. Fast service too. Excited for our next visit!

just uncovered to take a good look at it!!

I passed by this place about a week ago, but I had already ate so there was no need to stop! so, Sunday,I was in overland park and it wasn't far from the location so I went because I really wanted to try and I like Mexican food. The place was clean and I was greeted upon entry! I seen the advertisement for "SWEET PORK", and I have never heard of such a thing. I ordered a "sweet pork burrito", with black beans, lemon rice, vegetables, Queso on top, and cilantro.. The food smelled so good and when I took my first bite I was in Love with sweet pork!! The burrito was sooo good and I'm glad a took a chance on the sweet pork! I will definitely go back and try something else on the menu, but order sweet pork to take home! the price was right! the flavor was excellent! one of the managers talked with me about the history of the place and told me that all ingredients are made in house in the morning. all the tortilla shells are made by a lady in the morning; awesome and good! I will be back and would recommend this restaurant!

To start off Rafael, at the front was very funny and made it very comforting. He made conversation with us and was very accommodating. We also received free chips and queso which was my daughter's favorite! The place itself is very calm and just seems like a chill spot to come for a quick eat. I ordered the steak tacos and veggie burrito (which Rafael fixed up for me on regular price with no extra charges for adding fries). We enjoyed our food and had a great time. Everything was delicious and Rafael did a great job on making this a good time for us. I wasn't really a big fan of their horchata but they had other good drinks available. I want to add that I feel like we started receiving special treatment because they realized we were yelpies so I don't know how service is on a regular day. Altogether, I'll be coming back here again!

The service was okay! Nothing super special but they answered questions and were helpful at the counter. This was our first time here so we ordered a few things to sample and share amongst ourselves. The first thing we had was the chips and queso, which I thought was a bit expensive at $7.99 but not too bad. The queso was fairly spicy but otherwise nothing special. I usually love queso so it surprised me how neutral I felt toward it! The chips were good, thin and light with a crispy bite to them. We unfortunately didn't get to try the salsa, noticing only at the end of our meal that there was a sauce bar near the counter! The birria tacos were also...okay. They were very juicy but not very uniquely flavored compared to everything else we tried. The meat was tender and I loved the texture of the tortilla, but didn't care for the massive handful of cilantro dropped on top of everything on the plate. The dipping liquid (birria sauce?) was alright! It was the same flavor as the tacos themselves so it didn't add much, but it definitely wasn't bad. The "main course" of what we ordered was a combo of soft chicken tacos, rice, and beans. The chicken tacos were unfortunately very cold by the time we got them which was a bit strange, as almost everything else was hot! They tasted good but I'm really not a fan of eating cold chicken, so I passed them off to my friends. The beans were just okay. There's really not much to say about them. The rice also left me disappointed! I typically devour Spanish rice. Not only was it cold, there were also odd, hard grains of rice mixed in. Not enough to get one every bite but enough that the experience of eating it was off-putting. It was also quite bland. Another note: While we were eating, there was this constant loud droning coming from the air conditioner. I'm a MASSIVE fan of air conditioning so I'm grateful it was on in the first place, but that is something they really need to get fixed. Two women seated near us actually got up and walked outside after commenting multiple times about how disturbing the noise was. My experience here was definitely a mixed bag but it leaned toward the positive, so we'll likely try them again! They had several other menu items I'd like to try, including some American fare that I found intriguing.

My build-your-own weekday lunch ($8) included choice of entrée, choice of beans and rice. It was served just ten minutes after I ordered at the table, which gave me time to dig into the complimentary chips and mild (with a little kick), somewhat chunky salsa. The chicken tinga burrito was packed full of moist, white chicken and topped with a very flavorful sauce and cheese. I found the black beans to be pretty good, but the rice was somewhat dry and clumpy. The dining area had a central bar area, unique light fixtures, a mix of booths and tables, Mexican decor, Mexican background music (not too loud), a table-side cart for fresh guacamole and several backdrop spots for photos. I also noticed two rollup garage doors leading to the covered patio area. The food and drink menus included Mexican favorites, taco flights, taquito flights, margarita flights, 88 tequilas, meals for the kiddos and brunch (Sat & Sun 11AM - 2PM). Overall, very nice, especially for the lunch price.
