This is probably my fifth time dining here in the last three months. Every time was great except for yesterday the waiter, a young male, kinda long hair, kept forgetting what we ordered. I ordered a Arnold Palmer. He did bring that out, after I drink my beverage, ,he asked me if I wanted a refill. I said yes, so he brought me a lemonade and he brought an iced tea to another guest and when I explained to him, I had ordered the Arnold Palmer. He giggled and said well you can mix it up and make your own. We requested bread usually they do have bread Service. It took him after. I reminded him two times halfway through our dinner to bring it out. I ordered the half chicken and that was actually delicious. We also ordered crabcakes. They're very expensive and I do not recommend the crabcakes cheeseburgers were excellent and then at the end he got the bill mixed up and it just seemed like he got attitude because I told him to fix it. He came back dropped off my bill and I could not believe what happened next. If you read all my reviews, I try to give everybody good reviews because I understand it is a business and people make their livelihood through a business and some days people are off, so I try not to give a bad review but in this case at the end of the meal, he did say thank you when he gave me bill, then he turned around and there was a very bad odor like if he gassed and left because he was upset at us during the dinner he kept giggling and saying my bad it seemed like if he was on something and I did ask him are you OK sir but I will tell you right now. I will not come back here and eat. Pescadero in such a beautiful town and the state part up there is wonderful and I really enjoyed the layout of this restaurant but after last night, I'm sorry I do not recommend this place. The owners need to talk to their staff or people will be upset. Good luck.

We have been coming to this RV resort for Years ! I can't believe this is my 1st review . Very large resort ! Great activities for the kiddos in the summer ! Amazing views and right off Highway one . Also, we gotta say all the staff here are ALWAYS friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable! That is so important! Great Restaurant and Bar . And in the summer a Bar Cart cruises around the park ! So, many wonderful trips here. This is our destination on the Coast . :)

The land all around is so beautiful!

We went as a group of women on retreat. We had lots of fun, but.......everything was difficult in terms of communication. It was not easy to coordiate, and we were miss-informed about a lot of things. The staff at the venue did not seem to have a sense of urgancy about much of anything....even getting new towels was a hassle. I called Logan, the manager, a week ago but still have not had a call back. It really felt like once they received our payment, they didn't care much about our stay. There was even crazy loud dominatrix sex happening at night in the cypress bungalows... like, NOT the kind of thing that you would expect to hear at a "family campground". The staff didn't seem to care. Our family has visited Coastanoa many times over the last 25 years and we have always loved it and felt like we were treated very well. It was always such a treat to go. So this visit was a big surprise and unexpected disappointment. It's extremely expensive (it used to be more affordable) for what you get. I have a feeling they are trying to target large companies who can pay more than regular individuals. It didn't used to be like that....it's sad.

Glamping at Costanoa was everything we needed! This place is super clean, comfy, and GORGEOUS! Set along the coast and the mountains. Coming from San Francisco, Pescadero was the perfect distance for us This family retreat had it all. A fantastic restaurant, a general store, and a fun pine tent bar/restaurant that had great music and fresh made pizza. Costanoa wanted to make fire that the grown ups had as much fun as the kids But the nature walks, and all of the beautiful birds was zen. It was peaceful. We decided to go for the 4th of July and the activities Costanoa planned for their guest was awesome! They had a parade where all the guest and dogs dressed and walked, Bingo, and music. Fun! Fun! Fun! 5 stars to the staff and care they gave to all of us guest and the to the establishment. We stayed in the tent bungalow with the amazing heated blankets. They had WI-FI! Thank you Costanoa for a great memorable stay Our next visit we must stay at the lodge! It looks amazing!

Thank you Costanoa for making our 4 year anniversary trip so special! Everything was perfect. Clean cabins, nice campsites, stunning views, great hike nearby, and right across the street from the beach! What more could you need? They even provided us with a complimentary bottle of wine when they found out it was our anniversary. The best surprise ever!

Our upgraded site. It was in the "loop" area. Very nice.

We just finished our first trip to Costanoa and we have mixed reviews. What makes this review special, is that we switched sites midway through our trip. This made for completely different experiences. Our first site was super cramped and awkwardly appointed. We had our neighbor's fire pit near the break door of our trailer. We breathed their smoke, heard their conversations, and it was entirely too close. Our second site was outstanding. The site had tons of space, great views, a patio, furniture, and a huge grass area for anyone to use. The restaurant was fantastic. The food and service were top-notch. The store was well stocked and the staff were friendly. At check in, they asked if I was going to fly any flags. This question caught me off guard as I had never been asked this question at any RV resort. Flags are one of those things you see alot of at RV resorts. I kind of enjoy seeing people's flags. But at this resort, I didn't see any flags. I didn't see the campground fly any american flags either which was also a first. I didn't ask any further questions about their flag rules, since I was worried about what their answer might be. Very strange. This resort is pretty far from any grocery stores, so be sure to come prepared. Also, do your homework on the sites. Choosing the wrong site could really mess up your trip.

Needed a mini get away and this place exceeded my expectations! Booked the same day and it's just what I needed. Not to far from the city, an hour drive with a lovely view on highway 1! The cabin had everything I needed for my boyfriend and I. This place was clean, peaceful, and had great customer service :) I'll definitely be coming back and I'll be sharing this spot with my friends and family

aesthetic: 4.5/5 food: 5/5 service: 5/5 costanoa is a hidden gem for a weekend getaway from sf!! we stayed here for a long weekend to try glamping and loved how quaint and reasonably-priced this retro-esque resort is. we appreciate the staff putting together a communal fire pit for everyone to use and roast marshmallows on - no need to purchase firewood for smores if you're up to make new friends by the campfire. one aspect of costanoa we were looking forward to was the sauna. unfortunately, it's really small and next to the bathrooms, so i would recommend going early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid the crowds and actually feel at peace. however, the sauna is a much-needed amenity, especially after going on one of the campsite's beautiful coastal hikes (the trailheads are conveniently on the resort). to my surprise, the best part about costanoa is... the vegan breakfast burrito!! if costanoa was a bit closer, i 100% would drive here weekly to get that fix. as someone with a plant-based diet, i very much appreciate costanoa having menu options for various dietary needs. overall, costanoa is the spot to visit if you're looking for a scenic retreat or gifting someone an experience without breaking the bank. nothing like one of their solid breakfast burritos to top off a relaxing stay in the redwoods ;)

Stayed here for one night in the C14 cypress tent bungalow. I had a wonderful, restful stay. My tent bungalow had a small patio deck that overlooked nature so it was very peaceful to look out to for sunrise. The grounds are beautiful. The nearby trails were lovely, and I saw deer in the dunes by the beach at sunset, which was magical. The ridge trail looks and smells gorgeous in the early morning! The service and food at the restaurant was outstanding. I enjoyed the vegan options, thank you! Easy access to the bathrooms and loved the outdoor shower! My critiques would be to have different choice for nightstands, possibly small lights on the paths to the bungalow and better placement for the mirror inside. I was grateful for the towels and robe! Wish I could have stayed longer. Thank you!

Planned out a day trip including a stop at Pescadero first followed by a hike at Butano State Park…read more The park itself is quite small and cozy and it's easy to see why it's often referred to as one of the least known California State Parks, because you really do have to make an effort to come here. That being said, the road to the park is quite well paved and there should be no trouble accessing it. We unfortunately visited the park during one of the controlled burns. I would not recommend visiting at those times because the smell of smoke lingers for quite some time even though we visited over a week after the burn ended. There was even one area of the park that was still smoking. It's also sad to see the extensive damage from the CZU fire that ripped through this area back in 2020. But overall there are still tons of beautiful redwoods and the trails are well maintained. Also not many people visit this park so you'll have plenty of peace and quiet on the trails!

But that doesn't mean it's not worth a visit. As of December 2024, all trails in the park are open. I commend the crews that restored the trails-they did an amazing job restoring safe access to the park. While camping remains closed, there are limited facilities (no drinking water and only pit toilets that are in sad shape.) However, if you come with an open mind and an appreciation for how forests regenerate after fires, it's quite an interesting park. I'd hiked an out and back last summer on Jackson flats and then, on NYD 2025, hiked the recently reopened loop of Little Butano Creek, Goat Hill Trail and Olemo Fire road. The creek was still low but there were too many banana slugs and mushrooms to count. Yes, lots of charred trees but also lots of green coming back. The lower trails aren't particularly steep or challenging and it's never crowded. Very peaceful park. It will be interesting to come back, over time, to see how the park regenerates and changes.

We are so happy with our decision! The Pros:Amazing Staff: Tyler greeted us warmly and gave great information.Clean & Maintained: Campsites were pristine, bathrooms were clean, and the hot water in the showers was a huge plus (just bring your own towel).Kid-Friendly Nature: Surrounded by stunning redwoods, the kids loved spotting banana slugs, filling out nature activity guides, and wading in the clean creek.Great Atmosphere: It was wonderful seeing so many kids on bikes and scooters. There is no WiFi/cell service, which was a fantastic excuse to unplug (though you can get a signal at the learning center if needed). Since there were no weekday camp programs, we made our own fun playing charades at the amphitheater. The Cons:No Fire Ring: Our site in the Azalea loop didn't have one, which disappointed the grandkids. Luckily, the neighboring site was empty so we "borrowed" theirs.Departure Encounter: We had a brief interaction with a rude employee on our way out, which was a bummer after such a great trip.Overall, it was an excellent experience and we will definitely return!

The lodging area and whalers cove is worth a stop along Highway 1 Perched dramatically on a cliffside on Highway 1 , the Pigeon Point Light Station State Historic Park is home to one of the tallest lighthouses in America. Tied as the tallest on the West Coast at 115 feet, it has been guiding mariners along the rugged Pacific coast since 1872. The site gets its unique name from the Carrier Pigeon, a Gold Rush-era clipper ship that famously ran aground on the foggy, jagged rocks just 500 feet from shore on its maiden voyage in 1853. While the historic white masonry tower itself is currently closed to the public for a major structural restoration project, the park grounds remain completely open and offer plenty to explore. Be sure to check out Whalers Cove which is a scenic, secluded beach nestled directly below the south side of the Pigeon Point Light Station State Historic Park. Piece of history: In the mid-1800s, it served as a bustling hub for shore whaling operations, where Portuguese whalers would spot migrating whales from the bluffs, row out in small boats to hunt them, and bring them back to the cove to process the blubber. Today, the cove is a protected, peaceful sanctuary where nature has reclaimed the shoreline. Lodgings at the Cove: HI Pigeon Point Lighthouse Hostel If you are looking to stay overnight right on the edge of the cove, the primary lodging option is the HI Pigeon Point Lighthouse Hostel. When I picked her up, she was in tears and as we drove home, she told me details about the verbal abuse, threatening behavior, and dismissive attitude from her camp counselor. My daughter and her friend who attended camp with her shared that their camp counselor yelled at them, unreasonably limited their time for using the restroom and showering, threatened to write all cabin members up without just cause, permitted physical and verbal abuse from another camper in their cabin, dismissed their concerns for their own safety in the presence of this misbehaving cabin mate, told all the girls they were "the worst cabin ever", denied the girls snacks while eating her own in front of them, and did not permit the girls to fully explore the grounds as other campers were allowed to do. They expressed that the negative treatment from the counselor was unwarranted and not a result of misbehavior on their part. In addition, this mistreatment was across the board; everyone in the cabin was denied the same opportunities. Based on their observations, it appeared that campers from other cabins might have had better experiences. We contacted YMCA leadership and expressed our concerns. Their response lacked empathy, accountability, and any real sense of urgency in making sure other campers were not exposed to the inappropriate behavior of this counselor. If you're considering sleep away camp, I strongly suggest you AVOID the YMCA. Whether it's poor vetting, ineffective training, inexperienced leadership, or something else, it's not worth the risk of the potential harm to your child.

The meals they served were also quite filling, as they were always buffet style. One day, many of us went to walk around the hiking trails during the afternoon. I wish the hiking trails were more marked, as many of us got lost among them during the day since a fire road would often run through the trails.
