I have shopped at the Diamond Costco since the early 90's. I notice they have many long term employees. They hire good people and know how to keep them. That says a lot. I have never had a bad experience there. They are awesome. read more

Costco food is a gift to my wallet. In terms of the amount of tastiness that can be had per dollar, Costco wins hands down. The pizza is not mind blowing but it is very good. The service I good and keeps the line moving at a good pace. The options are limited but tasty. Chicken bakes are a beautiful thing. The tables can be full and are at times not entirely clean. They also got rid of the chocolate dipped ice cream bar which should be a criminal act because those things used to be like heaven on a stick. read more

I've been a fan of Costco shopping for many years. They've really got their act together. Among their many great products under their private Kirkland Signature brand is one that I think deserves special mention, and that's Kirkland Signature's Microwave Popping Corn. Orville Redenbacher's is very good but Kirkland Signature's is best by far! For a fifth star let's get to work on stocking Campbell's Condensed Tomato Soup. read more

I am a huge Costco fan but their tire department must be run by people who have little or no interest in customer satisfaction. It could be just bad management or lack of management but their tire department is really lousy. This morning I got to Costco before they opened and stood in line for two hours only to be told that all slots were full for the day. Had I known that I would not make it through the line I would not have waited. I assumed that management would cut off the line when the number waiting exceeded their capacity but they did not. They wasted hundreds of hours of people's valuable time. If Costco needs help designing a system that works I am available. read more

While the deals are costco standard, and so is the interior, I simply hate the chaotic parking nightmare of this location. In general, the pharmacy is just as chaotic. We transferred our meds to Freds due to these factors. I didn't see the value in saving 3 bucks on 5 gallons of mayo to put up with this location. read more

I come in all the time just to get food. Today I went in and got hassled by the "bouncer" and he told me he'd let us in today but next time it's not gonna happen. I walked 5 steps and some other guy started to give me a hard time. Find by me I will take my business elsewhere. Too bad sams is gone. read more

Their selection of beer has really gone down the toilet. I wonder why? And the Citi Bank Credit card that they switched to also sucks. I am just going to cancel mine I have been on the phone with this company for over 7 hours and they cannot give me an address to pay my balance and cancel my account. VERY FRUSTRATING. Well darn. After over a decade of trusting Costco and their goal of balancing price and value, I am disappointed to write that my recent experiences at the Dimond Costco are sub par. The milk has been almost past its fresh date before you purchase the 2 gallons, so remember to look. The eggs are also not so fresh, raw they are watery, boiled they have a shorter than normal shelf life. Recent purchases of t-bones and pork chops on-the-bone had no refrigerator life -- unwrapping and rinsing immediately after bringing home they had an unattractive smell. By the time they were cooked 3 days later they smelled stronger, color had deteriorated greatly...no rare meat was had here. Darn. Guess I might check out the competition after all. Costco shoppers - caveat emptor. read more

Clean well lit. Nice Costco. Was the first one in anchorage. Nice people. Often open 15 minutes early. People in optical department are friendly and helpful. Well stocked. Good produce quality for Alaska. read more

Crowds are terrible and parking is ridiculous. Door people harass and interrogate you to show your card even when your going to your eye doctor appointment. Never had to show my card to see the eye doctor before until Sams Club closed down. Avoid Costco unless you really need something. Costco needs to open up another store or two since Sams Club isnt around. read more

Do not visit the tire center. They are absolutely the some of the worst employees I've ever come across. The team looked lazy, unprofessional and were extremely rude. When I asked various "soft ball" questions about tires, the rude female employee shrugged me off, told me to look it up myself online and was absolutely rude. I've removed my Costco membership and had the lazy employee refund me the cost of the tires. Costco=terrible customer service and absolutely not worth the cost to maintain a membership. I will not recommend this particular store to anyone in anchorage. Only go to this store if you want to enjoy the rudest and laziest employees in Anchorage. read more

I showed up to pick up a large order of prepaid pizzas for a school event today. I did not have the receipt because I was not given the receipt by the school administrator. I now know that I should've demanded that before doing a nice deed for the Anchorage School District. However that does not excuse the fact that the manager of the food court decided to take the opportunity to lecture me on the policy that Costco has in place about needing receipts before picking up large orders or I suppose any order that was pre-paid. I was able to finally get a photo copy of the receipt, had I not been able to get that I am not really sure what would have happened to the pizzas. I suspect they would've ended up at a food shelter! Or I would've had to pay for them a second time. What really frustrated me about this whole interaction is the fact that the manager of the food court continued to want to lecture me even though I was not the the party who had made a mistake. I really have come to expect better service and customer first attitude from Costco but clearly that's not how I was treated today! read more

Don't get me wrong, I love Costco. And there's no way that my current review will thwart any future trips. The 2 stars is merely for the customer service I received the other day from the lady who was checking us out. I completely understand that people can have bad days...I also understand that every one who checks out must have a card...here's the lowdown - you be the judge...I went in with my mom (who is on the account), she wanted to buy a roast to cook for us that night & she wanted to pay, so at checkout we separated the items. I gave the checkout lady my card, paid for my stuff, but when it was my mom's turn to pay she refused to accept payment because it was my card. I get it, but seriously? I'm pretty sure she could've handled it in a less degrading way. Besides, how many times have husbands walked in with wives' card and vice versa? I know I have & they never checked to see if the name on card matched the the name on the debit card. read more

Costco is always clean and has great prices. I recently bought a TV from there. I price shopped all around town and Costco had the the best value. I have the premire membership so I get 2% back at the end of the year, which put the television I chose a total of about $120 cheaper than Amazon. The staff was helpful. Dennis answered all of my questions professionally and was a huge help. read more

I have been a Costco member for almost twenty years.You can see me there two three times a week.For most of the part I have been happy with their prices and convenient location. But today's event probably will change a way what I think about them. I returned St. Louis Ribs (42527) to their customer service. After opening the package at home the smell from the package stunk up my whole house.I look at expiration date and it said it was good for another five days. I took the ribs back to Costco for a refund. Lady behind the counter almost fainted smelling the meat. She had to call her coworker to help me. I got my money back.Then I wanted to talk to meat mgr to let him know that I probably got bad meat and maybe check the rest of the batch. I was shocked by his response. He said that smell was normal.The store mgr William was present and he stated that I am doing good for bringing the bad meat back the first time after so many years of shopping with them. I did not understand his sense of humor and that is not what I was hoping to hear. No words of apology no sorry.They know I will be back because of the prices and values. I am not coming back for costumer service - that is for sure. I am disappointed. And a note for Mr. William:"I am sorry, I apologize" goes a long way. My husband and I had a handful of items when we went to checkout. We put our items on the belt at the check stand, my husband gave his Costco card to the cashier, Judy G, and she proceeded to check us out. Everything was fine until I grabbed my debt card from my wallet. As I began swiping the card, Judy asked if I was on the Costco card, to which my husband and I both said no. She then told us because my name wasn't on the card, I couldn't pay. By this point I had already swiped my card and entered my pin. She promptly swung the pin pad out of my hands, swiveled it around to her, and canceled the transaction stating my husband had to pay for it because his name was on the Costco card, not mine. By this point there was a line of customers behind us watching this whole transaction occur. What awful customer service! My husband and I are married, we have joint accounts, and yet because his name is on the Costco card and mine isn't, he has to be the one to use our account to pay for the merchandise. I am completely appalled at Judy's handling of the situation. We have shopped at this location many times before without ever having a problem like this. As a cashier you should NEVER grab the pin pad out of a customers hands after they have entered their information. In this day and age, who knows what you're doing. Sadly, Judy G has just made my husband and I LOYAL Sam's Club shoppers. That is not how you give outstanding customer service. read more
