First time at this Costco. Surprisingly it has many different items than the one on Rosedale Hwy doesn't have, and it sure is less busy which equals to shorter check out lines! That is a huge plus for my family. The fact that the food court is located outside the warehouse makes it convenient to order and leave but not sure how that would work on rainy days (not that Bakersfield has many of those hehe). I love Costco. Great deals, buy in bulk. Super organized. Staff is really nice. The once thing I absolutely hate buying from here is some of their produce! A lot of it goes bad really fast, like bananas, I buy them Monday and if there are any left they are spoiled by Thursday. Same with grapes and other things. Costco shopping is a delicious adventure that my mom and I love to share. My favorite thing about coming to Costco is the samples. Who wouldn't like free bites of food, much of it steaming hot from the griddle or microwave? I've been warned all my life never to go shopping when I'm hungry, but that just doesn't apply here. Do I always purchase the items I sample? Not often, but I have occasionally purchased something I sampled just because it was so good I had to have it. It's nice to be able to try something new to find out if you like it before to commit to buying a whole package of it. I should warn you that almost everything you buy at Costco either comes in a huge package or has normal sized containers packaged together in multiples. That's probably great if you are shopping for a family, but for a single person that quantity is often just too much, especially if it's a perishable item. I find that I consistently get good deals on vitamins, hair products, office supplies, and snacks. Food items are hit and missl sometime the deals are great and sometimes they are average. I have purchased a variety of non-food items from Costco including books, DVDs, computer storage drives, plants, a blender, a television which are not packaged as multiples. Sometimes the deals are great and sometimes they are just average. To get the most out of the Costco shopping experience, know what you want to buy and what the price is elsewhere so you'll know if you're getting a good deal. Costco accepts cash, checks, American Express, Costco Cash Cards, and debit cards. They do not accept Visa or Mastercard. You do have to be a member to shop, but membership is only $55 annually for an individual or a household. read more

Costco is one of the two warehouse stores we have in Bakersfield. Prices are pretty low, and just the savings on dog food pays for our annual membership. Only two complaints: 1) The constant checking of membership ID, before entering and while paying. One time should be sufficient. 2) Is the double checking that you paid for your items on your way out. It is like paying someone to suspect you of stealing from them. There is no merchandise between the check stand and the door, do you really need to verify it? I come to this location at least once a week sometimes more, they have really improved customer service and have more open checkouts now than in the past, Thank You. While I Shop I usually order my Pizza by phone so that it will be ready when I leave, I want to ramble on and say bad things about the person that answered the phone at the food court but I won't, since when do you not have custom orders by phone (pepperoni and sausage) how is that even custom I've been ordering that pizza for years, anyways I'm not too happy with that so your 5 star experience just turned to a 3 star good day. read more

But it is my go to place for certain thing such as: __gas for my car as they are always cheaper for a higher quality gas __polish dogs and sodas are only $1.50 __and I love their very berry strawberry yogurt sundaes. every other place prices their frozen yogurt much higher for what you get __if you love Irish Whiskey like I do you can get a good deal on a large bottle of Jamison __they have very good meat especially steaks and lamb chops even though it won't be the cheapest in town but it will be tender __they often have great deals on electronics such as computers, laptops, flash drives, etc. Just watch the impulse buying or you could easily part with much more than you wanted to spend. read more

Costco is a great place to be. They always have cool new items and fair prices. I have always loved Costco and have been a long time member. I love that they have items that you can only find here, and also they have great deals on movie tickets, restaurants, hotels, and even whole vacations. A lot of people think you need a large family to go shopping at Costco, but my wife and I go here, and it's great. Costco has the best meats, prepared foods, and organic choices in town. The real reason for writing this review is because of a great experience we had awhile ago. I feel bad because I didn't write about this before, but I will never forget it. About a year ago, we were going through Costco and were looking for a silverware set that was on a great sale. It was hard to find someone that wasn't busy to come and help us. There was a guy on a forklift driving by and I asked him if he could send us someone or come back when he was finished to help us. He parked his forklift and asked how he could help. We told him we were looking for this silverware set and he said he thought they were all sold, but he would check. He was gone for a few minutes and then came back and said he didn't want us to think he forgot, but he was just checking everywhere, but he hadn't found them yet. So we kept shopping and he ended up finding us and bringing us a box of the silverware that he found. We were very excited. I work in retail, so I know it's a balancing act between helping customers and getting your tasks down. He put aside his tasks and helped us. We were so excited that he found the silverware and are so thankful that he took the time to help us. He was also very friendly, and even took time to show us a couple of the other really great deals that Costco had. He really cemented our love for Costco, and we are grateful. I wanted to send a letter to corporate on his behalf, it's probably too late now, but if one of his managers is reading this, his name was Aaron Daniels. A Costco is a costco no matter which one you go . All the costcos are over crowded and parking is a mess on weekends . This particular location is not different than any other costco I have been . Some of the staff here are very helpful some of them do not care as usual . Any body who goes to Costco knows that you go there for shopping few things and come out with many :). Gas prices are really cheap and a big lines of autos are always there to greet but still very fast service . read more

What's there not to love about Costco??? They have great quality brands both generic and brand name. They seem to be carrying more and more organic options. The samples are always a plus. The meat is a great quality. We always buy our toiletries here. Great deals on gift cards including local business is a huge plus. Sadly though corporate decided to get rid of the self checkout. I'm hoping they can at least have an express line for those of us that can actually make out of the store with just a few items. read more

I go to Costco primarily for two things: Cakes and the pharmacy. Both departments are staffed by folks who are efficient and friendly. Today, I was there to pick up prescriptions, and because I was also buying some OTC Sudafed, there are extra hoops they have to jump through--time-consuming hoops. The gal who assisted me was pleasant and even funny while we went through all the steps. I also enjoyed a hot dog & soda deal at the snack bar. Hard to believe it's still only $1.50. Delicious! I'll be re-upping my membership when the time comes. Lotsa good value here, if only for a couple of things. read more

I go to this Cosco all the time and I think it is a very good Costco. They have bulk food items and other high-quality items for great prices. If you're looking for the lowest price in town, this is not your store, but all the items they have are high-quality and you're getting a great value for the price. I've had nothing but positive experiences with the employees at the store. They are always friendly and ready to help. The only complaint I have about this location is that they got rid of the self check-out lines, which were very helpful when you're only picking up a few items. read more

This is the best Costco gas station I have EVER been to. Why? A few things. First, it's clean. I've never been here at a time and felt "wow. This is gross." Why else? The attendants I have interacted with here are very helpful and kind. BUT the most important thing is that this Costco gas station has the shortest lines I have ever witnessed in my experiences at Costco. I rarely ever have to wait, and if I do it is generally for one car. I have tried random times here and it's always a breeze. read more

I am throwing a baby shower for my sister in Fresno and I live here in Bakersfield, I went into this store and asked if I could fill out the order form but have it faxed to Fresno so I could pick the cake up there instead of hauling it the 2 - 2 1/2 hours. They directed my husband and I to the front of the store where we met Trey, the general manager. Let me tell you!! This man had NO problem filling out the form, going over it with us, emailing it to the Fresno store and proceeded to get us their contact info and direction on what to do so we can make sure it goes flawlessly.... I appreciate how much he went out of his way to make this possible!!! read more

Costco Pharmacy in this location is great! They render great customer service. Nolan is the pharmacist who patiently helped me with my insurance that needs to be updated. He helped me get my medications in less than 15 minutes! This pharmacy have a great staff too! read more

This location is closer to my house and so I frequent this one more than the Rosedale location. I would say this location is the better of the two. The gas station is BIG, so you usually don't have to wait, or wait very little. The store is always clean and has tons of samples. I love the customer service it rocks. This is for the gas station portion only Living in OC and being used to the massive lines at the gas station - I must say I LOVE THIS COSTCO GAS STATION!!! There are lines of ohhhhh maybe 3 cars in any one line, there's just never a line when I'm there. I feel like royalty or something! The gas attendants are also very friendly and chatty - I've been filling-up here before heading back to OC since the store has been here and it's always the same - I don't know if I hit it at just the right time or what, but I love it. A few times the gas attendants have stopped to chat or will offer a friendly hello as they walk about the area - not so in OC.... and I've been there on really slow days I guess because a couple times they've actually come up and offered to pump my gas for me while chatting - that's amazing customer service. This is the only place I stop for gas before heading back over the grapevine and if they're not open when I leave, I make sure to get there to fuel-up before they close! Awesome place read more

I am doing a review on the Costco on panama ln. Not all costcos are equal. I purchased a set of tires; a few months later one of my tires got a pipe stuck in it and had to be replaced. I asked them to install the spare tire on my running rim and to place the new tire on my spare rim; the mechanics denied the switch. I ask for rotation, they refuse to do rotation as well. I left the truck so they can replace the bad tire with a new one. They had me pay a prorated fee for the wear of the old tire. AFTER TWO HOURS THEY CALL ME. They gave me my Tahoe back with a rim all scratched up and drained out battery. I couldn't even drive out of there. They blame me for it. I had my kids with me, it was too hot to deal with these incompetent people out in the parking lot. To make things worse my groceries were getting hot as well. They gave me a jump and sent me right out of there. Today I tried to speak with a supervisor, a clerk transferred me....I get no answer. I see there are a bunch of new workers there and the representative that took care of me had a very bad attitude and was treating me like he was doing me a favor. It is the third set of tires I purchase there and the first time I deal with these new people. It's the last time I do business in the tire center, don't go there, they have no clue what they are doing. I am updating the review and even changed the rating from one to 4 star. I came back hoping to speak with a supervisor and I did. Emmaule Caro, tire center shop manager listen to our complain and fixed all the wrong doings from the mechanics. Some of the people here treat you nice and with respect others seems they have attitude or are careless with customers. Called in at 4:45, told 1 hour and arrived before 6. Waited in line until 6:20. Cashier and the other cashier that's not cashiering anymore cause they're short staffed on a Saturday, track down my ticket and tell me my pizzas have not even been made yet after 1 1/2 hours. It was a 2 hour total wait after being told 1 hour as well the last time, on a Thursday and also being told they were under staffed. Costco, your food service management is s**t because you allow this to routinely happen. I've worked plenty of pizza and restaurant jobs in my early years, and a monkey could probably be trained to run a more efficient food court at this store location. Why do you not employ runners so the lines actually move. I understand cashiers making quick items like hot dogs or churros, but come on, you should employ runners to Make smoothie and iced coffees. There is a big difference between Rosedale store and Panama store. When I got to the store around 1030, it was not busy at all compared to the store in Rosedale. First, there is plenty of parking and don't have to park far. We walk in to buy or items and when we check out, you can either self check out or go to the register. Not long lines at the register.
