Costco has , by far, the best roasted chicken on the planet and you can't beat the price. Feed a family for 4 bucks!!

I visit this store fairly often. I shopped here on Wednesday, August 15th. It wasn't very busy, in fact I walked right up to one of two empty lines. My cashier was Ruben G. He was NOT friendly at all. When an item I was going to purchase rang up as a higher price, I asked why. His assistant(a nice young woman) offered to run back to check on the item for me. When she came back to tell me what my mistake was, I chose not to buy the item. Ruben then huffed and rolled his eyes. There was only one person in line behind me and they had only just began unloading their basket. Another issue I had was when my mother(who had picked up the same item for my sister) decided she didn't want it, her cashier told her to go to register 51 and someone would help her. She stood there for 2-3 minutes before anyone came over. Before the man did come over her looked my mom's way, said something to the woman he was conversing with, she looked over and rolled her eyes. When he walked up, he asked what was wrong. My mom told him and he curtly replied, "THIS is not the returns desk." My mom explained that the cashier had told her to go there and NOT returns. He then called over another woman who helped my mom. This female employee was kind courteous. I normally do not write reviews but the treatment we received at this location was not like Costco and did not meet the standards that Costco has. We have liked Coatco for many years. However, we are disappointed that the food quality at this location (Chandler) has gone down hill in recent years. We have bought frozen lobster tails and jumbo shrimp that turned out to stink after they were thawed. We had to through them away. Some meats and vegetables have expired dates on them and are still being sold. After this past New Years, we bought six pre-packed refrigerated roasted duck legs which we had before and they were good. But, this time (not realizing that they had expired date when purchased), when I opened them to cook for a dinner party, they stunk so badly when I opened the packets, that I had to move our guests outside! We ended up going out for dinner! Just last weekend, I bought a bag of "fresh" asparagus. They looked firm and green, but not realize that they were nearly frozen from the box. Next day when I try to use them, they were all rotted. From now on, we will try to go to different Costcos and see if other branches also have this major problem. read more

Please think twice before shopping at the Costco in Chandler, AZ again. I have been a longtime Executive member and in the past have been pleased with the Costco experience. However, it has come to my attention that they have unfair firing practices. It is not unionized, however, but from what I have heard, I have always thought that Costco would be a great place to work at. They offer very competitive wages and benefits to permanent full-time and half-time workers as well. Recently, an employee at this Costco was abruptly fired after having worked dutifully and reliably and for more than 8 months. This employee wasn't even given the opportunity to defend themself against the accuser, a fellow employee, or able to give their side of the story to management. A write-up followed and a 3 day suspension occurred, but when the suspended employee disagreed with wording over the offense in the write-up and challenged it, the immediate manager to this employee became upset and fired them. No recourse WHATSOEVER! They were not even allowed by management to question the process. The offense was such a minor thing that you would all laugh if I told you and wouldn't even believe that a person could be fired for having done this, seriously, I am not joking! I believe the Costco's CEO would be aghast at the firing practices at this particular Costco. He appears to be a very just and humane person in how he runs his company and this just does not reflect the Costco business practices that I am familiar with. Please express your support and let Costco know that these type of practices are unacceptable in todays society. The management at Chandler AZ's Costco should be aware of what goes on in their store in regards to treatment of employees, and they should be embarrassed! I am giving this 2 stars today. I went in with the intention to see what sort of deal they had on a ninja mixer. I walked in and pushed my cart to the section where they keep all the blenders at which point the guy running the vita mixer stand at the end began to ask me to come watch his demonstration. I told him that I was not interested to which he persisted. I told him I was not interested a total of 3 times before I just moved further down the aisle. At this point he started making remarks about me to other customers and stating "well some people, you try and save them money and they just don't want to listen". I checked some of the other mixers and walked back to take a final look at the blender I wanted, after he had finally stopped mocking me for choosing any blender but the Vita Mixer, which can apparently do anything that any other item in that entire aisle can do (literally he would call this out each time I stopped at any box. That is when this pushy sales man decided to continue "Hey sir welcome back! are you ready to hear about the vita mixer?". At this point I had had enough and I looked at him and stated "Listen I have told you 3 times now that I am not interested, please leave me alone". That should have been the end, he could clearly see that I was angry and he was overstepping his limits. To this he started yet another sales pitch!! I held my hand up and told him quite loudly that I we were done here and to stop talking to me. At this point people walking by were staring at us, I mean who wouldn't, a random argument had broken out at costco between a customer and a "sales man" who could not get it through his head that he was way out of line. At this point I just ignored him and started checking the box and looking up reviews on my phone. The whole time he made snide remarks about me buying a japanese named blender and how far be it from him to recommend an American made product and basically stating I was unamerican for wanting to purchase something other than the vita mixer. First of all, the blender is about 200+ after checking prices online, and is not what I am looking for. Secondly what was his end game? He had made me angry to the point that I was darn sure I was going to talk to a manager, did he think I would just walk over and spend way more than I had intended to? After the 5th remark about me being stupid for not buying the vita mixer because I was choosing a sub standard blender, which for some reason he was telling the 2 people who had stopped by, I just decided I would take my business elsewhere. Congrats Costco, you have a guy who not only cost you a $160+ sale from me for the mixer I wanted in the first place or one comparable to it, but now I will let my friends and family know about my experience. I am still shocked by the whole ordeal and I am willing to bet I am not the only one this guy has done this to. I told a manager about it but I have no idea if she will actually do anything about it, so I am coming here. BEWARE!! the bald man who sells vita mixers has apparently never taken a sales course and will bad mouth you if you don't just buy his mixer. read more

the parking lot is always so crowded and hectic.. but i like getting a few groceries here.. the gas is always cheaper here too
