I have been shopping at this Costco for years. I even drive farther to go to this particular store. So when I needed my prescriptions refilled I figured I might as well do it here. At the time remember thinking it was strange how rude the employees where for a Costco store. I had a 90 day supply filled in April. Well this week when I get to the bottom of the bottle I almost swallowed a dime. At first I thought how could that get in there. I live with my fiancé and I thought about it. Any strange people in my house. Nope. It was either the cat, the cleaning girl or it was sold to me that way. No one else has been in my house over that time. Then I counted how many pills are left and clearly they put the dime in there to throw off the count because I'm short 21 pills. How do I know the exact amount? Because I have two prescriptions I take together. If this doesn't concern you I want to state that I found the dime when I almost swallowed it. Normally I take my pills at night in the dark. Thank good I had the light on on this particular day. I'm outraged that something I put in my mouth touched a dirty old dime. I informed a manager at Costco who had the pharmacy manager call me. And he lied saying he left a voice mail. I tried calling back but got the front desk and no one knew who called. They think I'm lying about this. They won't even call me back or leave a voice mail message. The attitude is why am I the first one to make this accusation. So I beg you if you had this happen to you also please leave a review. I use to love this Costco, but it has changed. The self checkout lines are no longer self checkout. Staff will force you to allow them to scan. You have to have your membership card checked 3 times (including at the door) and staff aren't friendly. Note: The rep today at self checkout only asked to see my card and no one else infront of behind me...) why me?. They claim it's to move the line along but this has happened even when there isn't a line. The experience hasn't been great and I dread coming here now. read more

Went in for our weekly shopping and lunch. While ordering my Hot Dog I noticed that the individual making the pizzas was placing the pepperonis on the dough with his bare hand- no gloves. The containers for the condiments for the Hot Dogs were empty. The area around the drink area and napkins was very dirty. Dried mustard and ketchup and trash on the counters. Both trash bins were overflowing. I realize the hotdogs are only 1.50 but Costco should take more pride in their food court. read more

The employees have always been super nice and the store is clean including the bathrooms. The thing is people that have memberships are pretty used to how Costco is. This store really is no different. I will say that recently K sent me over to Costco to pick up a cake for an office party. There wasn't anything that I liked and a super sweet bakery lady offered to check in the back for a different cake. 04/15/10 We usually go here for our stocking needs- jumbo bottles of multivitamins (for visiting relatives to take back home), lotions, and shampoo/conditioners; multi-packs of contact lens solutions, disinfecting cloths, and scratch-free scrub pads; fragrance-free clothing detergents and lavender-scented fabric softeners, BOTH biodegradeable; and 36-bottle cases of both Kirkland (Costco brand) drinking and Arrowhead natural spring water. Let's not forget those $100 gift cards that go for $80! I usually do my organic food shopping at Whole Foods and other natural food stores, and it's nice to know that Costco sometimes offers organic items, such as pastas, veggies, and fruits (strawberries and apples, to name a few). Lately, I've had good luck procuring large organic Red Delicious apples. That is, until yesterday. As you can see from the photos, this batch had a very rotten apple. I found maybe a total of four- this was the worst one. I initially meant to return the batch and complain, but decided not to bother and just throw them out. I'm a HUGE fan of Costco. Recently I've started using their pharmacy. I have monthly thyroid meds I've been paying $8.99 at the grocery store for, well Costco did it up for a 3 month supply at $11.99!! Now this Costco has something NO other Costco has. They are the country's test store for a self check out process. It's pretty cool and easy to use with someone standing right there to walk you thru it. Basically you scan your Costco card and then get a hand held machine to scan all your buys with. They even thought ahead to put a holder for the machine on all the grocery carts. Theres a dedicated are for you to check out (much quicker). The only downside to the process is theres no boxes nearby to make carrying your stuff into the house. read more

I just moved to this area and prefer the Chandler location over the Tempe location because it looks cleaner and is well stocked. The layout of the Chandler store is much easier to navigate as well. Don't be a fool and go on a Sunday afternoon... you will risk the chance of being ran over by a careless human with a shopping cart while they barge through oncoming cart traffic to make sure they get a sample. read more

Self scanning place is in system, just grab a hand held scanner and go about your shopping scanning things as you put them in your cart. At the end, you just go to the self checkout and pay! How easy is that. Most of us already know what to expect from a Costco but here are a few things I enjoy whenever I go shopping: *extra large rotisserie cooked chickens for $5, very cheap dinner *Life size teddy bears for $30! *Free samples! Come in the afternoon for these *Jumbo quantity size vitamins, their quality is excellent *Movie tickets 2 for $16, save a few bucks *30 bottles of water for $3.50, remember to recycle! *Their cakes and bakery is awesome *Their snack bar is so good. Honestly their pizza is better than some of these restaurants on Yelp that specialize in pizza. The people here are amazing!! I am writing specifically about the staff that was on last night, & at the tire center, but really everyone in the store also. So we came in (at 831pm) rushing to get to the closest Costco to my husband's work, knowing we had no chance of being seen at closing, much less AFTER closing. We get to the counter and I think his name was Victor? heard our situation--our Michelin tire (from Costco) had blown on the infamous AZ fwys and we were driving on a donut-- we commute from Queen Creek to Phx for work and my husband had a late night at work, and we had to do it all over again in the morning--which is not ideal to drive on a donut with. We were cutting it close at 715p when we got him from Phx & were heading back home & to the east Valley Costco, but when we realized we weren't going to make it before closing, we ditched that location & decided to go to the Chandler location right off the 202. When we got there, to our surprise, they took us in & got our tire changed out within 20 minutes!! It was under warranty and they couldn't figure out what made the tire go flat because there were no visible punctures. The Costco team-- every single one of them-- from the people at the door letting us in & out, to the manager(s) on staff that night, were super accommodating and went above & beyond, even letting us buy a couple things after they had closed out the registers because we were stuck there waiting for what we thought was going to take a lot longer, but didn't. The manager opened up a register for us to buy some snacks while we waited with our 2 little kids. They ended it with an awesome drawing of our kids on skateboards on the receipt from one of the ladies at the door, and a genuine& effortless "No problem, it happens to everyone. We all have families" from another staff member. What a great company Costco is!! And this location & its staff is truly amazing! I'm not sure how the management is, but I know these kinds of attitudes usually trickle down from the top. read more

Love this place. Always be prepared to spend a lot but it's so worth it! The place is usually always crowded. Lots of shoppers but they also have food samples. This is another way they get you to spend more money. They serve pizza, hot dogs, ice cream and sandwiches. I've only tried their pizza and I'm not a very big fan. There are others who seem to like though. I see people taking whole pizzas home and others sitting to eat slices. read more

I do appreciate that they carry a nice selection of books for all ages and even magazines. Their meat quality is very good and honestly I could say that about the far majority of their products. I dislike this place for so many reason that I don't know where to begin. The parking lot is atrocious and is always packed. Doesn't matter what time of day you come here it's always busy and most of the people are rude and seem to have no conception of social norms or common curtesy. No one who works here ever seems to know where anything is, and that is if you can find someone who works here that is not too busy running around and will actually help you. What I do like about COSTCO is they take passport photos and they have a good return policy. My mom, and I were looking to get a membership here, I'm 6 months pregnant and had my 2 year old son with me when I went with my mom to get a membership TOGETHER - on the same account. I understand the whole pandemic that's going on but definitely did not need to be treated in a way like this. Went in to get a membership and the lady at the door was refusing on letting my mom and I in with my 2 yr old, we had the manager come out and told him we just wanted a membership where we would be apart of together on the same account. Was she expecting me to leave him in the car?????? Manager understood and let us go in with my son. We tried taking a cart in where my son was sitting (mind you I'm pregnant and can't hold him.) but the lady by the door took the cart and said we don't need it. Minus this place being so crowded you can always buy a large quantity of items for a decent price. Be prepared to spend more than what you expected on your debit card or Amex credit card. To be methodical and logical start by ordering a super large pizza cheese/veggie/supreme pizza for $10 to go -it's the best deal. Oh but be sure to take advantage of the scanners for a faster check out - accepting cards only (mentioned earlier). Look at the electronics, and pick up photos if you have any. Check out the jewelry area if you're so inclined to really shop. Food trial stations throughout the area for you hungry snackers. Scan for some reasonably priced basic seasonal clothing, furniture and other items. Maybe if you need to pick up medicine from the pharmacy or need an eye check up you can definitely come here. After you have loaded your shopping cart with tons of items go straight to the scanner check out. Pick up your pizza and then head straight to the doors with your receipt ready. You made it!! Sometimes you have to come here often just in case your fave foods are not in "season." Also, you can come here for replacing tires and gassing up your car. I like variety in life, to get the variety I crave I visits Costcos other than the one that is a mile from my house. This is what brought me to Candler today. As costcos go this one can get quite busy on the weekends, its proximity to a major mall, and two highways make it a popular destination. The item selection here is pretty standard with a few nicer liquors on occasion. I love most things Costco, so I will focus on what makes this a less than perfect Costco. The gas station entrance is a bit odd, as you must snake through the parking lot. Moreover, the food court table layout is terrible, long rows with little space in-between; it is anything but private dining. I also am bothered by the fact they often have garbage blocking the suggestion box, I wonder if this is an attempt to discourage suggestions. Times have changed as this Costco is doing a great job! We visited today, March 26, 2020. Senior hours were 8 to 9 AM give or take. Costco in Chandler just off the 202. My wife and I went to this Costco this morning arriving at 7:15AM--open for those 60+ or disabled. All parking lanes are dead ended meaning no u turns or any turns. The lanes are blocked by over turned shopping carts to protect those in the entry lines. Park in the first spot you find or you'll get dead ended. Note: Only Costco member are granted entry--friends are not allowed unless they are Costco members. We didn't see any children within the store. This Costco was really stocked with meat, fish, pork and chicken items. Milk was available in fat free, 1%, 2% and whole. A good supply of eggs but one package per customer. The employees handed out the toilet paper, one package of 30 rolls per member. Diaper and cleaning wipes available. Water was available but not in the sport bottles. For Entry: you must show you ID and membership card, then given a number, then the end of the long line. We spent over $300 as we did major shopping. The employees worked very hard to assist their members. I highly recommend this Costcolocation! read more

Yes, I am still a fan. Still a member. I would be remiss if I didn't mention also that I'm a stockholder. This place is so crowded all the time how could I not buy the stock?! I still find a lot of great stuff here at good prices. The selection changes from time to time. Right now they have begun to stock their spring/summer stuff. Jumbo weed killer, swimsuits, storage sheds, patio furniture, Turbo Tax (the cheapest you can find it anywhere is here at Costco), and more. Plus the usual stuff like big packs of pasta, toilet paper, olive oil, rice (several kinds), cereals, butter, tortilla chips, bread, meat, and a lot more. We bought the large storage shed two years ago (they have another one now), plus at various times some of their furniture, some clothes, our washer/dry pair (when we moved into our new house several years ago), toilet paper (of course!), butter quarters, chips, tomato bisque soup, oil, pasta, bags of rice, bags of sugar, I'm still working on my bag of salt from 20 years ago (no, I'm not kidding...big bag for cheap and we still have a little left), I always get my Roundup here (much cheaper than Home Depot), garden cart and accessories, and much more. If you get your fuel here you'll probably save enough to pay for your membership just from that. Their return policy is excellent, their value is excellent, their quality is generally very good; probably the only downers are that you have to get your stuff home yourself (e.g. hope you have a pickup truck to get the shed home!), and the sales people don't have the product knowledge you would find in a specialty store. But if you know what you want, that isn't a big deal, in my opinion. As a member you're also entitled to visit the Business Center store at 33rd Avenue (they have different stuff there...I reviewed them a while back), and also to utilize their car rental discounts, travel services, insurance services, auto center (mostly tires and batteries, I believe), optical, pharmacy, photo center, and everything else. Costco is the first place I look for something. If they don't have it then I'll go elsewhere, but I come here first. Note that they are discontinuing their American Express card in April. It will be replaced with a VISA card. So my previous comments about AMEX in my old review don't apply anymore. But they will accept the VISA, there will be no annual fee, and you'll still earn reward points that will show up as a check every year. read more

Great gas prices, only place I go to get my pictures done, and they just so happen to have the Cheapest and tastiest snack Bar ! Lately , we have been calling ahead and picking up their pizzas for parties . The size of their pizzas make them the most afford game in town . Unfortunately ,I can't seem to leave Costco without a full cart ! Came here this morning for asking information about the MacBook Pro got problems and we still have 2 years warranty . The lady , I saw on her tag is Karen -2008. She was so gruff and rude to us. All I received from her was piss off and so racist. When I asked for printing receipt, she was so rude to answer that the computer at the other side could get a print but the man was busy with the computer. Instead of she told us please wait , she throw us a piss off and rude with saying that step aside and wait and asked me why you can't print your receipt at home? I went to the counter to pay for my items, most of them are big so I left them inside my cart then very nicely asked for a box for my items please. The cashier looks at me and tells me " Next you want a box you need to put your items on the counter not leaving them inside cart" I said I am sorry but why!? My rating was 5 stars until today. I have shopped at this Costco since it opened. Purchasing food, clothes, televisions, dietary supplements and gas. I have always been greeted in a friendly manner and each employee has been friendly and helpful. Since this establishment is serving fresh, frozen and packaged food for human consumption along with drugs etc. , I wonder when it became permissible to have non-service dogs allowed in. It is against Arizona law even if the dog is in a baby stroller or carry bag or whatever. Dogs, as loveable as can be, are not humans and I expect your management to control this abuse. People need to know their "special furry family member" is not allowed in a restaurant or any other place that serves food for human consumption. read more

No help on loading merchandise I bought a $400 dollar mattress at this Costco location and when I need help to load it the unprofessional costco employees told me they could not help me load it on top of my SUV even when I had a basket and six ties. I spoke with the manager after they denied loading help and he said: ok help him load but do Not help him tie the mattress so the liability is on him and not us. I could not help thinking how unethical and coward that attitude that was. I was disgusted. I stopped buying at this location ever since. read more

Don't get me wrong- I love Costco- however, I do NOT recommend the Costco Concierge warranty for Laptops. First you wait online for 30 to 40 minutes on hold; then you get an agent that asks basic information, and if you really do have an issue with your laptop, then you are transferred to another agent- but only after another 20-30 minute hold (yup- you are over an hour on hold). The agent walks you through a reboot, then determines if you really have an issue (just in case you did not know that). At that point, you receive an email that you need to "Agree" to- stating that you understand and 'agree' that they will send a box for your laptop, and somewhere between 10-14 days, you will get it back (no guarantee that it will take more than 10 days)- and it will be set at 'Factory Reset'. This is no matter what was wrong with your PC!! My PC is having screen issues (Pixel issues)... and they are going to do a factory reset so I have to reload EVERYTHING!! Like I said, I do not recommend the Costco Warranty Concierge service. it is a far cry from any 'concierge' that I have ever encountered. However, I will again state that I LOVE Costco... this is ONLY about the warranty service that they offer. read more
