This Costco store is better than the Costcos in Niles, Schaumburg, and Chicago. It is less crowded and there seems to be more parking space. Upon entering the store, the host that checks for membership IDs also distributes the shopping carts to each member which makes it very convenient and efficient entry. The store is well organized and the items that are on sale are prominently displayed. The alcohol offerings seems to be better in this location and they carry Kerrygold butter, but it's lacking in seafood options that are offered in other Costco stores I mentioned above. Because this location is less crowded, the lines are more efficient and the customers/cashiers seem less crotchety. Getting gas out here is also quick; there was almost no wait! Like others said, navigating the parking lot to leave feels like a difficult maze (especially in the evening when it's dark), but eventually you'll figure it out and it didn't hurt my shopping experience. read more

I don't know if it is the location which makes a huge difference in this Costco (Glenview $$$) if you know what i mean. The servie was excellent, there were more samples than any other Costco i have ever seen (Common who doesn't love free food). The food station where they serve pizzas, hot dog etc was very clean and the back drop of this Costco, has a nice hill and looks beautiful on a Sunny day. Who doesn't love Costco??? Visiting from out of town and holding onto an optometrist prescription for almost two years, I needed to find new prescription reading glasses as well as new sunglasses. Call me picky but I just could not find frames I really liked so the days turned into months of looking...and then they turned into almost two years! But my old glasses were from Costco and I had confidence and hope that Costco would 'save the day'. And, they did!! Frank helped me find just the right shape and size frame....honestly. Then, when I was looking for frames for new sunglasses, Frank again pointed me in the right direction! Additionally, I asked if my order could be rushed since I'm only in Chicago for another week. No guarantees but, ya never know. And, guess what! 1 pair of glasses was ready just 4 days later!! Yay! Today, I was able to pick up my sunglasses....less than 1 week from when I ordered my new glasses!!! Simone made all the adjustments to both my reading and sunglasses! Yay......happy girl here! My Costco: What can I say? I'm here a lot. FYI: Costco has a longstanding arrangement with the producers of FLU vaccine....so they often have it in stock before the other pharmacy chains. If you are paying a lot for prescription medication: You should really get a price quote from the Costco pharmacy. Some people say "oh I'm not paying for an annual membership" It doesn't take that long to recoup the membership price. Look at the parking lot: It's filled with quality cars. I am a big Costco Shopper and today I have a horrible experience with one of the Costco Glenview Employees. I was doing a return with the Employee Sonya OP #610 and she failed to let me know before doing the return I would be getting back the discounted price for something I payed FULL price. The whole conversation with her was super rude and would not want other customers to go through someone with so much attitude. My understanding is when you do a purchase with your membership the transaction stays on your card. Once I checked my return receipt she told me this was a policy at her store (I have never heard this and why didn't she say it before completing the transaction ) and so I asked why? she said because I didn't have my receipt and its part of the policy.(where does it say this policy?) I asked her if I was able to take my return back so I could return at the Costco I originally purchased and said "no sorry" with the most arrogant attitude. She told me the policies twice as if I didn't understand when all I wanted was to take my return back so I can get my full amount returned .They should really reconsider having this women work the return/customer service department. I will be making another Costco run to the store I originally did my purchase and hopefully they are able to help me out with this problem. read more

Summary: Had tires installed at different location, came to this location for safety check on tires. Was told to wait outside and it should take a couple minutes. I left after waiting 20 minutes outside. (Nobody approached me while I waited.) Never getting tires here again. Whole story- Came here for a safety check on the tires I had installed at a different location. I was told to wait outside one of the garage bays and that it would take only a couple minutes. I parked outside one of the bays and waited around 5 minutes, until another car pulled up to a different bay-where it got worked on immediately. After the car left I decided to move over to where that car was. As I pulled up to the bay I saw a mechanic on the phone who angrily waved at me to go away. After that I went back to my original spot and waited some more. After about 15 minutes of nobody approaching me I decided to leave. I'm either going to go to a different location or an entirely different shop to make sure my tires are safe. Most likely the latter. read more

I got suckered into joining here - mostly because work was offering a discounted rate and I got a free $10 cash card. The process was simple and the lady helping us was very friendly and helpful. My picture turned out very 'wide' and I look like I have lines for eyes. Costco's in the area are too few. Thus, they're ALL crowded ALL the time. This one, however, isn't so bad as the one in the city or the one in Skokie/Niles. You know the drill- a more "upscale" Sam's Club- more organic and higher-end brands plus the world- famous Costco-brand vodka. All that aside, I got the membership to get the SWEET price on Michelins for my trusty Civic. Waited until the $60 off came around and bam! 4 tires for my little car for $233! The Costco in The Glen is the best around. I always find amazing steals on everything from beauty to home decor to jewelry and watches! I have my eye on a sweet little deal of a rug. Costco is awesome. My family just joined and we spent a over a hour in the store looking around! so many good deals. We like it loads better than our former grocery store (Jewel Osco) The food is pretty good as well. We meals that lasted us awhile and that were good quality. They also have lots of sampling going on throughout the store which is really nice. The one thing that annoyed me is that they don't accept visa. Only cash, a check, mastercard. But I have to laugh at the pretense of healthfulness in Costco's selection of "non-GMO," "gluten free" and "organic" food products. This says nothing about the sugar and other calories they are usually full of--plus the enormous portion sizes! GMO doesn't give you diabetes. read more

The company has been very good to us! We have used them for hearing and cooling. Beware who they send out though. We had one guy who was very bad. No bedside manner and if that wasn't bad enough he misdiagnosed the problem causing us to have an emergency call at 10 pm in 30 below wind chills. Have had such a wonderful experience here until today. A cashier named Ivan was extremely rude to my mother. She mistakenly took an open can of Kirkland's Colombian Coffee and sent me to run and swap it with a new one, forgetting I had the card. Figured that since he was still charging the woman in front of us and since he had gone above and beyond to put stuff on the belt for, I sprinted to swap the coffee cans. I was gone for maybe 30 seconds (I'm a runner, run 5 miles a day), and apparently he was so nasty and so rude to my mother. Saying that she should've been ready, that this is unacceptable, that the line is held up now because of her. My mom even said, "let's put everything on the belt so when my son comes we can ring and pay." He then went on to tell her to do it herself and that it's not his job. Mind you This might've been like 15 seconds that they waited for me considering that the woman in front was still being rung up when I started running. I find this to be completely unacceptable. I spend a good over $200 a week at this store in this location, and never have I ever been given this type of service. The entire transaction the man seemed hostile and cold. I did not receive a friendly experience and it really makes me wonder if I should just switch over to Sam's Club. Beyond disappointed. read more

I love this Costco. I've been coming here for almost 10 years at this point, and I've become pretty attached! I came here for booze and toiletries as a college student in Lake Forest, stopped here for gas weekly when I commuted from the city to Caremark, and now come here a few times a month for everything under the sun from my condo in Evanston. I live closer to the Niles location, but find it so competitive (and they don't sell some products I really like, like the hairball-reducing, weight control cat food I get for my two picky kitties) that I refuse to go there and drive to The Glen instead. Costco has the best prices on a variety of products, and I have no trouble storing them in my 800 square foot condo I share with my fiancé and the aforementioned spoiled kitties. If you claim you "can't shop here because you don't have the space", I call BS. I regularly purchase paper products, booze, toiletries, medication, etc. and can store it easily in an appropriate place in my home. This is not the place to try a new type of cereal or granola bar, but a great place to buy things you use regularly and know you'll finish at fantastic prices. There is typically only 1-2 brands of each product, but you can rest assured that they're good representations of the product. I'm not very brand loyal (shop at TJ's and Aldi regularly), so I appreciate that I'm not overwhelmed with 20 different types of chips. The house brand (Kirkland) is often given top marks by Consumer Reports, and I also recommend it. This is also a great source for seasonal/specialty items. I buy tomato plants here yearly for a great price, purchase small kitchen items like coffee makers or soda streams, and even bought a pull out cabinet organizer for less than half what it would cost at the Container Store! Best of all, if you have an issue with any product, bring it back for a 100% refund. If you no longer have the receipt, they can look it up with your membership card. Why oh why did you change around the store? If it ain't broke, don't fix it! I still love your jars of pesto, your chunks of aged cheddar, your Greek yogurt, your organic milk, eggs, cheap small bottles of Water, your soft toilet paper, your absorbent paper towels, your jalapeño artichoke dip, your premixed kale salad, your high quality wrapping paper, but I can't walk around on autopilot anymore which is half my fun.... Aha! I just figured it out. You are following the Vegas casino model so I get lost in the store! This store gives out lots of samples (last Saturday was 4 different types of pierogis, veggie bites in hummus, dried apples, Fritos mix, Tate's chocolate chip cookies, chicken quesadillas, guacamole and chips, butterscotch candies, coffee, prunes and more) so i can certainly survive for a while. Tip: don't go hungry because I was and after trying the samples I had to have different 2 types of pierogis, the cookies and the guacamole. read more

I went to this Glenview Costco because I wanted to see if it had other items than my home Costco in Niles. Big mistake! I have never been to a more unfriendly Costco before. My first stop was the return counter where I was going to return an item that I had previously called and was preauthorized to return. The service desk was as rude as they could possibly be not to mention slow and unorganized. I then continued my shopping experience at the optical department asking the representative about glasses and my prescription etc. He clearly couldn't wait for me to walk away as I was getting one word answers from him and when I walked away he loudly finished a conversation with his coworkers-that I had clearly interrupted . Such a disappointment. I have been to many Costco warehouses and have never experienced the rudeness as I did from this one. Corporate should make an undercover visit and weed out the useless and rude employees from this location to keep the stellar reputation that customers have of the Costco name. read more

I will never shop again very Rude manager and staff, On 12/23/2019 at 7pm my sister went to Costco the one in Glenview to shop for holidays, after spending one hour at Costco she came to check out at the register the lady at the register and the store manager told her the membership picture is not matching, my sister said this membership belongs to my brother and we live at the same house she showed her ID card to verify that we live at the same house but the manager said it's not possible to shop from Costco without having your own membership and she gave a very stupid example She said its like you are going to health club you suppose to have your own membership, what is very stupid comparison health club is meant to be for one individual person but shopping food is supposed to be shared by the family that live at the same house, according the the manager each one in my house members need to get Costco membership because cant share food with the others house members. I will report this manager to the corporate because for sure she need more training and learn how to talk. read more

This place is dirty ,especially in the food court and mens bathroom .The employees are the most unfriendly people, that I have met.

I am writing this review because of the self checkout line at this location. I shop frequently and spend a ton of money here. Yet when I used the self check out, I am treated like a criminal by the employees. I am an young Asian person but for some reason when the employees who are supposed to assisting the self checkout line, literally overlooked our shoulders the whole time as we were scanning our items. We let this one slide. The next time we were leaving and the person who is supposed to be check the receipt for everything that is ensured, everyone else got a quick look and moved on but again, the young Asian couple gets stop and literally counts every single one. I understand the self checkout is different, however it is also noticible when other people who have considerable amounts in their carts with a blue receipt get a quick look and move, I question the motives of the checker. Worst Customer Service experience I have ever had. Like Zachary C. in the comments below, I had a similar bad experience at the Tire Center and Store. I came in for a simple tire swap. - After making an appointment I was not serviced until an 40 minutes later. - They charged me twice on my debit card. (charged me again because it was "difficult". - When taking my tires off, they careless dropped my wheels and scratching them. - They were openly talking trash about me and other customers while i stood near the bay. - after taking off my wheels, they told me they cannot provide the service because it was too difficult for them. (After they bragged about working on GTR and Corvette tires) - They suggested I take my vehicle to the car dealership for service. - I received no apology. - The customer service supervisor argued with me about getting a refund. + After wasting my time for two hours I finally got my refund and left. + I am never returning to this Costco again. read more

Parking lot can be a little tricky on the weekends, but generally I like this Costco. Not as crowded as the insane Lincoln Park location nearest me - that alone gives me reason to want to shop here. It's a little hidden, but I like the surrounding area so driving out here is not a chore - more of a tiny little get-a-way. This location does have a gas station - so more bonus points. Staff is friendly and helpful - and as all Costcos - they offer their fair share of samples (which I run away from cause people will surely tackle me to the ground trying to get that slice of ham on a toothpick). read more

What would I do with out a Costco within 10 minutes driving distance. Go in for a milk and come out spending like $100 bucks. I loved the chamomile tea that I bought a year or so ago but I have never seen it again. The samples taste so good but once you take it home, never tastes the same but we still fall for that tasting gimmick and buy stuff. Next time if you going in for milk take only your membership card and $5 cash. But still I love that place. The new chili at the food court is pretty good. read more

The pharmacy allowed my dog to be on a "no insurance plan". It was on chemo and a bunch of other support drugs. Less than a third of the price of Walgreens and CVS. I had shopped many places. The photo department rocks. The best quality for the price. Unfortunately their film development machine has broken and Costco is not going to fix or replace. Like all big box stores once I love a new product they hook me on with their samples, it is gone and I cannot find it again. My only real complaint is the long lines. Many times I am in the area and purchase gas but go elsewhere for groceries because I don't have 20 minutes to check out. Avoid like the plague on Saturdays.
