I prefer going to this Costco rather than the one in Columbia for a few reasons. First and foremost, it's not as busy here compared to the one in Columbia. I don't mind busy, but I'm talking about I have to park at Best Buy or Trader Joes and walk my butt all the way to Costco! I'm lazy. :) Also I feel like the service here is genuine. The people that work here actually seems to want to help me and my sister. The employees were dancing to the music that was being played in the background making us, or at least me feel comfortable. The quality of the products here are the same as the other 1 in Columbia. So overall this place has the better service and it's less busy. read more

Just to let you know, I am incredibly biased when it comes to Costco. I've been shopping there since it was known as Price Club back in the 80s. Now that I am all grown up, I have a membership of my own. I usually shop here twice a month. That said, not all stores are created equally. The Arundel Mills store is only a few years old, and has always been very clean and well-organized. A quick overview of several departments: Tires--I agree with Nate on this one. The Tire Center is great... Your tires will be installed while you shop, and there's often a coupon or special to be had. I've purchased three sets of tires from here, and have been very happy with the product and installation. One caveat: the line can be long on some days, so if you can't get there first thing (they open at 10), give a call first to make sure that you won't have to wait too long. I would recommend avoiding the Tire Center entirely on the weekends. Way too busy! Two other notes: 1) Costco only fills tires with nitrogen. Yes, you can "top off" a nitrogen-filled tire with regular air, but it's not ideal. The techs will top off your tires any time, and since I'm there with some frequency, that's not an issue for me. 2) The tire center also provides a free tire safety check any time you'd like one. The techs will inspect the tires while you shop. Photos--Place your order online, and pictures are often ready the same day. One-hour processing is also available. You can order photo cards (holiday, birth announcements, etc.) and enlargements as well. The customer service reps are friendly and helpful. Jewelry--Bling in all price ranges. Not bad but not great either. Electronics--Decent selection, competitive prices. Office Supplies--I am such a nerd for this kind of thing, so the 30-pack of Sharpies is appealing to me. A fun aisle to peruse. Includes kids' crafts, picture frames, and school supplies. Bakery--features in-house items such as cakes, cookies, breads, pies, and muffins. I usually try to bypass this section entirely, but I must tell you that I buy a pumpkin and pecan pie from here every Thanksgiving. Produce--mostly hits with a few misses. I think that the new stuff still arrives on Tuesdays, so shop on Wednesday morning for the best/freshest selection. Would like to see more organics. Clothing--decent selection for babies, kids, and adults. Prices are competitive but not always the lowest in town. Media--good selection of books, DVDs, and CDs (does anyone buy these anymore?). Grocery--from staples to spices to specialty items, I've found lots of great products. I buy organic milk for Chickadee here (3 half-gallons for under $10 / stock limited to whole milk & 1%). Additionally, the Costco store brand, Kirkland, is very reliable. Another thing to look for is gift card discounts. Two $50 gift cards for SpaFinder, Starbucks, and McCormick & Schmick's (among others) sell for $80. Last month, there was an instant rebate on Godiva gift cards, and a $50 card (normally $40), cost only $20. Needless to say, our moms received chocolate for Mother's Day! I've never purchased anything from the optical department or pharmacy. There is a gas station here as well (12 pumps), and the price is usually .10 cheaper than what you'll find along Arundel Mills Blvd. There is a changing table in the women's room. Your little kiddos may like it when the employee who checks the receipt draws a happy face on it. The employees seem generally friendly toward Chickadee--I do appreciate that. Another kid favorite is the samples (usually available from 11-6). Yum! A reviewer for the Beltsville location complained about having to buy four boxes of "macoroni and cheese [sic]" at a time. Um, yeah, that's the point of shopping at a warehouse club! If you have kids, and you have some storage space, go for it. read more

This review is for the Tire Center at this particular Costco. I have bought 2 sets of tires from them, and both have been mounted well and subsequently serviced well. I have a knack for running over any stray nail, screw, sharpened pencil, rubber-eating singularity, or dark crystal shard lying in or around the road. So I've taken advantage of the (included) roadside hazard insurance three times now, and they're always fast and professional. Even when I hit a spiky object with my new car, which did NOT have Costco-installed tires on it, they plugged the tire for four bucks while I shopped. In short, they rock. read more

So I actually didn't walk in since I'm not a member. I was just meeting a friend. But I've been in many of them. Let's face it. Paying into a warehouse type place is worth it only if you buy a lot of stuff. Since I'm single, I really saw no need to buy food there, considering that it will go rotten before I eat it all. Why would I need a one gallon jar of peanut butter? Therefore I didn't join this or any other warehouse store. There are things that you can buy in bulk, even if you're single, that makes sense. Toilet paper, detergent, razor blades, etc. You will save a lot of money just on these alone. What I didn't realize is that you can buy consumer products that are cheaper than the retail stores. For instance, TVs, cameras, watches, clothes. And you don't have to buy them in bulk. The best time to go is around lunch time. Go to all the free samples they are handing out and wala, no lunch needed. And if you're still hungry, buy a 1/4 pound hotdog with a soda for only $1.50. read more

This particular Costco is always clean, well-stocked, and unlike other Maryland Costcos (*cough Gaithersburg*) you don't shorten your lifespan while standing in line to checkout. Haha I'm surprised so many people reviewed costo. I live just around the corner from here where there is an abundance of hotels and bank as far as the eye can see. Oh and also a getto mall, where if lucky you can get a parking spot. I go to costo like 2x a week for stuff and gas. Wish they had wine like they do in the hip states. Also they used to have cave aged gruyere cheese and cremefreash but no longer carry them. Other then that it's costo. Aren't they all the same? I do wish they had music playing in the parking lot, free car washes, dry cleaning and daycare. Free massages would be nice too. read more

I used to go to the Costco down in Beltsville, MD but the gas lines were always long and the store was always packed. Ever since I started going to the Arundel Mills Costco, I've been thrilled. I think I only had to wait behind one car for gas once. The rest of the time I drive right up tot the pump. The store is a pleasure to shop in. The layout is great. The selection is great and the lines at the checkout are almost nonexistent. It is well worth it for me to drive the additional 7 miles up the Baltimore/Washington Parkway from my house to the Arundel Mills Costco. It's a fantastic experience! read more

What can I say that hasn't been said about Costco? If you go on the weekend, prepare to deal with massive crowds. Mid-week shopping is ideal but don't expect too many samples. The loosely kept secret about Costco is they have some cute clothes. I mean they're pretty basic but you can snag Kenneth Cole, Calvin Klein, etc. for kinda cheap. Won't hurt to grab some pieces for Casual Friday. On another note, I used to like their churros but the last couple of times I had one, it was cold (big no-no) and hard. No crispy, gooey cinnamon goodness! Better off at Baja Fresh. Their churros are amazing! read more

Costco is costco in my book....BUT THAT's a GOOD THING! What I mean by that is they have a great deal of consistency between stores. The one thing to be said about the Arundel Mills Costco is that it is HUGE. May be the biggest Costco I've ever been to. This means they have more inventory than the usual and also more displays. If you want to buy Costco furniture, this is the one to go to. Great, fair and honest! I love the tire center! They do not try to sell you the highest price tire they sell you the best tire for your car. They are very busy so you have to get there before they open so you are in line when they open. Delonte one of the managers is knowledgable, kind and polite. He manages to help everyone. Jarrod was also helpful. They explained in great detail why my tires wore. Now if they only had other types of repairs and oil changes. read more

This place is certainly the best Costco around. We go at least once a week for milk and other grocery items. Plenty of parking spaces for everyone. At times it could get really busy but overall, great place to get all household needs. The customer service is awesome, very hard to beat. Their warehouse layout changes frequently, which gives a good dynamic to the store's atmosphere. Food court can also get very busy. Service at food court is OK, not as good as other Costco places. The location is convenient complementing the Gas Station as well. Return and exchange policy is top notch. Membership fees pays off itself by year end. Thank you for being you, Costco. read more

Typically, this place has the cheapest gas south of Baltimore and North of DC. I rarely fill up anyplace else. I go this Costco on a weekly basis. Never had any negative issues except for that it does get very crowded on the weekends. Very clean. Staff is fine. Prices of merchandise are always competitive. read more

I have shopped at the Arundel Mills Costco for many years, and always been satisfied with my experiences there. Today was a different story. All customers are required to wear face masks, yet I saw a worker at the food court counter, without a mask, preparing food for customers. She leaned over a pizza, breathing directly on it while cutting and boxing it, and prepared and wrapped food to give to customers. Two other employees, one of whom was the manager, stood just a few feet away, complaining about customers who didn't want to wear face masks, but ignoring the food service worker right next to them who wasn't wearing one. I reported the problem, and the manager acted like she hadn't even noticed. Needless to say, I expected better. read more

Am very disappointed about the pharmacy dept as I went to pick up a prescription and it was closed while the rest of the store was closed on a weekday afternoon. When I asked why it was closed, I was told there was insufficient staff? Then the next day I went after work to try picking it up as the store was open to 8:30pm (I verified this by calling the store and listening to the hours.) The pharmacy was closed at 7pm! When I asked if a manager could help get my prescription for me after I complained about the pharmacy hours being different than the store hours despite not being posted anywhere except for a sign inside the store, he said only the pharmacists could get it. I will never use this pharmacy again due to their terribly inconsistent and irregular hours of operation. read more

This is by far the best Costco I have shopped in. The store is always clean. The staff are friendly and available to help find what you are looking for. Their customer service is top notch. I have taken back items that were defective and they refunded me, no questions asked. The store seems to have good retention with their employees, as I have seen the same people there for years. Costco is the ish. Like another Yelper said, "it's like a discount on life." You can shop for food, buy a mattress, get some socks, change those bald ass tires on your hooptie, fill your prescription, and finally fill up your gas tank before driving into the sunset. I save tons of money per year on toilet paper, razor blades, and paper towels alone. Customer service is top notch, and they are fantastic with their handling of returns should you ever need to bring anything back. I almost forgot...don't forget to hit up their meat department. It's the best stuff you'll find anywhere. I used to be a member of Sams Club, but I didn't renew after going to Costco. To me, Costco is the warehouse club Barney's while Sams is, well, Walmart. For a bulk store, their services are very personal. The team there treats you like members and not just customers. The parking is great there and the additional services for medical services are outstanding. This Costco is a breed apart and a shining example of service to the customer. I love Costco and really should not be allowed to go here because I buy too many things that are delicious, especially when I am hungry. This is my go to place for meats and fruits because you get more for less than a normal grocery store. All of the grocery stores near me have a really terrible fruit and veggie selection. The stuff costs more and it is often moldy in the store or moldy within a day of getting it home. I also got my couch from here and I love it. It is a nice sectional and it was half the price of most couches from furniture stores. Gas here is often much cheaper than the gas stations near me, but you might have to wait in line for it. If you don't have a membership to costco, you should probably get one, it's worth it. read more

When I first walked in I was greeted and asked to see my card, I then proceeded to shop around and found that Costco has some better deals compared to BJ's or Sam's club. Tire Center is awesome. No hard pressure to upsell, although the standard Michelins I wanted were not in stock and my tires were bald. Staff answer questions without being patronizing. Nitrogen fill of tires. No wheel alignment available though. Also, Pharmacy is way better than your regular drug store. The Pharmacist was easy to talk to and cheerfully offered helpful answers. Staff generally nicer than other Costcos, especially Pentagon City. read more
