Many of her coworkers don't look at you as they speak to you and answer your questions while continuing to write on their clipboard or do their work. Wow...where to start. The employees there are rude and short with me. You never have this at SAMS Overall they are more expensive than SAMS. There toys are great and awesome deals. There meat and food is even more expensive too. I just don't understand why the employee there have to be so rude and condescending. The food court area has good food but not as much of a selection. We live in Mechanicsburg but my wife insisted on keeping our Costco membership! So every other week we drive all the up to this location. She doesn't say much about it but I refuse to spend a dime at this Costco because they stopped accepting Amex as a payment option. Not only that but when I asked a floor manager about it she said "we haven't too lost many customer because most people were asking for Visa"! So, in other words all the "other" customers using Amex do not really matter any more! Great job Costco read more

Always been a fan of this place. Costco keeps bringing new things and the sampling makes it easier to choose what to buy. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is not everything is available to buy the next time you go. So if you like something and go back you may or may not find it. Also they do not label their aisles which makes it difficult to locate things and increases the time in the store. The staff is very friendly. A great place to buy eyeglasses too as they have a wide selection of them and they will offer repair and replacement screws anytime you need it. Returns are so easy and efficient. Love love Costco! Great deals on great stuff! I love getting meat here, specially flank steak, rotisserie chicken, and chicken salad. Christmas time is great here for gift baskets. Also check out their clothing section. There are some hidden gems in there!!! Lines can get super long, but staff is always friendly. Samples can be found during peak hours :) week days they are a little more sparse, but Saturday's are sample heaven. The parking lot is a complete nightmare, 24/7/365. The gas is usually a good deal and I've never had to wait longer than 5 mins. No cash for the gas though. Membership prices are rising in 2017, so it's a toss up whether I will renew. I am beyond frustrated!! First off, every time I go to this location, it's a frustrating experience! The only positive experience I've ever had here was in the tire center. With that being said, I ordered a dehumidifier online and it stated I would receive it the following week (I didn't). I called customer service to check on it and she came back and said I would have to call the vendor because she couldn't get an answer! WHAT?? So now I have to do YOUR JOB?? So I did, and the vendor wouldn't talk to me. I called back and canceled the order. They said I would be getting a refund within 3-7 days! Well, we are now over a month into this mess and I still don't have my refund! I will NEVER order from Costco again and I think I may cancel my membership and go to Sam's! Went and picked out a standing desk which was marked wrong for the piece and they put it on us for having the wrong price above the item... both Costco employees said that we would get the mismarked price but the manager came over and said that we would not get that price because it is not the correct price. Great place to shop. Especially for meat. You can get a whole packer brisket, PRIME grade for just $2.99/lb. much better than the CHOICE grade that Giant offers for $5.95. And their car rental deals are excellent. The savings we realized on our first rental paid for the membership. And unlike the Walmart clone, their employees are paid fairly and get good benefits. The woman at the self checkout counter was not paying attention to us waiting to do self checkout There was no one to guide the queue to the checkout counters Another employee (old, white male ) yelled at us from the last checkout line to move over there Unfortunately we "had" to go to him, while two white female employees in the next checkout counter surrounded us & "gawked" at us Totally your fault for being unorganized, lazy & employing bullies as employees (do you or do you not realize that Costco members belong to different races so lame of you) Update: How dumb are you to instruct your employees to clean during peak shopping hours? Today is Friday, May 21 at 8:55 pm. The cashier Lisa, is the worst cashier i have ever seen in every aspect. I had to be part of a discriminatory scene by her part and this should not be tolerated with such a big company as it is Costco. Its was discriminatory because when a couple of old white people before us she was everything good and smiles by her part, then when it was our turn to pay and because we were hispanics and we were talking in spanish everything changed, rushing us with an attitude, blaming us and literally yelling at us for not knowing that they only accepted visa cards and the worst thing is that she pushed my wife when she run around her station supposedly because she miss placed her scanner! Dr. Won has completely redeemed my last eye doctor experience! Costco optical is INCREDIBLY blessed to have such a wonderful doctor working with them. *FYI: you do not have to have a Costco membership to see her at Costco Optical. You must if you buy lenses or eyeglasses have a membership card, or be with someone who does. Otherwise you can see her without worry of being a part of the Costco family- er, um, Club. :) Dr. Won gave me a full exam, including the eye dilation where I walked around Costco feeling like my eye balls were as big as saucers afterwords. She was gentle, very explanatory, answering all questions with patience. Totally chipper attitude, managing different patients at random times, and organized to a T (which means she was REALLY REALLY organized!). Best of all? No more headaches, and a really great prescription with 1 year supply of contact lenses! Yay!!!! If I lived in Harrisburg, or even Central PA, I wouldn't think of seeing anyone else!!! Oh and her Comprehensive fee is $70.00, and for contact lens fitting another $40.00. She does take some insurances but not sure which. Hip Hip HOORAY for Katherine WON!!!! read more

Costco is so consistent from location to location and their standards for everything is really high. If you are keen to retail organizational management, you can appreciate how well this shop is run. Costco has great prices on a lot of things and fair prices on anything that is not. Generally, the quality of the products they sell is very high. For example, I have not been able to find russet potatoes the same huge size and quality than at Costco. Being a non-PA native, this store looks exactly like a store near me...which is comforting when you are running in to buy something quick. The inventory schema is the same from store to store. If you aren't a member and aren't sure if it's worth it...well, I'm telling it is---especially if you feed a family. If you are single, it's great for household goods and supplies. Find someone with a membership to take you, and you'll be amazed like I am---everytime I go. read more

A busy place even when it opens. Some interesting things to see, but the grocery side is what shines. The general merchandise is a bit scattered and you really have to go there for specific things. They don't have bags for your items so bring your own and bag them when you get to your car. read more

Costco is what it is. We find the things they sell if high quality and never had a problem with a return. The automatic extension of warranties on electronics is great although we have heard issues with their "concierge" program. The only problems with this store is that they have too many customers for the location and the way the driveway is laid out and getting in or out of the lot is sometimes an interesting experience (that would be helped by a little courtesy from drivers). They also did a top notch job re public health during the height of the pandemic. If all businesses had done the same we might not have had omicron. Do wish they could sell wine and beer as in some other states. read more

This location is in close proximity to the major shopping centers of the Harrisburg suburbs which is perfect for all the families surrounding the area. Can't say none but good! The staff is always willing and available for assistance. I've purchased items here that were marked with a star (*), indicating the sale of the last stock and have never had a problem with a price adjustment. A manager of some sort has to approve the adjustment but nevertheless, there seems to be wiggle room in the already good pricing. I am always astonished about this store somehow 'knowing' about my needs before I know about my needs but we always leave with more than we had anticipated getting. The Costco meat section is fantastic with often great prices for steak, chicken and pork. Don't let the 'bulk' scare you away. They often have great deals on ziploc-type bags too, letting you separate the items and freeze 'em in smaller packages. We have been using the Costco pharmacy as well. Their pricing is also lower than a Target or CVS for example. They also sell medication for pets. read more

My experience in buying a washing machine at Costco has been extremely disappointing. I ordered it 2 weeks ago and received 2 emails this week that it was shipped. Tracking of the order showed that it was shipped to Covington Twp, PA, and received there on Nov 4(from LG). Today we were called and told that LG could not fulfill our order and the order was cancelled. Interestingly the machine we ordered 2 weeks ago went on sale at Costco Nov 4 for $150 less than what we paid. Called Costco customer service and this was verified. No information on when we could get a machine. To add insult to injury, Costco charged our credit card as if it was shipped but can't cancel the charge for 7 days. We look for unique things at Costcos nation wide and the only things we were able to point out at this one are all the pretzels (no less than 7 varieties) and the reverse flow (the majority of Costcos seem to have traffic flow counter clockwise). Staff seemed nice, bathrooms were clean, and organic selection was 1/2 way decent (more than many markets east of the Mississippi). read more

My husband and I avoid places like this as we prefer a less warehouse like shopping environment, personalized customer service and try to support local businesses. We have heard great things about Costco for years so we went to join today. I wish there had been a free trial membership so that we could see if we liked the place but we never got a chance to see it. We entered the store and attempted to head to the membership desk but there were about 30 customers in line waiting to have their receipts checked to exit the store so there was little room. We instead tried to enter into the door marked "enter" and staff member guarding the door gruffly told us we couldn't enter without a membership card and had no time or patience to assist us or even answer a question. He started rudely telling us we were in the way. So we fought through the hoards at the exit door to get to the membership desk. There was one woman working behind the desk. She was helping a customer to sign up. We were directly in line in back of that customer. Two men walked up on other side of the counter and the staff went to wait on them first yelling who is next. We walked out without ever even receiving a hello from these unfriendly staff members. There was a reason we never joined this place and I am sorry we bothered to drive there. read more

Tire Center is HORRIBLE!!! Lacks any management. I am a huge Costco fan and been a member for years. First time I tried the tire center. WHAT A DISASTER!! I had an appt for noon. I am 6th in line when I walk in the door. One guy working the counter and he isn't in any hurry. You can tell he is just here to work all day and not care. He is answering phone and goes back in the warehouse for long time. Other Costco people walk in and out but nobody is helping. After 20 minutes I am finally waited on for appt. No paperwork is ready. They can't find anything. They don't know where anything is at. Another 15 minutes go by and finally they have it straight. BUT I am now it's going to be another 20 minutes until they can take my car. WHAT?? An hour behind?? Why schedule an appt? I have a work meeting. SO I get an attitude?? They can only tell me I will done by 2:00. Really? For a 12:00 appt??? DO not come here unless you plan all day. WHAT A MESS!!! read more

The store is fine but is lacking in food court organization. Always understaffed. Twice I have waited for 15 minutes+ only to find out what I intended to order is out of service or sold out. And then when I am able to order what I want, the condiments are empty. Great way to create an annoying end to what is usually an otherwise satisfactory trip. read more

They have the best quality in-house brand (Kirkland); it could hold its own in any other store. They have the best return policy I've ever seen anywhere in any industry. And if you have storage in your home, it really pays to stock up on their rich variety of bulk items. I've been to BJs and Sam's, and Costco has them beat in all of the above categories. read more

Since the COVID changes have happened, this store has become a very upsetting, and borderline militant type store. I've been to about 6 other costcos across the northeast during this crisis and this is by far the worst. The staff is unhappy, stressed out, they openly argue with each other in front of members and they talk with disrespect to customers and shoppers. I feel they have really stepped over the line with this entire issue and it's a negative and upsetting place to shop. I think I will have to cancel my membership because of the whole vibe of that place. I cant express enough how stressed and unhappy the employees seem and they definitely pass that on to the members. I was even yelled at in the parking lot by another customer (an elderly lady) probably because the whole vibe of the store is just bad. I think if they eased up it may soften the effect it has on other people who pass it on to others. This sort of attitude and treatment just isn't necessary. read more

I went to Costco because I have high-deductible medical/prescription coverage. I usually go to CVS, but I wanted to see if I could save some money. I always read so many good things about Costco's pharmacy prices. I went to Costco and gave my information and prescription to a young woman at the counter. She had a know-it-all attitude, but I thought, "Okay, I can deal with a little attitude, if it saves me money." It turns out their "cash" price was no better than using my insurance to buy my meds at my local CVS. I could have saved my time and gas money and gone to CVS, paid the same price and received better customer service. I have no complaints about the rest of the store, but due to my pharmacy experience, I will not shop there anymore. There is nothing there that I can't live without. Most of the people shopping there don't look like they need to being food in bulk anyway. read more

I enjoy Costco because it carries some pretty neat things and there is a slowly changing inventory. I also like that they don't change the layout just to change the layout (like some other places I know). It makes it easy when you are in a hurry to get what you want and get out. I enjoy this Costco because the staff has always been very courteous and friendly. If they can't answer your question, they will find someone who can. I highly recommend this store. My membership renews each year in January. I have appreciated being able to buy more organic things lately... In general, I am a shopper who tries to be very aware of what companies I support when I buy their products or pay for their services, so yes, I buy organic whenever possible (almost everytime I see it). Earlier, I knew that I would be able to buy enough to make the executive membership worth it with the reward check they send you. However, this past year, I knew I would be travelling more and would not be able to buy as much. Before renewing this past year, I told the membership clerk that I knew I wouldn't be buying as much and wanted to downgrade my membership to the regular membership for the upcoming year. She said something like, "Why don't you wait and see how much you spend? If it turns out you aren't buying as much this year, you can always downgrade this year's membership at anytime in the year. Membership has a satisfaction guarantee, so if you're not satisfied because you know your reward will be less than $55 (the difference between executive and regular membership), then you can be refunded the $55 and go back to a regular membership. So there's really no reason to have to downgrade now." Ok, fine. So I paid for another executive membership. Throughout the year, I had been getting bad feelings that I knew I was not going to spend enough, went back to ask to downgrade, and the membership clerks kept saying, "Oh, you are spending decently, there's a good chance your check will be more than $55, so it's worth it not to change now." So I kept it a little while longer. Fast forward to November. I went in very sure of my travel plans for the remaining couple of months and knew I would not be spending enough for my executive membership to be worth it. So I went in to downgrade my membership again. "Oh, we're very sorry, we've just sent out your reward check in the mail. If you'd like to downgrade, bring in your reward check and give it back to us, and then we can downgrade you to regular membership and refund you $55." So I did. Got the reward check in the mail. Went into this Costco to finally downgrade, like I've been wanting to do all year. The membership clerk I talked to gave me the same "wait and see" speech I'd heard from other clerks elsewhere. But when I would not budge in wanting to downgrade to regular membership, reward check in hand ready to surrender it so that I could get my $55 refund with their "satisfaction guarantee," it was apparently impossible. What did the guy do? With total attitude (are these guys commissioned or something with the memberships they write up?) he downgraded me to regular membership for the remaining time on this year's executive membership, WHICH I ALREADY PAID FOR, AND GOT NO REFUND FOR. So, in effect, until January, I am a regular member although I paid for executive membership. I will get no 2% reward as is due to paying executive members. He handed me back my reward check and said to go spend it since it's the last reward I'll be receiving. When I protested, he said it's already done, and started making illogical arguments about why I should've kept my membership until the end, stuff about the new computers not allowing something or other to happen... So I told him from the start, I was told that at any time I could downgrade and have the difference between the executive and regular memberships refunded to me with their satisfaction guarantee, and I asked him if this was a lie. And he said I should have listened to him to keep my membership until the end. He never told me when my membership would end... I had to tell him mine ended in January. Then he asked me to pay to renew now, and I declined. The clerk was demeaning and illogical with a side of attitude to boot. To be nice, I will refrain from making this membership clerk's name public, but I know his name. Contact me if you want to know. My takeaway from this is that they lure customers in with this lie that you can get refunded what you pay extra for executive membership any time and then pull the rug out from under them at the end. Classic bait and switch. Don't make my mistake, or you'll end up like me - paying for an executive membership and not even getting the benefits of it. Am I upset? Heck yeah. I am furious I was deceived all this time. So I would say I'm definitely "dissatisfied." So much for their satisfaction guarantee. In the end, I've lost less than $20. But like I said, I very much vote with my dollar to support good companies. I cannot stand for this type of deception. In January, I will not renew my membership with Costco. I will be shopping elsewhere. read more

I visit here with a friend that has a membership. I'm not a huge fan, but he really loves it. The discounts are ok, if you know what you're doing. Sometimes they're jsut as expensive (or more) than elsewhere. I'm really not sure it''s worth the membership. My friend loves getting the large pizzas when we leave. 10$ for a supreme pizza. read more
